End
Evie Starr was just your regular bubbly girly girl with her makeup and pink dresses, or so everyone used to think, but Evie could no longer keep it that way.
That fateful night had been terrifying, and horrific, and she absolutely hated the memory of it.
She had attended the funeral of her baby sister only months ago, and she couldn't have been more heartbroken. Janie had been everything a sister could ever ask for, and more. She had been her best friend, her rock, and her ultimate protector. Janie was selfless, brave, and she had always seemed so invincible. Evie had taken that last one for granted.
Now she stood beside Michael, the only other person alive in the entire world who completely understood her. The two gazed at Janie Starr's grave. It was all white marble, with gold lettering, the date of death, and a plaque which read 'a braver girl never known.' Evie leaned down and placed flowers upon her grave, and turned on her heel. Michael grasped her hand gently but with a sense of comforting. As they exited the graveyard, they passed the grave with its plain stone headstone, which read 'Bruce Starr.', and the date of his birth and death. The couple did not so much as glance at it.
