*Author's POV*

The Next Morning...

Prince hadn't slept all night, he thought Katherine had only just wanted to go somewhere to let off some steam for a couple of hours...not the whole night. He's pacing back and forth like an idiot going out of his mind, where is she? She had a huge fight with Will and she's scared that they're done so she's not with him...where could she have gone?

Fuck this he thought.

He grabs his coat and runs down to the lobby, his guard furrows his brows. Prince looks up at him.

"I need you to take me to Will Truman's apartment. Katherine hasn't come home at all, I'm getting worried...he might know where she has gone." He says.

He nods and they head out to the limo, they set off for Will's building which surprisingly isn't that far away from Paisley Park. Meanwhile Prince's head is filled with crazy scenarios, is the baby okay? What could have happened to her? His heart begins to race at the thought of something happening to her. They pull up to Will's building and they walk inside, going into the elevator.

They get off and knock on his door. Will opens the door, he looks terrible. He looks like he didn't sleep either and he's still in his clothes from last night.

"Prince, what are you doing here?" Will asks.

"It's Katherine." Prince says.

Will's face drops, looking as if he's preparing for the worst.

"What? What happened? Is she okay?" He asks Prince.

This made Prince smile, telling him no matter how nasty a fight gets between Katherine and Will the love between these two friends will always over power the hurt and nastiness said between them.

"You tell me, she came home fuming. Told me off then left. I haven't seen her since." Prince shrugs.

Will sighs, stepping aside and letting him in.

Prince walks in, sitting on the couch. He looks around before looking up at Will.

"She's just so set on making everyone happy, she's forgetting about taking care of herself." Prince sighs as he watches Will sit down.

Will nods, he rubs his temples.

"Before she met you...we always had arguments about this." Will admits.

Prince squints his eyes.

"About the baby thing?" He asks Will.

"Yes, see...I had my own Katherine before I even met Katherine. Her name was Grace, we were best friends in high school but lost contact during college when she moved to France. Then I think a year before Katherine met you, Grace came to town to visit me. Katherine and I thought it was a harmless nice visit but there was a catch..." Will explains.

Prince was intrigued and leaned forward, wanting to hear more.

"What was the catch?" Prince asks.

"Grace had just gotten divorced from her husband and got told she had some sort of condition by gynaecologist, so if she wanted a baby she would have to start popping now. So she asked me...for my...you know. And I always went to Katherine for every big decision and small thing, we always made decisions together. Even picked out our own clothes for each other in the morning when we lived here together. So I asked Katherine what she thought, I asked her if I should do it." Will tells Prince.

Prince nods while raising his eyebrows.

"What did Katherine say?" Prince asks.

"At first Katherine was filled with joy and said to go for it. But then she had doubts and told me not to do it, we had a fight where I said it wasn't about her it was about me and Grace's happiness. Then she reminded me that when Grace had the baby she would go back to France anyway..." Will stares in a space.

Prince takes in what Will says, looking back up at him.

"That's when you two made the pact...wasn't it?" Prince asks.

Will turns to look at Prince and nods.

"Yes, we made hot chocolate by that fire place over there. Made a toast after making up, it was Katherine's idea. If we weren't married or at least in a relationship by a certain age...we would have a baby together. Then a year later she went to your concert and met you backstage." Will smiles.

Prince smiles, remembering the first time he met Katherine. Chuckling at her bitter attitude towards him.

"Yeah, what a fun night that was." Prince scoffs.

Will smirks.

"Yeah I remember the phone call." Will chuckles.

Prince snaps his head in his direction.

"She called you that night and told you?" Prince asks.

Will laughs.

"Of course she did! She tells me everything." Will shrugs.

Prince shakes his head.

"What did she say?" Prince asks, sitting back.

Will smirks, crossing his arms over his chest.

"It went like this...'Oh my god Will, you'll never guess who I saw tonight, and no it wasn't one of the Baldwin Brothers. I had to take Billie to the Prince & The New Power Generation concert, right? And he wanted to meet us backstage, so we meet him. Then he takes me to a private room to talk.'" Will mocks Katherine's voice.

Prince is trying really hard to keep a straight face.

"And then I gasp dramatically and say 'Ooh talk? Did you really talk? Or was there some Private Joy going on in there?' Just to annoy her." Will says sarcastically.

Prince laughs, holding his stomach. Rolling his eyes playfully at Will's pun using his song name.

"And she does this fake laugh then goes 'No you Queen! I wouldn't do that, he may be hot but he's quite up himself'." Will says while laughing.

Prince's jaw drops while laughing harder, he throws his head back while laughing. The pair laugh together as the door opens, they look up and Jack appears.

Jack's eyes widen.

"Oh my god, did Katherine turn you as well?" Jack gasps while pointing at Prince.

Prince shakes his head and rolls his eyes.

Will raises an eyebrow.

"That is so mean to say, and for the record...she didn't turn me." Will defends.

This catches Prince's attention as a smirk plays on his lips.

"I haven't heard this story." Prince says.

Jack smirks as well, skipping over and sitting beside Prince.

"This is why I like him, I like the straight husband better than you, Will. He likes all the stories where you're the fool in all of them." Jack grins.

Will rolls his eyes. Jack turns to Prince, clapping his hands together.

"Did your two timing wife ever tell you that she was very briefly engaged to Will once?" Jack asks.

Prince's eyes widen and his jaw drops as he turns to look at Will. Will just sits there in silence.

"No she didn't, please continue." Prince smirks.

"Please don't, I don't want to hear this story again. Plus Jack over exaggerates." Will sighs.

Prince holds up his hand at Will.

"No, I wanna hear it. I knew you two were close but I never knew you two were actually a couple before you turned." Prince says.

Jack scoffs.

"Yeah well why do you think I'm hanging around you? I'm waiting for the same thing to happen to y..." Jack goes to say but Will interrupts him.

"Jack! Stop it!" Will says.

Prince chuckles.

"Sorry Jack, I don't bat for your team. Katherine is all I want. But carry on with the story." Prince urges.

Jack gets excited as he begins telling the story.

"Well we go way back to when these two were in college. Will and Katherine had just started dating, they had been dating for about six months...Katherine invites Will over to her parents for Christmas and he comes along. Katherine wants to...how do I put this delicately? Take things to the next level, they were in bed and she tried to get things going but Will springs out of bed like a deer in headlights and runs into the bathroom crying." Jack explains, laughing at the end.

Prince puts his hand over his mouth, refraining from laughing.

"Katherine tried to find out what was wrong with him but he couldn't tell her so he covered it up by proposing to her in front of her family, he pulls her aside then tells her he's gay. She kicked him out of the house in the cold and they didn't talk for a whole year." Jack closes.

Prince seemed surprised by Katherine's reaction, he turns to Will.

"You both didn't see or talk to each other for a whole year after that?" Prince asks.

"Nope. I was an idiot for what I did that night, it could have gone a whole lot differently. Then that whole year of not talking would have been a whole year of talking. But one night we were in the same supermarket and we were in the same isle...we just found each other again. She told me she was only mad for a little while but she got over it quickly, which kind of made me a little mad because I had being going out of my mind without her for a whole year. Do you know what a whole year without her and a year with just Jack is like?" Will asks.

Jack flips Will off, Prince laughs.

Prince sighs, he learnt a lot today. He understands more about the relationship between Will and Katherine, and why she'd do what she currently wants to do for Will at the drop of a hat.

The door opens and speak of the devil, Katherine stands there. Her eyebrows furrow, she points between the three of them.

"Oh my god, my nightmare is coming true. You're trying to turn him aren't you?" Katherine asks Will and Jack.

Jack fake laughs then makes a straight face.

"You're so funny, I almost forgot how huge you are." Jack scoffs.

Katherine closes the door.

"What's going on?" She asks.

"Prince came here looking for you, he's been worried sick about you. You didn't go home last night. I've been worried too." Will admits.

Katherine sighs, sitting down.

"I was at my Mothers." Katherine admits.

Will's and Jack's eyes widen.

"Wow you must have been pissed if you spent a whole night with her." Jack says.

Katherine looks between the two.

"I was, but I'm here for a reason." She says.

The three of them look at her.

"I want to talk to Will, alone." She admits.

Jack nods, standing up. He looks down at Prince.

"Come on, let's go to your house. I'll tell you more stories. I need to tell you about Will's first time at a gay bar." Jack says.

Prince chuckles as he stands up, following him to the door. Prince stops and looks back at Katherine.

"Will I be seeing you at home later?" He asks her.

Katherine turns to look at Prince.

"Yes." She smiles.

He smiles back and heads out with Jack, leaving her with Will.

"Look, Katherine. I don't think we need to talk about this anymore, I still don't want to do it." Will sighs.

"I know, I just want to spend the day with you. Depressed Best Friend Protocol." Katherine says.

Will chuckles, pulling her into a hug.

"So we're going to the store to get chocolate fudge brownie ice cream and red vines and renting a movie?" Will asks.

Katherine giggles.

"Yes, that's the protocol! Have you forgotten already?" Katherine asks.

Will puts up his hands in surrender.

"No! Let's go." He says.

Katherine and Will were walking in the streets carrying their food, as they're walking they bring up last night events again.

"You know I didn't mean what I said last night." Katherine says.

Will looks at her.

"I meant it." He says.

She shoots a look at him.

"What?" She asks.

"I meant it when I said I didn't think of myself as alone...because I have you." He smiles.

She smiles back, holding his hand as they walk.

"I know, and you'll never be able to rid of me that easily." She says.

Will sighs.

"Damn." He mutters.

Katherine's jaw drops, she shoves him.

Will laughs.

"You're such a mean Queen." She glares at him.

"But you love me, and I love you, that's all that counts." He teases as he pecks her lips.

"You're lucky I do, otherwise that empty teach can back there would be full of shit, and when I say shit I mean you." Katherine snickers.

Will scoffs, tossing bits of cookies at her. They both laugh as they run towards Will's building. They run through the door, Katherine grabs a blanket and hovers over the vent on the floor. Will sits beside her and wraps his arms around her.

"You coming to Prince's show with me?" Katherine asks Will.

"Of course, it's a date." He smirks.

At Paisley Park...

Prince was setting up for his show, Jack was still hanging around. Jack was testing his microphones for him, Prince was getting a kick out of it.

"If I could turn back time!" Jack sings.

Prince bursts out laughing, throwing his head back and holding his stomach.

"Are you making fun of my singing? I've been told by a lot of people that I have a beautiful voice thank you very much." Jack defends.

"No Jack you do, but Cher?" Prince asks.

"How dare you talk poorly of her! Says the person who got so confused about himself he changed his name to a symbol!" Jacks spits then makes a fart noise and walks off stage.

Prince's jaw drops then he laughs, wiping the tears from his eyes.

"Oh I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. I should have Jack around more often." Prince says out loud to himself.

Jack walks up beside him.

"Do you think Katherine's okay?" Prince asks as he looks up at Jack.

Jack chuckles, sipping on water.

"Oh please, they're probably kissing and making up as we speak." Jack waves Prince away.

Prince rolls his eyes playfully.

The show begins and the guests roll in, Prince gets up on stage. He begins to play and perform, his performances are always on point. But it seemed a little slack tonight, because he couldn't find Katherine in the crowd. Until...

Katherine and Will make their way to the front row, Katherine looks up at Prince and smiles at him.

Prince looks at her surprised she's here, he didn't think she was gonna show. But he's happy she is.

The show goes on, everyone's happy.

As the show comes to a close, Will and Jack go home. Katherine heads into the living room, Prince follows.

He looks up at her.

"Hey. Are you okay?" Prince asks.

Katherine looks over at him, she smiles.

"Yeah. I am." She says while reaching out and grabbing his hands.

The two look into each other's eyes, smiles forming on each other's faces.

"Are you and Will okay?" Prince asks.

"Yes we are, we're great." She nods.

"So what's going to happen now?" Prince asks.

"He's going to be the best Uncle to our little nugget." Katherine giggles, rubbing her big belly.

Prince chuckles, placing a soft kiss on her lips.

"I'm sorry for last night, I just want everyone to be happy." Katherine sighs.

"I know, baby. That's what I love about you, you're always ready to set aside your own happiness for everyone else's. Plus after talking with Will and Jack earlier, I have a better understanding about your relationship with Will. Why you wanted to do what you wanted to do. You have such a big heart." Prince smiles.

Katherine's eyes widen.

"Oh my god, what did Jack tell you?" She asks.

Prince chuckles.

"Everything, so you and Will, huh? Engaged for a few hours? Dated for six months? You even threw him out in the cold! You heartless little thing!" Prince teases.

Katherine rolls her eyes and walks away.

"Keep it up you'll be sleeping outside too." She scoffs.

Prince laughs as he follows her.

"Aww come on, I was just messing with you. I love you." He smirks.
