"Hey Partner! Wanna go to the beach?" Nendou-kun asked, standing in the doorway of Kusuo-kun's house. "Oh? Hey (L/n)-chan!"

"Hi Nendou-kun!" I smiled, taking some joy in Kusuo-kun's slightly annoyed face.

"K-K-Kuu-chan's friend!?" Kurumi-san exclaimed beforing crying in joy. "This is the first time Kuu-chan invited a friends over that wasn't (N/n)-chan!"

"Oh? Saiki I didn't know you had a sister!" Nendou-kun's statement made the woman cry more. The two continued to talk until he mentioned the beach.

"Oh you're gonna take Kuu-chan to the beach? How nice!"

"Yep, I was gonna invite (L/n)-chan too. Good thing I don't have to find her house!" Nendou-kun laughed.

"Ooh! Hurry up you two, go get ready!"

"I would love to but-"

'I'm not going, I can't be both-' Kusuo-kun and I started before being interrupted by his mother.

"Your friend came all this way to invite you. You're both going to the beach."

"I never thought your mother's wrath would be aimed at me at any point." I said shivering from the memory of her glare. "I knew she was scary but I couldn't imagine the fear I felt when those eyes stared at me."

After changing into my swimsuit I walked out of the changing room. Looking around until I see Kusuo-kun's pink hair.

"Come on you guys! The water is so refreshing!" I heard Nendou-kun shout at the other two on the sand.

"Sorry for taking too long guys!" I said, running up to them.

"It's okay!" Nendou-kun smiled, before noticing my swimsuit. "Whoa! You look amazing in that (L/n)-chan!"

"Y-you think so?" I asked, starting to get self conscious. "Th-thank you."

After setting down my own towel I went into the water to swim. Of course Nendou-kun joined and we had a splash fest. Only until after a few minutes of the water fight did we notice the other two staying under the umbrella.

"Why are you guys just staying on the beach? The water is so refreshing!" I exclaimed. Nendou-kun and Kaidou-kun started to argue, ending with Kaidou-kun needed saving from Hairo-kun because he can't swim.

"Oh Hairo-kun! So nice to see you!"

"You too (L/n)-chan!"

"What are you doing here?" Nendou-kun asked. "Ya came here to swim too?"

"No, I'm volunteering as a lifeguard." Hairo-kun explained. "Well I'm going back to work. If you need help just yell!" Soon someone shouted that they were drowning.

"I'LL SAVE YOU!!" Hairo-kun dashed away immediately after hearing that shout.

"Wow, volunteering in this heat?"

"Saiki-kun, you aren't gonna swim?" I asked as I sat next to him.

'Don't worry about me. Go have some fun.' I pouted a little.

"Geez, that guy doesn't understand the sea! It's meant to be looked at not swimmed in!" Kaidou-kun said as he took out two hoop floats. "But if you want to go in I have an extra on for you Saiki."

'No thanks.' Kusuo-kun replied. 'You can act chummy if you want but at least I know how to swim.'

'Kusuo-kun! Be nice!' I sighed, resting my head on Kusuo-kun's shoulder. 'You know for an all powerful psychic, you sure are boring sometimes.'

'Exactly, that's how I like to be.' I sighed again, I could hear Nendou-kun sigh too.

"Man, it's boring if I swim by myself." He then looked around to see a lot of women. "Well, time to pick up some ladies!"

"You kidding man?" Kaidou-kun exclaimed. "With your face you have no luck!"

"Ladies don't care about looks! They care about spirit!"

As Nendou-kun went away Kusuo-kun grabbed my hand and the two floats. 'Come on.' He said as he used his powers to whisk us far out into the ocean. 'Much better.'

"Why did you drag me with you?" I asked, trying to get comfortable in the float. "I mean, it's less noticeable if you're by yourself."

'You're the most tolerable person I know.' He stated, before purposefully falling out of his float and sinking down into the ocean.

"Tch. You're lucky you're able to just go underwater with no problem at any time you want." I said, just letting myself float around. Of course my float wasn't moving an inch, due to Kusuo-kun forcing it to stay next to the empty float. "What's it like down there?"

'Honestly it's quite relaxing. If I go far enough I'm able to just think without any thoughts interrupting me.' Kusuo-kun explained. 'Thought it's interesting to see what strange things are down here.'

"Huh...if it's so relaxing then again, why am I here?"

'Do I need to repeat myself?' I giggled, able to read between the lines of his words.

"No, I get what you're saying. Hmm?" I look over to the beach and I suddenly a women swimming towards me. But it seemed she couldn't make because she started to drown!

"Kusuo-kun! That women's drowning!" I tried to get up but it's hard to do that in a float.

'Nendou-kun is going to save her, don't put yourself in danger.'

"I have to help somehow!" I exclaimed, I heard the psychic sigh in my head.

'Hairo is gonna help him too. Everything is under control.' Soon we both see Kaidou-kun and Hairo-kun starting to drown, causing Nendou-kun to try and save all three. The psychic sighed again. 'What a pain, grab the other float (Y/n).'

"Got it." I reached over and grabbed the item, just in time as I see Nendou-kun standing in the deep waters. Soon I feel the float being tugged by Kusuo-kun's powers and brought back to shore.

"You okay Miss?" I asked the lady as she finished coughing out water.

"Yeah." She then turned to Nendou-kun and bowed. "Thank you very much for saving me! I'm sorry I said those rude things earlier." After Nendou-kun excepted her thanks and apology we packed up and left the beach.

'Hey Kusuo-kun, maybe next you'll take me underwater? I wanna see!'

'Maybe, don't count on it though.'

"Kusuo-kun! We're out of barley tea!" I exclaimed as I drank the last of my tea.

'Who's fault is that?'

"It's hot okay! Use my money if you have to!" I whined, moving to sit in front of the fan that was set up. "Just get the barley tea!"

'Don't whine like a baby. Fine, I'll get the tea. What a pain.'

"Thank you Kusuo-kun!"

That was almost an hour ago, usually Kusuo-kun took only a couple minutes. That either means he's in a crowded space or he's dealing with someone. I sighed, my boredom increasing each passing minute without Kusuo-kun. I mean his powers are my entertainment, not because I miss him like that!

Wait...when was I able to break the fourth wall like Kusuo-kun?

Anyway. I stood up, deciding to go look for the psychic.

"Man where can he be?" I asked to no one in particular. I had tried calling for him via his telepathy but that did nothing. So I was just walking the same route that Kusuo-kun does when he goes to buy things. It was hard considering the crowd, I can see why it's taking the pinkette awhile.

"Saiki don't leave me!" I heard a feminine voice exclaimed. I looked to see Kusuo-kun dodging a blue haired female, wait that's actually Teruhashi-chan.

'Ya need help buddy?' I asked in my head, seeing him froze for a second. He didn't look my way but I see the faintest of his head shaking.

'Don't, you won't be able to help.'

'Come on! I can help in some way!' I pouted, ignoring a feeling whenever she gets close to my best friend. 'What if I pretended to be your girlfriend?'

'Teruhashi would immediately spread it around somehow.'

'I thought perfect girls don't gossip.' I huffed, seeing Teruhashi-chan trying desperately to touch Kusuo-kun. I was persistent on helping him until he told he didn't want to be caught in the most likely situation if I suddenly came into the picture. 'Oh fine, I won't help directly.'

'You won't help at all.' I huffed at his tone and just began to silently follow then, keeping my distance of course.

Suddenly I see a familiar face, it's Nendou-kun! 'Crap, Kusuo-kun twelve o'clock. Nendou-kun!'

'Crap! Of all places...'

I immediately get a bit close, luckily I'm able to blend into crowds easily without Teruhashi-chan noticing. We continued to walk, passing the tall male. 'Phew! That was a close one eh, Kusu-.'

In an instant I see the street below me, my brain now registering something holding my arm. I turn my head to see Kusuo-kun looking over my shoulder at Teruhashi-chan. I don't know what was going through her head, but I could hear Kusuo-kun's reaction.

'Offu'

I don't know what came over me, but I suddenly felt sad. Of course I tried not to think about the sudden feeling and thought about the barley tea. "Hey Kusuo-kun, you did get the right kind of tea yeah?"

He didn't respond, making me more sad. Until he flicked the back of my head. 'Of course I did you idiot.'

In that instant the sadness went away after hearing the slight playful tone in my best friend's voice. I smiled, turning my head as best as I could to face him. "Okay! Just making sure!"
