Reward for the risk
Heart on the line
Jumpstarted this
ahead of time

yet all the heavens
and all the hopes
returned unrequited
mostly unknown

We broke with the past
yet our present retains
a stronger connection
to the heart of our ways

If only a future
could see us through
and into the arms
of an age brand new
