The fight had gone on for hours, many had fallen victim to death, human and mobian alike, but the fighting didn't stop

"keep moving forward!" Cyrus shouted as he shot at robots and humans

but they kept getting pushed back, hundreds injured and hundreds tired and ready to accept their fate

some began to run in fear and defeat as they ran towards the destroyed trees and kept going, they were losing...and it scared them

Obsidian just laughed bitterly at heir attempt, but another beat began, different from the last and it echoed through the gun shots, the screams and the battle and it shook him to the bone, he knew then the battle was far from over

"it's now or never Blue, so hurry up!" Scourge growled as he snapped another's neck, his leg wounded and blood covering him from head to toe

"just by us some more time, thats all i ask!" Sonic shouted back as he and his siblings fought while trying to continue the beat

"you heard him, hold the line!" Shadow ordered

"i don't think we can for much longer! Zero's hurt!" Gadget yelled

"do what you can!"

"we need to leave!"

"live to fight another day!" 

"we need to retrea-"

"No! it's now or never!" Sonic growled as he glared at everyone "this is our home, our people, our city and you want to abandon it?!"

"you abandoned us!"

"I..." Sonic's voice had died in his throat as he stared at the angered faces

"Hey! He had his reasons! he rallied an army and you all remain ungrateful! do you know how much he's suffered?! No! You don't! Everyone would had given up if they had gone through what he did!" Manic snapped, making the ground rumble as he continued "You don't know what I went through, so suck it up and hold the line!"

this time they remained quiet as they turned back to fight

"...Thanks" Sonic mumbled as h sighed

"don't mention it bro" Manic smiled softly 

"Now lets finish this" Sonia smirked, her brothers joined her as the line was set and they began to play

the music reaching over the city, first like a soft melody, but it got louder and louder, until the entire battle field was filled with music

Someone take me home" the first words sung echoed throughout the battle, through the yells and trough the screams

"This isn't working!" Sonic yelled over the roaring crowds as obsidian stood over them all, humans and mobians dead, injured or still fighting, none stopped

"There's one thing we can do..." Sonic stated as he pulled the chaos emeralds out his siblings stared at him, unsure of what to make of this, but when the emeralds started cyrcling around them their fur changed to gold and their eyes to red, power surged at their fingertips as Obsidian bellowed in anger and threw attacks left and right, but none hit the triplets or the people below them, instead the attackes hit the ground and life bloomed anew

"No..." Obsidian spoke "No! This is my city! This is my legacy and you will die!" He yelled threw everything he had at them, but something over took Sonic, Sonia and Manic and they raised their arms up and golden light countered Obsidians blow and hit him directly, he screamed as he turned to ash in the winds, the humans in the battle field had vanished back to their homw planet, the metal on the robotsized mobains fell and faded to piles of rust, even Jules was freed from his prison

but nothing had finished just yet as the light fell from the sky and into the land, the dirt field they stood in was filled with grass and flowers like so many years before, the trees sprang with renewed with life and the polluted city returned to its once beautiful and vibrant city it had been sixteen years before

yet the triplets remained in the air and their fur golden, their faces blank, but that's when they descended downwards to the ground and was greeted with their people, their friends and their family, and ever so slowly their fur returned to normal and Sonic was embraced by his boyfriend Shadow

"You did it" Shadow said to him, Sonic shook his head with a wide smile

"We did it" Sonic smiled 

"We did indeed" Cyrus smiled, soon the crowd of people who had gathered started cheering for their freedom, for their lives and for their savours, the battle at long last had been won

"You truly are your father's children" Iblis smiled as brightly as she had in years, a weight finally lifted

"iT's good to know it's finally over" Aleena smiled as tears fell from her eyes

over the next few years, things went on in peace, there were no disruptions, and everything had been set back in order and remained that way, even to the future Silver had so willingly wished to save was freed from destruction
