Hearts in Silence

Poor old bird
could not see
Did not know
where to be

Carried hope
on unbalanced wings
over a world
uncertain

Why is the mountain crying?
What is it that bird don't know?
A million hearts at once are dying
They don't know where to go

Her wings
beautiful that day
carried away
in an empty fog

Do not let
this mountain fall
Do not fade
so far so fast

When will they fly once again?
When will the ocean dry away?
Where will pain meet its bittersweet
in the dusk at the river's bend?

Up and over
Over the court
A parade of promise
an applause in tears

Listen children
to the song
the old bird sang
when time was long

Yes the crowd shall rise
The cheers will echo in time
For now these hearts in silence wait
but someday again they will fly
