Chapter 3

Chapter 2

"Who is she?"

"No idea. Why is she here in the middle of the year?"

"She isn't very pretty, and she doesn't look very experienced at fighting." A snooty voice commented haughtily.

Fighting? Why would I have to be good at fighting?

I opened my eyes to see three girls that I assumed to be my room-mates, wearing green matching cloaks, and one more. The extra had a sneer on her face. Her long brown hair was brushed flawlessly into a ponytail with noticeably recently cut ends. I had always thought that blue eyes were creepy, but her eyes were decidedly cruel. She had a very straight nose and looked a lot like my sister. I immediately knew I didn't like her. She didn't wear a cloak.

Two of the girls looked quite friendly. One was short and a little plump, with light brown hair that was also in a ponytail. Her eyes were dark and she wore a black shirt with a white triangle and BASTILLE printed beneath.

The other was of medium height, with blue hair and rather eccentric clothes. Ripped tights and a skirt fashioned after the Scottish kilt. She also wore a leather jacket with several badges and beads over a shirt of lime green. A Canon camera hung around her neck on a strap.

The last girl looked the definition of dark. Her black hair was cropped closely, and even her eyes were nearly black.

"Oh look, Sleeping Beauty is awake. Finally." The Bastille girl said. Maybe not so friendly.

"Does Sleeping Beauty drool? I can't remember." The girl that wasn't my room-mate laughed, along with the dark haired girl.

"You don't remember much, do you Aneira?" The red-haired girl snapped.

I couldn't help but laugh, and Aneira glared at me.

"Why are you here? You don't fit in." Tears prickled the corners of my eyes, but I couldn't cry, not in front of these people. I would be marked as a crybaby on my first day.

"I'm Brooke, by the way. "What is your name? I do hope that you aren't like these mindless sheep here that follow Aneira blindly. But, I must say, you do not look like an Earth Weathemental."

"I'm... My name is Cariad. Cariad Galon-Gwyn." I started with the simplest question."

"Liar." The dark haired girl sneered.

"Be quiet Eirlys. It is already obvious that she is a liar." Aneira chided her.

Eirlys scowled, but looked at her feet.

"You're right Brooke." I giggled. "They are mindless sheep."

Brooke laughed. "Are you really Cariad Galon-Gwyn?"

"Of course she isn't Brooke, don't be silly." Bastille girl said.

"I am! People keep asking me that, and saying I'm some sort of white heart, talking about Weathementals, and insulting me, and I am so tired of it! So don't you dare call me a liar you infuriating... you infuriating person!"

Aneira raised her eyebrows, and Brooke laughed.

"So you do not look like a Earth Weathemental, you claim your name is Galon-Gwyn and you are not a mindless sheep. May I ask you to accompany me on a walk of the grounds until first Ring?" She talked very eloquently and was quite verbose, but I like Brooke.

"Could I perhaps get changed first. Then I would be happy to." I grinned.

After getting changed into a pair of scruffy skinny jeans and a red hoodie, I met Brooke.

"I am so confused! What is the first Ring? What is an Weathemental? And why does everyone think I am lying about my name?"

Brooke smiled sympathetically.

"So your family are mortal then? Well Rings are the bells for lessons. We are Weathementals. Every single person in Y Ddraid Goch is. Earth Weathementals can control plants, trees, soil, things like that. Water Elementals can control ice and water, obviously. Fire Weathementals can heat things, and manipulate flames. Air Weathementals can fly, if they are strong enough, they can also control the weather, especially if they combine their powers with another Weathemental, like fire or water. And your name..."

"You are part of a long-lost prophecy, if you can believe it Carrie!" A male voice cut in.

"Fin! I can't believe you're here!" I hugged him, and he chuckled as he swung me around. Brooke gaped at us, wide-eyed.

"You did not tell me you had a boyfriend Cariad!"

Now it was I who gaped at her.

"What? No, I don't! Finch is one of my best friends! Really, Brooke."

"Yeah, sure, I believe you."

"So there is some prophecy thing? And I have come to some sort of Hogwart's cross Camp Half-Blood magic castle with people that control the elements." It was quite difficult to take in. Who was I kidding? I was magic? I had nearly fried my sister, and blown the Headmasters and Mistresses of the place over!

"Yeah. And the prophecy says that a White-Heart that is a descendant of Owain Glyndwr will be able to control all elements. And just like Owain Glyndwr, will save the Red Castle and all Weathemental's. But this time, it will be forever." Brooke explained.

"It has been centuries since the prophecy was created, so now everyone thought that when Owain Glyndwr's son died childless, that was the end. But apparently not."

Just then, the bell rung.

"Do you know where you first class is Carrie?"

"Um, I was to

"I was told to go to the office?" I hated how Finch made me blush.

"That's on the way to my class. I'll take you."

I grinned. "Okay. See you later Brooke!"

I hugged her, and Finch led me down the corridor.

"Carrie, about your sister, I had no idea. I am so sorry. But you will be happy here! The training is rough," Training? "-but it's worth it."

I nodded, weary already. I hate early mornings!"

Once in the office, I received a timetable and another cloak, but green and with a leaf imprint instead of a flame mark on the back, barely noticeable.
