cut me farther than i've ever been

Alexia's house was significantly harder to break into. They had a security system similar to Josh's, bars over the windows and a solid metal wall blocking the front door. Josh and Tyler walked the perimeter of the house, searching for the best way in. They found a window that was cracked open from behind the bars.

Tyler used his circular saw, the sound roaring in Josh's ears and surely waking the people inside. It didn't matter though, it's not like there was anywhere for them to run.

The sound cut off and Tyler dropped the saw, picking up his pistol instead. He smiled at Josh. "I'll make sure the coast is clear."

Josh thought it was so cute when Tyler tried to "protect" him, when they both knew it was usually the other way around. Tyler slid through the window, gun aiming into the darkness of the room. He gave Josh the okay, the latter sliding in after him.

The house was quiet, so quiet. Josh was sure they were hiding. Although turning the lights on would've made the search a lot easier, keeping them off would've made it that much more terrifying.

Tyler stuck by Josh's side as they walked through the seemingly barren house. He gripped his hand so hard that Josh thought he was more afraid than Alexia was. It proved to be wrong, however, when Tyler stopped in front of a door and literally kicked it open.

"Damn," Josh chuckled, loving the smile Tyler gave him.

"Someone's in here, I hear them," Tyler whispered, eyes darting around the dark room.

"Come out, come out, wherever you are," Josh taunted, sweaty fingers gripping the handle of his knife tighter. He was ready, so ready. He couldn't wait to feel his blade rip through human flesh; couldn't wait to feel Alexia's body fall limp in his arms.

Tyler picked up a shoe off of the ground and threw it at the wall, gaining a gasp from the corner of the room. Josh's head snapped towards the sound, unintentionally holding his breath.

"Closet," Tyler whispered, barely audible in Josh's ear. The latter nodded, gulping hard. He took his sweet time walking towards the closet, purposely walking heavy so whoever was inside could hear him coming.

Josh paused outside the door, glancing at Tyler. He could make out the boy nodding in the dark. In one swift move, he flew open the closet door and grabbed whoever was inside by the hair on top of their head.

"Turn on the light!" Josh barked, holding the knife against the person's throat. The light flicked on and sure enough, he was grabbing a fistful of Alexia's hair. They were whimpering, tears rolling over their cheeks. Josh watched them silently, feeling Tyler's eyes on him.

"See you in hell," he whispered before plunging the knife into their chest. He felt the sharp blade slice into them easily, goosebumps running down his arms. They gasped; it was their last breath before they fell to the ground in a heap.

Josh followed them to the floor, dragging the knife down their chest and through their stomach. He watched the blood spill out onto his hands, pooling around them in a small puddle.

Beautiful.

Josh removed his knife from the dead body, fidgeting with it before wiping the blood off on the end of his sleeve. He wasn't sure why a dead body looked so beautiful to him. What would Tyler look like if he was dead?

"Short and sweet," Tyler spoke up, snapping Josh out of his daze. He stood up shaking, knees almost buckling beneath him. Did he really just think that?

"Let's go," Josh spat. He didn't know why he suddenly felt so angry.

"Damn, okay."

The pair left through the same window they entered and Josh sped off.

"Is Grace next?" Tyler asked from the back, finally done stuffing his face. Now, he kept himself busy by rearranging their miscellaneous weapons.

"Sure," Josh responded, clutching the steering wheel so tightly his knuckles began to hurt. How could he think about Tyler like that? He was in love with Tyler, why was he having scary thoughts about him?

It pissed Josh off. He wanted to put a bullet in his brain for allowing himself to think such a nasty thing. He didn't want Tyler dead, he needed Tyler. He'd give his life to keep Tyler alive. He didn't want Tyler dead.

Something caught Josh's attention.

There was a boy on the sidewalk, rapidly banging on a house's front door. He looked scared, and judging by how he clutched at his side, Josh figured he'd been shot. Why not put him out of his misery?

"Give me a gun," Josh said, holding his hand out to Tyler. He slowed the van down, feeling cold metal be placed in his hand.

"Who's out there?"

"Nobody," Josh lied. It was the boy from the bathroom that Tyler liked. What was his name? Skye? Whatever, Tyler never had to know.

Josh didn't even bother stopping as they drove by. He simply rolled down the window and shot once, hitting Skye directly in the back of his head. His body made a thump when it hit the ground, and Josh suddenly didn't feel as angry anymore. He sped off again, tossing the gun back to Tyler.

"I love you," he said, mainly because he wanted to hear Tyler say it back.

"I love you too," the brunette responded, and a kiss was placed on Josh's cheek. The red head grinned, reaching his hand behind him to grab Tyler by the back of his head.

"Kiss me."

"Don't crash."

Josh turned his head towards the boy, kissing him roughly for a second or two before turning his attention back to the road. Kissing Tyler felt great, maybe even better than taking someone's life.

Tyler crawled up front and sat in the passenger seat. He hung out the window and pointed a gun to the sky, firing into the air.

"What the hell are you doing?" Josh chuckled, hearing Tyler's laughter.

"I'm having fun, what're you doing?"

"Trying to ignore my boner," Josh admitted, glancing at Tyler out of the corner of his eye. He saw the brunette grinning, toying with the gun in his lap.

"Later, Josh. You have to wait."

"I don't know how much longer I can wait, baby. You're irresistible."

"Oh, shut up," Tyler dismissed him with a wave of his hand. "Just wait until after Grace. Maybe then."

"I'm holding you to that."
