Stargazers

The breadcrumbs stretch
from the dark days past
A trail of stars
in a universe far
where the human journey
first began
and all looked up
to see the way
to these times
we take so light
rushing ahead
losing touch
losing sleep
forgetting much

Can we once
see these stars
and look for the stories
they've held
and meld into
a better truth
that holds us all
