The Prophecy

It was a cold, eery and morose morning for Marinette Dupain-Cheng. She woke up 10 minutes late to class with her clothes in the washing machine, absolutely tattered with filth.

Without anytime to spare, Marinette just put on a simple red and black spotted top with gold rhinestones around the rim and a black headband, slipping on some red flats.

Tikki woke up yawning cutely. She looked up and couldn't believe her eyes. She blinked a couple times to see the person still there.

"Is that me?" Tikki said shocked, looking at the Egyptian looking women.

Marinette turned around confused. "What's wrong Tikki?" She tilted her head. "It's me, Marinette?"

Tikki smiled forcefully. "Right..." She drawled. "Yeah I'm fine you just looked liked someone..."

Marinette curiously bent down. "Oh?" She asked. "Who?"

"Past acquaintance." Tikki answered, not daring to say anything more, Marinette nodded and picked the kwami up, putting her carefully in a black backpack.

Marinette looked at the time and froze, 9:30! She ran downstairs, grabbed a raspberry tart and ran out the door and slammed it with a loud bang that echoed and shook the hinges.

She bolted down the road and into the school, casually meeting shocked gazes of people walking about. She entered the school grounds and sighed.

She walked into the classroom and pushed open the door, all eyes on her. She quickly went to her seat and sat next to Alya, waving hi to her.

"You look like an Egyptian, girl!" Alya whispered, smiling.

"Really?" Marinette asked. "I didn't notice..."

"Okay class." Mrs Bustier clapped, turning on the projector screen.
"Today we will be learning all about the Egyptians and there origins."

Alya gave Marinette a skeptical look and pulled out her phone, ready to record.

Marinette started to squirm uncomfortably in her seat. She breathed as she felt a feeling of absolute dread and nerves entering her body, something didn't feel right.

"As you know, in ancient times there were different gods and religions." Mrs Bustier said showing an image of Egyptian papyrus record.

"Egyptians had followed the sun God, Ra, Moon god, Khonsu and many more gods and goddesses that were connected to the earths geology."

Mrs Bustier looked at us up and down. "There were also the two most strongest gods."

They all leaned in curiously when two pictures where plastered on the screen.

"Translated into English from the papyrus, these gods were, the supreme ruler of creation and luck." She said while Marinette raised a brow. "And the supreme ruler of destruction And bad luck."

"They were also known as lovers, they evened each other out."

"Like Yin and Yang?" Alya asked while Mrs Bustier nodded and smirked.

"They were known as Tikki Renenet and Plagg Bes-Alep."

Marinette's eyes widened profusely as she glanced at Tikki who was smiling at her 'holder' nervously.

Adrien also jumped and flinched back, glancing at his lap... Weird.

"They were Egyptian royalty and protected against the god of 'Osiris."

I squinted my eyes at the board as a large picture of two teens filled the screen.

"This is merely artwork scripted from sightings, stories and Egyptian paintings and pieces." Mrs Bustier smiled strangely at the bluenette who's heart was racing with anxiousness.

The whole class whipped their heads towards Marinette and stared at the screen and at her accusingly.

"Why does this 'Tikki' Look like Marinette?" Nino asked raising his hand.

Mrs Bustier smiled maliciously, her Night blue eyes turning a dark hazy purple.

"It just so happens that these egyptians have become Demi-gods and have reincarnated into people with powers to protect humans from people like me." She grinned.

"Tikki, the goddess of luck happens to have chose Marinette Dupain-Cheng to be a descendant of Ptah."

Marinette's eyes widened. How did she know this much? Who really was Mrs Bustier?

"I've been watching you Marinette." Mrs Bustier said raising Marinette's chin. "I know what've you're capable of."

"Join me." She smiled venom dripping down her face. "As I am one of the 3 descendants of the god Kuk."

Students screamed and jumped beneath there table while Adrien looked at Plagg expectantly.

"What's she on about?" He asked confused and worried.

Plagg looked serious and stern as he watched Marinette, the descendant of his goddess as she stood up. "Something bad..."

Marinette held her head in pain as lost memories of Tikki filled her mind. She saw sandy terrains and thrones, gods and goddesses, pyramids and blood shedding battles.

"'ana 'afham alan." Marinette whispered to the teacher. (I understand now)

Mrs Bustier grinned hearing Marinette remember her Arabic past life. "jayid 'annak alssahwa" (Good you're awakening)

"What's going on?" Alya screamed.

Marinette smiled up down at her friend and frowned. "I'm sorry Alya, but I'm not completely from this time."

"What?" The class said bewildered.

"She's right you know." Marinette exhaled. "I am a descendant."

Tikki floated up to Marinette's side. "It's the prophecy." She explained.

Marinette's bluebell eyes tightened shut, as to block out the stairs of criticism. "Descendants are hidden strangers." She started. "Hidden in plain sight in new forms but their spirits and souls lingering about." She explained further on.

"I always knew Mrs Bustier was different..." Plagg muttered. "But The descendant of Kuk?"

"I never noticed Mrs Bustier's real spirit because it was chained away like a demon." Marinette grimaced. "I knew she was different as she lead a insensate spirit."

"You know you're stuff." Mrs Bustier said rather impressed.

"I know more." Marinette clarified.

"Kuk was one of the oldest Egyptian gods in ancient Egyptian history is the deification of the primordial concept of darkness. The name Kuk means darkness, the god of the darkness of chaos before the creation was began. Besides Plagg,

According to the myth, there was a watery mass of dark, directionless chaos was the only thing existed on earth before there was land. There were four frog gods and four snake goddesses who lived this chaos. They were four pair of deities, Nun and Naunet, Amun and Amaunet, Heh and Hauhet and Kuk with Kauket who represents water, void, infinite time and darkness. This group of eight gods formed the Ogdoad. Then very first land was rose out of Nun in the form of mound.

Kuk appearance portrayed as a man with the head of frog or as a frog itself. Kauket appearance portrayed as a woman with the head of snake or as a snake itself. Kuk represented darkness, obscurity and night. However, although he was a god of the darkness, he was also associated with the dawn and given the title as the "bringer-in of the light". Marinette elocuted looking at Mrs Bustier un-appealingly.

"If you are the descendant of Kuc why aren't you good?" She asked.

"Because I am destined by the Egyptian project into avenge him." Mrs Busier rasped. "I was merely just a slave back in 3000 BC." She remembered the memory distastefully. "My mortal guardians were slaughtered by romans who stole my parents information and life theories." Mrs Bustier implored.

"He helped me."

"He made me who I am."

"He made me who I was today."

"He gave me powers and his strength."

"How come your Human?" She asked. "You said 'mortal' parents and unless... No... He took your soul as he knew the prophecy to."

"Très Bien." Mrs Bustier nodded, sitting on the desk.

"Why? Why do you want me?" Marinette interrupted.

"Because you are the key." She sneered. "I need you to go back to my time, avenge Kuc."

"The prophecy will be executed."

Mrs Bustier, who was recently revealed to be of an evil God, disappeared into a pile of black smoke.

The class steadily got up, feeling mixed emotions.

Marinette remembered the death of her god, As clear as day...

"Someday Marinette, the prophecy will be held and you're life, one way or another, will never be the same again."

Marinette let darkness over take her as she collapsed, Plagg flying to Tikki's side startling Adrien.

The prophecy will be uncovered sooner or later.

They looked at each other and glowed to their Human counterparts.

"We need all your help."

"Life will never be the same forever."

"Especially with Marinette being awakened and revealed."

The class looked at the girl slightly feeling betrayed.

Can they really trust her?
