❛ the night of the comet❜

The next day came quickly and soon enough it was time to go back to school again. After getting dressed and picking Jeremy up I headed towards school and went to tanners class. The one class I never wanted to go to.

Getting to class I pretty much blocked Tanner out as Stefan and Elena continued to flirt. Once the bell rang I immediately left and walked up to Caroline and Bonnie smiling at them.

"I'm confused. Are you psychic or clairvoyant?" Caroline questioned Bonnie confused.

"Technically, Grams says I'm a witch. My ancestors were these really cool Salem witch chicks or something. Grams tried to explain it all, but she was looped on the liquor so I kinda tuned out. Crazy family, yes. Witches? I don't think so," Bonnie told her making me smile at Bonnie.

"Maybe I could be a witch. Then we can be witch besties!" I told Bonnie smiling excitedly making her laugh at me.

"Yeah, well, feel free to conjure up the number of that guy Rosie was talking to last night," Caroline said making me shake my head at her.

"I didn't see him, you and Rosie did. Why didn't you just talk to him?" Bonnie questions Caroline who just shrugs.

"I don't know. I was drunk," Caroline said making me laugh as we continued walking to our next period. As we were walking I looked and saw Tyler and Jermey arguing I sighed and started walking up to them leaving Bonnie and Caroline.

"Walk away, Gilbert. It's your final warning," Tyler said as I got closer and Jeremy glared at him.

"No, this is your final warning, dick. I'm sick of watching you play Vicki. If you hurt her one more time, I swear to God, I will kill you," Jermey told Tyler as I went to stand behind him.

When Jeremy turned around to walk away I was standing right there making him and Tyler look wide-eyed as they saw my arms crossed and annoyed expression.

"What is going on here boys?" I questioned them making both gulps as they looked at me wide-eyed. I sighed shaking my head at them.

"You both deserve both than someone who will never love either of you the way you want to. You deserve better than Vicky Donavan. Also if you either ever fight because of her I will beat both of your asses," I told them with a sweet smile before walking.

"She's scary sometimes," Tyler whispered as he watched his best friend smile and wave at everyone as she walked by like she didn't just threaten them.

"Yes, she is," Jeremy said agreeing with him.

After talking with the boys I headed walking down the hallways turning in work for teachers since I already finished it. I could be a year ahead of everyone else but I wanted to with my twin.

As I was walking down the hallway I heard a heard annoying voice.

"It's an impossible job, isn't it, raising two teens?" Tanner questioned someone unknown.

"It's been tough, but, no, it's not," I heard Jenna say. I immediately walked closer to the classroom knowing Tanner was about to say something Tanner like.

"Wrong answer. It is an extremely impossible job, and anything less and you're not doing it properly," Tanner said and I saw red and throw the door open making them both look at me. Tanner glared and Jenna with tears in her eyes.

"Oh shut up! You know nothing about raising two teenagers because if you don't have any. If you haven't noticed you're almost forty and still single. She is trying her best so do not shame her. I believe she is doing an amazing job and if I hear you ever talk to her like that I will go straight to my mother the sheriff. Jenna come on," I said glaring at Tanner as Jenna hurried up and left the classroom.

"Watch your back Tanner," I told him glaring as I left the classroom with Jenna. As we got to her car she broke down crying and I brought her into a hug.

"Jenna he is wrong you are doing an amazing job and I know for a face that both Elena and Jermey appreciate you. If you want I can talk to Jermey," I told Jenna and she smiled at me hugging me tighter.

"Thank you, Rosie," she told me and I smiled at her hugging her tightly.

"Of course Jenna. Now go home and open a bottle of wine and forget everything he said," I told Jenna making her laugh as she got into the car.

"Will do. Thank you Rosie again," Jenna told me and I smiled waving her off.

"It's nothing. Your family and I protect my family. Now go and be careful. I love you, Jenna." I told her making her smile at me with tears falling down her face.

"Love you too," Jenna told me and I smiled at her as she closed her door and waved once more before driving off. I sighed before getting my things and going to find Elena. I was her ride to the grill.

Soon enough we arrived at the grill. We all started folding pamphlets for tonight's Comet.

"Well, I was talking to Grams, and she said the comet is a sign of impending doom. The last time it passed over Mystic Falls, there was lots of death. So much blood and carnage, it created a bed of paranormal activity," Bonnie said and I smiled at her.

"I miss Grams I'm going to have to see her soon," I told Bonnie making her smile at me nodding.

"Yeah, and then you poured Grams another shot and she told you about the aliens. So then what," Caroline said to Bonnie before looking over to Elena for the last part. Apparently, she and Stefan had talked all night and Caroline didn't believe that's all that happened.

"So then nothing," Elena told Caroline shaking her head.

"You and Stefan talked all night? There was no sloppy first kiss or touchy-feely of any kind?" Caroline questions her as I shake my head at her.

"Nope. We didn't go there," Elena tells Caroline.
"Not even a handshake? I mean, Elena, we are your friends. Ok? You are supposed to share the smut," Caroline told her making some people look towards the four of us.

"Eww please don't," I told Elena making her blush.
"We just talked for hours," Elena told Caroline.

"OK, what is with the blockage? Just jump his bones already! Ok, it's easy. Boy likes girl, girl likes boy, sex!" Caroline told her making me shake my head at my twin.

"Profound," Elena says before thinking of something then getting up.

"Where are you going?" Bonnie questions her.

"Caroline's right. It is easy. If I sit here long enough, I'll end up talking myself out of it instead of doing what I started the day saying what I was going to do," Elena says as she starts walking away. She then comes back and looks at me with pleading eyes.

"And you are my ride so can you please take me?" Elena asked me making me sigh as I got up grabbing the milkshake that I ordered.

"Fine but if it starts getting heated I'm leaving. Unless you want a threesome," I told her making her look at me wide-eyed as I busted out laughing.

"I'm just kidding Elena now come on," I told her as I got into my car.

Soon enough we arrived at the boarding house. Elena went in first as I was texting my mom where I was so she didn't worry. As I start walking towards the door I hear Elena's voice.

"He didn't tell me he had a brother," Elena says confused. I then hear a familiar voice.

"Well, Stefan's not one to brag. Please, come. I'm sure Stefan will be along any second," Damon said and I smile walking inside the house.

"Damon!" I said with a happy expression making him turn to me with a smile.

"Cupcake it's good to see you again," Damon said and I smile walking up to him and pulling him into a hug. He tenses at first before hugging me back.

"Cupcake?" I question him making him smile at me and me laugh.

"You two know each other?" Elena questions and I smile nodding at her.

"Yep, I meet him last night at the grill as I was waiting for Caroline to sober up," I told Elena making her nod as we walked more into the house.

"Wow. This is your living room?" Elena questions amazed as I look around thinking it was large.

"Living room, parlor, Sotheby's auction. It's a little kitschy for my taste. I see why my brother's so smitten. It's about time. For a while there, I never thought he'd get over the last one. Nearly destroyed him," Damon said looking at Elena. I look towards him confused before shrugging my shoulders and smiling as I see the bourbon.

"The last one?" Elena questions him confused.
"Yeah. Katherine, his girlfriend? Oh, you two haven't had the awkward exes conversation yet," Damon said looking guilty but I could tell he wasn't.

"Nope," Elena says annoyed and I just roll my eyes at her. They have known each other for less than a week of course he isn't going to tell her everything.

"Oops. Well, I'm sure it'll come up now. Or maybe he didn't want to tell you because he didn't want you to think he was on the rebound. We all know how those relationships end," Damon tells her making me look at her confused and concerned.

"Not all relationships are doomed to end Dames," I told him making him smile over at me.

"I'm a fatalist Cupcake. Hello, Stefan," Damon says and I look over to the entrance to see Stefan standing there looking angry and tense.

"Elena. Rosie. I didn't know you both were coming over," Stefan said but he was looking at Damon the entire time.

"I know. I should have called, I just...," Elena started to say before Damon interrupted her.

"Oh, don't be silly. You're both welcome any time. Aren't they, Stefan? You know, I should break out the family photo albums or some home movies. But...I have to warn you. He wasn't always such a looker," Damon said making Elena smile at I just continue watching the two concerned.

"Thank you for stopping by, Elena. Rosie. Nice to see you both," Stefan said still looking at Damon. I could tell he was getting angrier by the second but I didn't know why.

"Yeah, I should probably go. It was nice to meet you, Damon," Elena tells him as she looks towards me and waves me over.

"Great meeting you, too, Elena," Damon tells her smile as Elena starts heading for the exit but Stefan is blocking Elena's way as he stares at Damon.

"Stefan....Stefan?" Elena questions but Stefan doesn't even look at her he just moves making Elena sigh as she leaves.

"Bye Dames. We will have to get together soon. Also, your bourbon is amazing," I told him with a smile making him laugh at me.

"Yes, we will Cupcake," Damon told me making me smile at him as I hugged him once more surprising him again but I was hugger he would have to get used to it.

I then walked over to Stefan who was still glaring at Damon. I sighed shaking my head as I brought Stefan into a hug as well surprising him.

"Bye Steffie. Also, whatever is going on with two maybe just talk it out. You are brothers no matter how much you don't want to be," I told them smiling softly as I walked out the door and to the car missing their surprised expressions and Stefan looking at Damon suspiciously not liking the way he was with me.

Soon enough it was time for the comet. I was walking with Caroline helping light people's candles.

"Hey, Rosie can I wear your bracelet tonight?" Caroline questioned as she looks at the bracelet that Grayson gave me for my birthday. I smile at Caroline giving it to her. She smiled smelling it.

"I love the smell of it. What is it again?" Caroline asked me as I continued smiling at everyone.

"I don't know. He said it was some type of herb. I think it started with a v. I can't remember," I told her making her smile at me and nod as we continued walking around and smiling at everyone.

Soon enough Care and I go inside the grill and seat with everyone as we were laughing and talking Jermey suddenly appeared. I smile at him but he just continues to look around worried.

"Hey, has anyone seen Vicki?" Jeremy questions making me sigh knowing he deserved better. Both he and Tyler did.

"You're her stalker. You tell us," Tyler tells him making me poke him in the ribs but he just ignores me.

"I can't find her," Jeremy says worried still looking around.

"She probably found somebody else to party with. Sorry, pill pusher, I guess you've been replaced," Tyler says making me look towards Jermey with wide eyes.

"What's with the pill pusher?" Elena questions Tyler as I continue to look at Jeremy.

"Ask him," Tyler says as he points to Jermey.
"You wanna do this right now?" Jeremy questions Tyler who smirks.

"Are you dealing?" Elena questions Jermey who just glared at Tyler incoming his sister.

"She's never gonna go for you," Tyler tells Jermey.
"She already did. Over and over and over again," Jeremy said making everyone look at him wide-eyed but me who already knew.

"Yeah, right," Tyler says scoffing not believing it.
"You slept with Vicki Donovan? I mean, Vicki Donovan slept with you?" Caroline questions him surprised.

"There's no way," Tyler says shaking his head.
"And I didn't even have to force her into it," Jeremy says making me look towards Tyler wide-eyed.

"What the hell is he talking about, Ty?" Matt questions his best friend with his arms crossed.

"Nothing, man, just ignore him, he's a punk," Tyler says making me shake my head at him.

"You know what, how about all of you shut up and help me find my sister?" Matt questions as he gets up and starts to leave

"We'll check the back," Bonnie says as she and Caroline get up. I was still staring at Tyler who wasn't looking at me.

"I'll check the square," Matt says as Jermey nods.
"I'll come with you," Jeremy says as he tries to follow him but Elena stops him. I ignore them looking at Tyler.

"Did you?" I question him in a calm voice. Tyler sighs looking over at me.

"I was drunk but we didn't do anything and she pushed me off," Tyler told me making me shake my head and grab my stuff.

"Rosie! Rosie stop!" Tyler yells as he starts to follow me but I didn't stop.

"Rosalie!" Tyler yells grabbing my arm softly stopping me.

"I can't believe you! I remember vividly having this conversation with that when a girl says no it means no!" I yell at him making him look down in shame.

"Yeah, you should feel upset! A girl's choice to do anything with you is her choice. You are an asshole for ever even thinking about ignoring it!" I yelled at him as I slapped him. He sighs nodding at me.

"You're right. I'm sorry," he told me making me shake my head at him.

"It's not me you need to apologize too," I told him as I started walking off. I pulled out my phone texting Caroline that I was heading home. She told me she was staying with Bonnie tonight meaning I would be home alone.

I sighed walking inside the house and heading to my room. I sighed as I got clothes and went to the bathroom to take a shower. Afterward, I got into my pj's and walked downstairs to get some ice cream when I hear a knock on the door.

I look at the time confused about who would be here at 11:30 at night. I walk towards the door moving the curtain to see who was there and surprise to see who was on my doorstep.

"Damon?" I question opening the door. He smiles at me sadly.

"Want to watch Disney movies as we eat our feeling with ice cream and cookies?" I question him making him nod at me.

"Then come on in," I told him making him smile as he walked in and headed towards the couch. I grabbed the blankets and cookies already seating the ice cream down. I then went to my dad's secret stash of alcohol he forget here grabbing a thing of bourbon.

"And I got this," I told Damon showing him the bourbon him smile as I handed it to him. Soon enough we started watching the princess and the frog.

"Cupcake?" Damon questioned from his spot on the couch as I sat in the recliner.

"Yeah Dames," I said looking towards him.

"Do you think I'm a monster?" He asks me making me turn towards him.

"Why would I think that Damon?" I ask him making him sigh as he turned to me.

"Because I'm a vampire," Damon told me making me look at him wide-eyed.
