On an Endless Sea

This night we draw
light within ourselves
to one gathering
One focus
of enduring memory

Here we establish
an anchor
as waves dark
overrun the shore
unchallenged

What wakes
has never slept
Never seen
the invisible dream
in the heart of this age

But being itself
A beacon revealed
This new ascension
is the sail to assail
the mysterious fate

With courage release
all that once held
All of its struggles
and the excuses
to remain
on an endless sea
