his four walls declared him insane
Tuesday, May 9th. Four more days.
Josh let Tyler borrow his hoodie so he'd have a clean shirt to wear to school. He knew Tyler should call his parents to tell them where he was, but he also knew they couldn't really care less.
"Four days," Tyler spoke for the first time that morning, making Josh's hair stand on end.
"I can't wait," Josh chuckled, hiding his red hair in a beanie.
"Is your dad getting us new suits?"
"Yes, baby, don't worry about it. We'll have them Friday."
"Okay."
Josh's dad drove them to school because it started raining again. Josh really hoped it wouldn't rain on Purge Night, because the rain would be such an inconvenience.
Josh could feel the tension in the air, everyone was slowly getting more on edge. Nobody even so much as glanced at him and Tyler, but Josh didn't mind.
"These kids look terrified of you two," Josh's dad laughed.
"I told you they are. See you later, dad."
"See you guys."
They all knew Tyler would end up at Josh's house again, he was there so much he might as well move in. Josh felt Tyler's fingers close around his pinky, as if he were a little kid.
"You're cute," Josh said.
"I'm not cute. I'm hot."
"Right now, you're cute. On Saturday, you'll be hot."
The two were talking as they walked, not paying attention to where they were going. Josh was too lost in Tyler's eyes and Tyler was too busy laughing over some dumb joke he told. They ended up bumping into someone.
"Watch where you're going!" they yelled. They turned around and realized who they'd just yelled at, their face slowly turning pale.
"I-I'm sorry... I-I-"
"You've got some real balls," Josh said.
Tyler was mad. Their elbow had jammed into his side and now his ribs hurt.
"They hurt me, Josh," he mumbled.
"Y-You ran into me! It... It wasn't my fault!" they tried to explain.
"What's your name?"
"U-Uh.."
"Tell him your name," Tyler hissed, shooting daggers with his eyes. Josh got the chills. Right now, Tyler was fucking hot.
"Alexia," they said, voice cracking. (rosegoldtyler)
"What're you doing Saturday night, Alexia?" Josh asked.
Their eyes were full of fear, only fueling Josh. Tyler was just rubbing the spot on his ribs where he'd been elbowed.
"I-I'm staying in..."
Josh scoffed, Tyler laughed. All three of them knew it wouldn't matter if they stayed in or not.
"Good luck with that," Josh ended the conversation, Tyler clinging onto his side as they walked away.
"Stupid bitch," Tyler muttered under his breath, making Josh chuckle.
"Did you see how scared they looked?" Josh's heart was racing, he didn't know if he'd be able to make it four more days.
"Yeah, I wanted to choke the life out of them," Tyler responded without hesitation.
"That's hot," Josh complimented, making the smaller blush.
"You're always hot. It's no fair."
Tyler shut his locker after he'd stuffed his backpack inside. Josh really wished his dad would've taken them to get red bulls. A sleepless night and a longing for murder didn't mix well. Josh felt like he was going to snap, he was so tired. He could tell Tyler was too, he had dark bags under his eyes and could hardly keep his eyes open. He wondered if Tyler felt as irritable as he did.
"We'll need to rest up before Saturday. We need plenty of energy if we're going to be running around all night."
"I know," Tyler responded.
The bell rang, so Josh gave Tyler a quick kiss before they went their seperate ways.
🔪👻🔪
"Josh. I got someone else," Tyler informed the other as he sat at the lunch table.
"Who?"
"Someone for you."
"Why me?"
"I figured you'd want to kill the girl that was flirting with me in English."
"Who?" Josh's eyes darkened, fists clenching as his dull nails dug into his palms. Who dared to even try to talk to Tyler? Tyler was his and his only.
"Her name is Alyssa," Tyler said, taking Josh's hands in his own so he wouldn't hurt himself. (thatgreenjoshua)
"What'd she say to you?"
"She was saying how it looked like I didn't get any sleep last night and that she wished she was the reason why. She gave me her number too."
Tyler slid Josh a piece of paper.
Call me next time you can't sleep xx 555-321-1245 -Alyssa
Josh read the note, anger bubbling deep within him. He took it between his fist and crinkled it, jaw clenched as he thought of all the ways he wanted to hurt that girl.
"Idiot," he muttered to himself. Did she not know who Tyler was? That Tyler was his?
"Don't worry, Josh, I don't want her. I only want you."
"She's going to fucking suffer."
Tyler smiled, kissing Josh's cheek. "Can't wait."
"I have someone for you, too."
"Who?" Tyler sounded intruiged.
"Their name is Issy," Josh swallowed, glancing around the room to see if anyone was watching him. They weren't, he was just paranoid. (Issyalibunnykins)
"And?" Tyler urged.
"They said I'm a slow reader and then told the teacher I'm too dumb to know how to read."
It was a stretch, they actually had said "Josh isn't a fast reader, he's failed like every English class" but Josh took it in a different way. Who was this person to think they knew so much about Josh, anyway?
"That's all?"
"It was fucking annoying. I just want to watch you hurt them."
"Okay," Tyler agreed, a big smile on his face.
"I feel like I'm going to snap," Josh admitted.
"Why?"
"I'm tired and everyone seems to be getting on my goddamn nerves. It's like they want to die."
"Maybe they do," Tyler shrugged. "They don't have anything to live for."
"Do you?"
"Of course I do, I've got you."
Josh smiled at that. He kissed Tyler's forehead, hearing the boy giggle.
"Did you just giggle?" Josh chuckled, making Tyler blush hard.
"I don't know, maybe. You make me happy, I can't help it."
"It's cute."
Tyler groaned. Josh smiled. He was going to continue calling Tyler cute until he accepted the fact that he totally was.
"Won't be so cute Saturday."
"Nope, then it'll be fucking hot. God, I can't wait. You get so crazy, I love it. I wish we could kill whenever we wanted to."
"Me too," Tyler sighed.
"Maybe we could," Josh shrugged and Tyler looked at him as if he crazy. He probably was.
"We could? But we'd go to jail!"
"Not if we don't get caught," Josh was smiling hard despite the fact that he was being serious.
"I don't know, Josh. I'll think about it."
"C'mon baby, I know you wanna."
"Don't peer pressure me into becoming a criminal."
"Tyler, we killed thirty five people last year. Seventy in total. We're criminals."
"No we're not, it was legal."
Josh rolled his eyes. They both knew they were criminals, they just couldn't get arrested for it.
"You think we're innocent?"
"Well, no..." Tyler muttered.
"People already look at us like we're crazy. Maybe we are."
"I'm not crazy," Tyler argued.
"That's what a crazy person says."
