Chapter 81: Saying Bye

Running up the stairs, I hollered back, "We're at Garth's house, quit cussing. You woke their baby."

"Sorry," Marcey said when we got in the room. Bess walked straight past us to get to Kevin.

"How's your head?" I asked Marcey. She was sitting up on the quilt covered Guest bed.

"It hurts a little. What happened?"

"Kushiel threw you into a wall," AJ explained.

"Right," Marcey nodded and held a hand to her head. "Did we get him?"

"Ethan stabbed him," I said.

"Where is he?" Marcey asked looking around.

"He's passed out in the room next door, Kushiel cut his arm pretty bad, that's why we came to Garth's."

"Is he okay?"

"He'll be fine," I assured her.

Marcey walked around us. "Which room?" She started heading the wrong way, so Aubrey grabbed her arm and led her into the room Ethan was in. He was still asleep and still had a big, ugly, gash on his arm.

"He has claws," Marcey noted. Ethan was in werewolf form.

"Yeah when we brought him here he kept shifting back and forth," I explained. "That's why we didn't go back to the motel. Don't worry he'll be fine in a bit, other than the scar."

AJ walked over by Ethan. She looked down and pressed two fingers to his forehead. Light surrounded her and Ethan, and when it stopped blinding us, the claws were gone, the cut was a scar, and Ethan was awake. Ethan looked around and grabbed his arm. "What happened?"

"You passed out," AJ swatted him on the back of the head. "I was worried. We're at some ex hunters house named Garth."

"Weird sock puppet guy?" Ethan asked me and Marcey.

"Yeah that one," I said. "He stitched up your arm. You were growing claws and stuff, so we couldn't go back to the motel."

"Are you kids hungry?" asked Bess. We all jerked around. Bess was standing in the doorway. "We have pie and ice cream."

"So your arm is all better?" Bess asked Ethan.

"I did that," explained AJ.

"AJ is half angel," explained Marcey. "We both are, she's my cousin."

"Can I hold Kevin?" asked Aubrey.

Bess frowned and looked at Kevin. "Um I don't think that's a good idea. He's been teething, and he's going through a biting phase."

"Oh." Aubrey looked slightly horrified and quickly shoved more pie in her mouth.

"Can I hold him?" asked Ethan. Seeing as Ethan was already a werewolf, Bess agreed to let him hold Kevin.

"So we have three guest rooms and some air mattresses we can set up."

"You don't have to go to all that trouble," I said. "We really ought to be driving back to the Bunker."

"You shouldn't be driving, especially in the middle of the night. You can all stay here until Sam or Dean come to get you."

I had been really happy we got to meet Garth and Bess, and really grateful for all the help, but I needed to find Hannah and sort out all these heaven related things. Plus all the potions hiding my trials symptoms were in a bag in the motel. "Really we don't want to impose on you."

"It's no trouble," she insisted. "Plus you need to be careful about the police in this neighborhood. This is a small town, they pull over unfamiliar cars."

I did have a homemade drivers license but there was always the chance they would figure out it was fake or recognize us from the news six months ago. We could not get arrested.

"We can stay for a little while longer I guess."

"Okay I have a question," Garth said. "Who's the new me?" We just stared blankly at him. "You know like who pretends to be FBI and gives advice to everyone? Is it Sam?"

"Uh," Ethan shrugged. Munching on some random animal's heart. It was kinda weird that five people were eating hearts, while the rest of us were eating cereal. The babies were eating animal hearts blended up with peas. The sight of Garth spooning red and green goop into the mouths of children was a bit disconcerting.

"We don't really talk to other hunters much," said Marcey.

"I don't think anyone is," I said. "I mean it's not like you died. People figured you were coming back, so they made temporary solutions, then those turned permanent cause you never came back. People are probably still wondering where you went."

"Nobody knows where I am?" Garth asked. "Sam and Dean didn't say anythin?"

"Yeah they called up all your old Hunter buddies. 'Hey there's an entire pack of friendly werewolves in Wisconsin and Garth is one of them now.'" Ethan said.

"But what if somebody needs help or to know how to kill a ghoul? Who do they call?"

"You're right," I agreed. "We can look at setting up some kind of network when we get back to The Bunker. It was kinda made for that anyway."

The next day, when Dean knocked on the door, and Garth pulled Dean into an obviously unwanted hug, which Dean returned after a surprised 'oof', we were almost sad to go.

Garth let go beaming at Dean. "So your kids are over here," Garth gestured into the living room.

"They aren't mine," Dean grumbled. Then he noticed the babies. "Those definitely aren't mine."

"Oh this is Bobbi," he pointed at his daughter, "and Kevin," he pointed at his son. "Bobbi Deanna Fitzgerald, and Kevin Samuel Fitzgerald."

"Deanna?" Dean repeated.

"Bess didn't like Bobbi Samantha," Garth explained.

"I'm honored," Dean said. "Really it's awesome. Can I hold her?"

"She bites," said Aubrey quickly.

"Oh and she's a . . . So I would . . . Got it. We only let Ethan hold them right? Nobody got bitten?"

"We're fine," I said. "Garth and Bess wouldn't let us hold the babies. We really need to go, there's another war in heaven we have to fight it. Garth it was nice meeting you thank you for saving my friends' life and tell the same to Bess for us but we have to go."

Garth hugged everyone. "Hold on just a second," Garth ran upstairs, in a way that was actually funny since no one was passed out and dying in a car. Garth came back down holding a small box, and a dark blue duffle bag, and a worn leather bound book. "Since I'm erm . . . retired and all I thought you and Same could use some of this." He held the box out, "these are keys to my safe houses and safe house boat," he held out the bag, "all the hunting gear from my car," finally, he carefully held out the tattered book with both hands. "This is my hunter's journal. Every monster I ever found or fought or met up until I got turned. I want you to have it."

"I can't take that," Dean said.

"Dean, I'm done hunting. I'm done for good."

"You can't know that for sure."

"I do. And imagine if little Bobbi or Kevin grows up and they find this? This isn't stuff for kids."

"You're not going to tell them what's out there?"

"They are what's out there," Garth retorted. "Take it. I want you and Sam to have it."

::: Time skip brought to you by the science side of tumblr:::

"So what was with the whole book thing at Garth's" AJ asked. "Why didn't you want it?"

"It's not that I didn't want it," Dean was brushing the salt line off our motel window. "It's just, that was Garth's hunting journal. It's kind of a big deal. Hunters journals have all the information from every hunt they've been on. You find out how to kill a dragon, or the location of a hell gate, you write it down."

"So it's valuable."

"No it's more than that," Aubrey broke in. "Information hunters put in journals, you have to hunt to get that. You have to get out there risk your life, lose every once of normality and hunt. Garth gave up everything he had, with almost no benefit for himself, and the only lasting evidence of that sacrifice, is in the journal that he gave Dean."

"Huh. Never thought about it that way before," I zipped my duffle up, and slung it over my shoulder. I was feeling woozy again. I hadn't taken anything for the hell-trials-sickness in a few days. I needed to get away from everyone else and take a potion out of my duffle. "We need to get my car."

"Cas and I will fly back for it when we get back to The Bunker. You can't drive Maria you look really tired."

"I-It's just been really stressed with all the almost dying and I just really want to get heaven under control. Plus there aren't enough seats in the impala."

"I'll fly back," Marcey offered. "And I'll see if I can get Hannah to come into The Bunker."

"That's settled then."

I felt a wave of nausea, and the walls started melting. "I have to go to the bathroom before we go," I lied. I needed to get alone so I could take one of the anti-trials-sickness-potions in my duffle bag. I staggered toward the door.

"Maria?" Jason asked uneasily.

"I'm fine I just . . . I need to . . . " I fell over on the floor and everything went black.

A/N

Hey peoples!

So war in heaven, a lot of almost dying, and how the heck is Maria going to explain the passing out?

Find out on next weeks episode.

Yes I'm a dork and I'm evil because I like to leave these on cliff hangers. Sorry I haven't been on here in several weeks.

There are like what, ten of you guys? It seems like there used to be more, but then again I've been writing this for over a year. Thanks for sticking with me and thanks to those of you who read these authors notes.

No promises on updates any time soon. Sorry I'm going to Harry Potter world and Disney land this week for choir. I might write while I'm there I might not. I have to share a hotel room so I don't want people to ask what I'm doing. I might Check if I can get one of my friends to write a POV for a different character.

Sorry about the short crappy chappy and the long authors note.

LURV CHU ALL!!!
