Chapter 8
Annabeth's POV
"Hurry" I whispered in a hushed tone ducking behind a boulder as I urged the others to go faster.
Jason did not need to be told twice.
I looked around the cavern.
It was beautiful to say the least.
There was a little pond, it's water as silver as the moon.
There was intricate carvings on the walls written by the ancient people. There was prophecies of the past, present and the future.
There was flowers blooming all over the place.
The ground looked like it was made of jewels.
There was only one thing ruining the image.
There stood Athena and a little boy, Aiden.
Piper wasn't there.
I looked at Jason speaking with my eyes
Calm down. We will find her.
He only nodded at me but nonetheless, he looked furious.
Unluckily, Athena and Aiden were bloody and battered. As I locked eyes with Athena, I saw only one message.
RUN
Well sorry sis but we ain't leaving without you two.
We had to be extremely quiet and careful as there was a small army of guards surrounding us.
To make matters worse, End was here. Sitting on a throne made of diamond.
We hid closely to each other as we caught sight of him.
CRACK
My head snapped towards the source of the sound.
Damien only looked at me with apologetic eyes.
The boy had stepped on a twig.
I had to suppress the urge to face palm at his stupidity.
End got up from his throne. His eyes scanning the area lingering where we were for a moment.
We didn't dare take a breath.
"Isaiah." he called.
"Yes master." replied one of the guards as he stood in front of End and bowed.
"Let the boy go. We do not need him now. His brother kept his end of the deal." ordered End with a smile on his face.
Wait what deal?
Percy and I locked eyes. His green eyes looked furious and I believe mine looked exactly the same.
Then, all of us turned to the two newcomers with deadly glares.
Alice only looked confused and afraid while Damien looked afraid and guilty.
The looks on their faces told me everything I needed to know.
End had said Aiden's brother kept his end of the deal.
Not mentioning his sister.
Alice looked plain confused and afraid while Damien looked guilty.
The answer is painfully obvious to me and as the others faces only became more and more furious as a ring of guards surrounded us, I'm sure they figured it out too.
"Good job Damien."
As End looked straight at me I was reminded of a few lines from the prophecy
As they go, their numbers shall grow,
Whom to be trusted, they shall not know,
"Why hello my lady." said End with a sickening smile on his face.
