Epilogue

"He failed you?" Tailstar gasped, aghast at Ice Talon's failure.

Xuvier growled, pacing and thrashing his whiplash tail. "Yes, and to think that of all the villains, it was to be him!" He seethed through gritted teeth. "Now he has been banished to our land! If he was here now, I would just swallow him up like I did to Flame!" He growled, and looked at his belly. Tailstar edged away from him.

Void, the Forbidden Dragon who had purple eyes, looked down at Tailstar. "Let's not forget your failure, Tailstar. And we indeed hope that you will accomplish your task." He stomped his claw down next to Tailstar. "Or you'll be joining Flame."

Tarminak, the Forbidden who had glowing red eyes, hissed. "Now, we are forced to live in this forest full of useless birds." He paused. "Now what do they call these woods again?" He looked around, and promptly uprooted a tree.

"Stop that!" Void hissed. "Do you want to alert the phoenixes of our whereabouts?" Tarminak grumbled, but reluctantly set back the tree. Astraioasis turned back towards Tailstar. "Now, as you were saying?"

Tailstar cleared his throat, and looked around. "My, I believe that we are in the birth place of Canyon, that little Hybrid." A mischevious smile slowly blew into his face.

Xuvier growled impatiently. "Yes, but do you know what it's called? You may act as if you have the upper claw, but remember that we Forbiddens may bite your head off in one careless crush." He snapped his jaws together, close to Tailstar's head. "Now, before I lose my patience, tell me what forest we are in! It's been quite a while since I've been to this world before."

Tailstar laughed. Okay, okay! No need to overreact! "They used to call this place the birthplace of Vuldrix's parents!" He paused, and looked at each Forbidden in the eye carefully. "We are in the Hunterless Woods."

The Forbidden laughed. "Ha! Hunterless, they say." Tarminak inquired. "Well, we'll show the world our true predatory!" He gnashed his fangs together. "That is, if we are allowed."

"No, Tarminak!" Xuvier said. "We must first uphold our closest and most ancient allies, first, and you all know who they are." The Forbidden nervously shuffled their talons.

"But you do know that once they are freed, there is no stopping them - unless we can get help from those Vhladkronkus Magic Dragons, it will be impossible to control them." Void interjected. "For they are a very powerful tribe of bloodthirsty monsters."

"Hmmmm..." Xuvier whore a thoughtful expression on his face. "I actually have a plan, but - WAIT!" He said as Tarminak was about to open his mouth to ask what. "It's not ready, actually. But..." He paused. "We will be the kings of this land anyway, and nothing will stop us then."

"You may be wrong at that..."  Void said nervously, and shook his head, ears pricked. "Be warned...for I sense the coming of a new prophecy." He looked up at the stars above.

Everyone stopped what they were doing, and listened.

    Void was right.

    Somebody was coming.

A dragon? A phoenix? Some other mythical being? Who knows! But whatever the cause, somebody was to come along and defeat the Forbidden.

Xuvier turned his head towards Void. "You know, I've always questioned your skill of hearing, but now I find it quite useful." He turned to everyone. "Curse Vuldrix for causing us more trouble!" He paused. "Everyone - HIDE!"

And the Forbidden slunk back into the shadows, fearing the worst yet to come.

And they were right to be frightened, for this was not to end.

The arise of a new prophecy would yet again take place to right the wrong, and ruin yet another plan.

    Canyon.
