iii. knock knock

"This is so your fault, Jimin!" Taehyung whispered and jabbed a finger against Jimin's chest as they hid behind a dumpster.

"My fault? You're the one who approached them first. Being stupid and asking them to give us a ride." Jimin's eyes widened at the accusation being thrown to him, "And don't jab your finger at me! It hurts, man."

"You're the stupid one! Why on earth would you make such a lame hook up line?" Taehyung rolled his eyes at Jimin who was crouched down beside him. "Isn't it obvious that they want to kill us?"

"We can take them out. They're just a bunch of girls. What can they do?" Jimin gripped barrel of his shotgun and smiled mischievously. "On the count of three."

Taehyung nods as Jimin prepares to jump out, "One.. two.. three!"

Both of them made a lunged out in the open, running in opposite directions with the enemy's firearms on their tail. Jimin rolls on his back and hides himself behind a parked car before he aimed and shot at the chainsaw girl. She staggered backwards as the bullet pierces her flesh, blood rapidly began to soak the make shift wedding dress she was wearing. On the other hand, Taehyung was handling himself well with his other date for the night. One of the girls made a run for Jimin. She carried a huge knife with saw-tooth like edges and she swung it at Jimin without hesitation. Jimin dodges the attack easily, being that the weapon was wrong for the girl's size and it was too heavy for her causing her movements to become slow and her attacks slack. Too slow for him.

"Getting tired, sweetheart?" Jimin whispered in her ear as he captured her in a tight lock, grinning widely as he holds her hand that had the knife.

"Fuck off." The girl manages to free herself from Jimin's hold with a jab of her elbow. Jimin just snickers as they slowly circle each other, waiting for someone to make a move first. "You won't be smiling like that when you're dead and cold on the ground."

"You think you're still alive because I lack the skills to kill you?" Jimin asked the girl then he slowly shook his head and clicked his tongue at her. "Oh sweetheart. I'm just making it fun. I'm afraid I'll make the worst first impression if I blow your head off on the first date. I'm not like that. I still have my manners."

"Shut the hell up!" She ran towards him, jerking the knife back and forth until she finally grazed his skin. Jimin bled lightly from the cut on his arm. "Huh. You're all talk. Let's finish this."

"Fine with me." Jimin smiled. The girl lunged at him again with the same knife. He caught his armed hand and twisted it, getting the girl screaming in pain as Jimin locked her wrists and made her knees thud on the ground. He swiftly twisted her neck, producing a gruesome sound of bones cracking underneath her flesh.

He coldly stared as her body dropped dead on the ground. Taehyung called to him, breaking his trance. "Jimin, let's go. We have a long way to go."

The sirens have alarmed and I'm in here, locked inside the house with a shotgun in my hand but still, I know if someone decides to break into this house, I'm not gonna stand a chance.

The purge has just begun.

"Come out, girly."

Back at the rendezvous point, Jin was drumming his fingers against the steering wheel. Meanwhile, Yoongi who was seated beside him, is typing away on his laptop inside the black van that he customized himself. A knock came from the back of the van, the partition opened and there was Namjoon peeking out from the small window. "Jungkook just arrived. Any news from Tae and Jimin?"

"Nope. They're off the radar." Yoongi said and then groaned as he rubbed the bridge of his nose as if he has given up trying to find them.

"Where the hell are those two idiots?" Jin ranted, now tapping his hand on the steering wheel. "I told them not to do something stupid. I should've known not to team them up together.. it's all my fault. Fuck."

"Chill out, man." Namjoon comforted the frustrated strategist. "I'm sure they're on their way here."

"Shit. We need to go for cover." Jimin said, trying to fix the gadget on his hand. "This thing keeps glitching and now it won't turn on."

Taehyung leaned over to him and saw for himself, "We can't get to the rendezvous point without the map. The route was saved there."

"I know, dumbass." Jimin rolled his eyes at his partner. "That's why I said we need to find a place to hide for now so we can fix this."

"Fine. How about that house there?" Taehyung pointed to the backyard of a dark house. Jimin nodded and they moved from the alleyway, swiftly crossing the street then going over the fence.

"Wait." Taehyung stopped Jimin who was behind him. He pulled him down with him behind the wall. "I heard someone."

They both listened intently, arming themselves with the guns that they stole from the girls earlier. A shadow of a man appeared, coming closer to them. He went to the back door, forcing the door to open but miserably failing so he ended up yelling at whoever was inside. "I said open the door!! Fucking bitch!"

"There's someone inside?" Jimin whispered lowly and flinched at Taehyung's bad decision making skills.

"I think it's a girl who lives here. We can take out this guy and then go in." Taehyung suggested, leaving his partner no other choice since they're already cornered.

Jimin stopped Taehyung when he made a move, pulling him back down, "And what do we do with the girl?"

"We'll figure that out later." Taehyung released himself from Jimin's grasp and took out the masked male in one shot. The gunshot echoing in the distance told them to move in quickly in order to avoid conflict.

Jimin put in a silencer on the nozzle of his gun and shot the doors lock. They came in and barred the door with the nearest furniture. "That'll do."

"Um Jimin." Taehyung tried to get the attention of his partner with his hands behind his head, directed by the gun aimed at his forehead.

"What?" Jimin turned to Taehyung, finding him defenseless. He took the opportunity to aim his gun towards the girl. "Lower your gun."

"This is my house. Get out."  The girl stubbornly replied. "Don't try me. I'm really going to shoot him."

"Go on. Shoot him." Taehyung saw the hesitation in her face. She haven't killed even a mouse before.

"The fuck, Jimin?! Don't provoke her!" Jimin looked over at him then at the girl, "Listen here. We saved you from that man outside so you owe us your life. We don't need anything aside from you letting us use your house, okay?"

"Why should I believe you?" She stepped forward with the gun, making Jimin step back.

"She won't shoot you." Taehyung smiled and relaxed his arm, lowering down his gun. "She doesn't even know how to disengage the safety notch."

Taehyung noticed too and released a sigh as he lower his arms down. "Look, we're really not in the mood to play hostage with you. If you don't want us to shoot you then get out of our way."

"You won't kill me if I cooperate?" She asked reluctantly.

"Yes. You have my word." Taehyung said. She disarmed herself slowly, still watching the intruders if they'll do something sudden.

"Is there anyone else here?" Jimin asked, going into the living room as he opened the doors to the rooms to see if she's alone. "It looks like you don't live alone judging from these pictures."

"I don't. They left me." She answered, both Taehyung and Jimin gave her a look.

"Wow, good luck to you." Jimin said, making the girl more anxious as she wondered how she'll keep herself alive.

"Do you have a laptop we can use?" Taehyung searched the living room and the other rooms too but found nothing.

"I have a computer in the next room." She said and led them to the other room. She turned the lights on and showed them her only possesion. "You can use this."

"This is ancient. I never thought I'd see something like this again." Taehyung sat down in front of the PC, turning the CPU on and hearing it buzz to life.

Jimin gave him the gadget and he connected it to the computer. Taehyung typed in the encrypted text and made sure their connection is secure before doing anything. The gadget turned on and showed a code prompt. Jimin typed in a six digit code which enabled them access.

The girl watched them from the sidelines and wondered what kind of advanced technology thing they are doing. It looked so foreign to her. Even their gadgets are unfamiliar to her. The guy who called himself, Taehyung, is typing in lightning speed on a black screen with green letters like in the movies and this other guy, Jimin, was behind Taehyung, instructing him what to do.

"Who exactly are you guys?"
