(LUZES POV)

I'd stepped into the huge ass school thinking it's full to the brim with prestigious rich bitches but all I see is a group- like 20 kids- all dressed up lazily with dyed hair. I turn to Vee her natural blue hair strung in faded strands across her pinned back hair, I nudge her roughly and tease

"Hey look you're not alone Vee! This place rocks already"

Vee scowls as she texts her girlfriend maya, her eyes glued to the screen. One of the older kids call out to vee and me- my hair highlighted with light magenta pink in an almost incognito way only seen when I mess with my hair.

"Nice hair kid! Love the colors!"

Vee finally looks up and smiles, they wave us over and we join them gladly.
Leaning against the wall my button-up sweater slung over my shoulder lazily a really emo girl or atleast I thought they were a girl until they corrected me by saying 'they' smirks at my lame ass attempt at socializing

"I like your attitude kid! oh and my names dean just so we don't call eachother kid and dude alot"

They say with that cheezy smirk, I chuckle lightly and reply with a flat uninterested tone.

"Luz- and you're pretty badass yourself"

Dean's smile widens obviously not reading my flat tone, they start flirting with me.

"We should totally chill sometime I bet we could totally hit it off"

They add in a whisper against my ear

"If you understand me.. hm??"

My spine shivers in discomfort, I look at dean a heavy level of resistance in my following tone, vee looks at me obviously hearing dean her expression just as uncomfortable.

"Sorry dean..thank you for the offer and all but I'm taken... and I'm not comfortable with the idea of polyamorous relationships or your- onward intentions"

I then walk down to my common room, reading the board to see nothing indicating dean is in this one- and I was right. Vee sits next to me in one of the open armchairs, her tone very uncomfortable with the situation involving dean as she says

"Did a held back nineteen year old just- ask to get laid...??"

One of the girls from earlier scoots a small round stool to us and sits down, she purses her lips and sighs

"Held back TWENTY year old- sorry about them.. Luz was it??"

I nod once and run my fingers through my hair in discomfort to the memory

"I'm amber...and I promise I won't be a sexual deviant and pedo like dean since I'm almost 17 n all-... and quite taken"

I sigh relieved to the fact of someone in my age group, amber laughs gently.

"Finally someone I can relate to- no offense Vee"

Vee shakes her head disappointed but chuckles, amber running a loose strand of hair behind her ear as she looks at my phone on amity's chat

"Is that your partner??"

She asks not wanting to assume as she studys the photo of amity in my sweater while she makes a heart with her hands, I nod with a smile opening the picture to show her. She starts snickering, giving me back my phone

"Better not open that photo around the dean- not to be confused with DEAN- it's like poison to him to see someone NOT a student wear his uniforms"

We both chuckle together and she adds quietly

"She's pretty cute- love the hair.. she should totally be snuck in one weekend- we play party games every Saturday"

I look to the side to think about the idea of ami coming here discreetly in my mind I then nod, swiftly hiding my face in my sleeve then take it away.

"Like what party games..?"

I then ask in confusion but mostly curiousity, she smirks and leans forward.

"Depending on the time? We do mostly competitive video games but sometimes we do truth or dare- though rarely... dean sneaks in and forces that- and hopes to get laid forcefully.."

Vee groans and amber shakes her pointer finger at her to say silently 'hear you there girl'. I clap my hands together and feel my mischievous side take affect, I accidentally say just slightly louder than a whisper.

"So dean's practically a pedo- I feel a rebellion starting.. maybe one That'd end with dean being kicked out."

The kids in their chairs around us lean forward in interest, amber smirks heavily her chuckle slightly evil, I cross my arms... half an hour into this school and I'd started a rebellion. Leaning back still chuckling I remark slyly,

"So...my only observation- is that we got to CATCH them on video because they've got to be doing someone- just so they can get ass and not get in real big trouble.."

Vee turns to me and says fully volunteering to my little cause

"I'll play decoy luz"

I grimace and ask her salt in my tone

"Don't you have a girlfriend Vee??"

Vee nods, looks down and texts maya

'looks like I can't volunteer to stop their reign of pervertism'

Before sighing her basilisk eyes fading onto her face, I point at my eye to tell her to which she nibbles on the end of a hexus hold'em card like She's nervous her eyes closed to make that nervous look complete. I pat her shoulder to continue the fake act and she looks at me annoyed

"You'll trap em next time you're single Vee."

She pushes me away and grumbles, standing up I go to leave to somewhere more private

"I'll be back in a few hours Vee- I promised am I'd call her"

Vee nods uncomfortable with the idea of me being alone with pervert on the loose but she lets me leave.

Walking to the sunset lit courtyard, I call amity smiling brightly when she immediately picks up

"Hey you~ I missed you baby.. I hope you did too"

I say lovingly as amity chuckles on the other side, the sound of sheets rustling as she says in a precious tone

"You already know that I miss you wildcat... It's so boring here now.."

I snicker slightly and close my eyes as I lean my head onto the small cottonwood tree behind me, amity grumbles jokingly to my snickers her breath escaping in a heavy sigh.

"So...how is it there luz..?"

I scoff disgustedly and hear her sigh gently.

"Despite a twenty year old trying to bone me?? It's pretty cool- my new friend actually suggested that you sneak in one Saturday to this- game night thing"

Her voice answers slightly hostile but not towards me,

"O k hold the phon-"

I interrupt her to joke lovingly

"I am~"
"Shush it you- let me finish... a twenty year old WHAT?!"

I chuckle sourly and hide my eyes behind my hand, mumbling angrily.

"There's this nonbinary kid blowing someone high up in this school so they can stay here to illegally date teenagers and they tried getting a piece of my ass probably in a broke down car they try to call theirs- but I broke their heart when I told them I'm taken.. I think I'm the first person to ever decline them"

Amity laughs gently on the other side, resting my head on my shoulder I hear her whisper 'that's my favorite wild girl...' I mutter gently in a slightly sad manner

"I miss you ami...I'm so tempted to bring you over this weekend.."

She puts on video chat and I immediately smile as she giggles her face flushed, blowing her a kiss she pretends to catch and eat it.

"So...why don't you?? I like trouble"

I look to the side then back at her, she smiles and I swear my heart implodes. I smile back at her and blush gently, she pulls the collar of my sweater to her nose to try and successfully seem adorable.

"Fine... I think I will"

"Oh hey kid!"

I look up my face startled to see dean, I stand up picking up my sidebag and sling it over my shoulder, they look disappointed but cage me against the tree.

"Aww... leaving so soon?"

I hold up my phone to show them I'm on a call, they smirk taking it the whole wrong way.

"Good... I have an audience"

Then throws my phone to the ground the call having been ended when it hit the grass, I snarl at them angrily they chuckle.

"You must be taking it from someone really important dean- twenty years old and still in the tenth grade... yikes- that must make your mommy real proud~ now if you'll excuse me I have to call my girlfriend who is probably on her way to kick your ass"

And...like clockwork- entering right stage.

"Personal is better than calling luz"

I turn swiftly to amity, grabbing her hand to spin her in a circle, I say completely forgetting about dean

"How's my sunflower eyed baby doing??"

She looks over my shoulder and glares at dean, turning around I see them genuinely disappointed that I wasn't lying. Amity's voice hissing protectively,

"Find out another word you're around my girlfriend by ANYONE.. and I'll make sure you don't exist"

They freeze up swiftly and nod, their eyes darting nervously everywhere. Taking amity's hand I walk to my common room where Vee and amber chat happily away about their significant others, ambers eyes lock with mine then she stands up to take in amity gripping my arm nervously.
Looking around I see nobody else but the four of us, sitting down amity joins me not liking this private academy one bit.

"Hey I'm amber! You must be luzes cute girlfriend"

Amity shakes amber's extended hand kindly, saying in a hushed voice.

"I'm- amity... thank you for the compliment-"

Looking at amity I smile reassuring her dean's the only weirdo in the entire school, sighing when she looks worriedly at me.

"I had a little run in with..pervy McHorndog...thats why am is here-
And if she wasn't I'd probably be dean's next meal"

I kiss her forehead gently and whisper discreetly

"You're my paladin in bright platinum armour... thank you"

She smiles and rests on me, amber starts groaning loudly- vee claps her hands and points at me.

"SEE AMBER FIVE BUCKS I had a FEELING!"

amity looks at me confused, I respond just as confused she clears her throat to gather their attention, she looks awkward to speak but says kinda flat.

"Had a feeling about what..?? Did you two make a bet or something??"

Amber nods swiftly and Vee shakes her head no, one truth and the other a lie...and based upon the nervous look from vee- amber's side's the truth. I look at vee disappointed immediately getting the bet,

"You bet I'd run into them vee?? That's harsh- I'm not into getting involuntarily "hit" while my sister waits snickering in the other room"

I bury into amity her arm wrapping around me as vee's face falls, understanding I'm genuinely hurt by the idea of that bet. Amity rubs my arm slowly as Vee hands amber the five dollar bill back, trying to make me feel somewhat better. I look at the ticking analog clock above the mantle and my body forces out a yawn as it says 9:52,

"I'm going to my room guys- it's late."

Heading up the stairs amity trailing along we end up in a hallway of doors, I unlock mine into a ten by eight room with a bed and desk. Laying down after locking the door I pat beside me, amity joins me in the soft bed.

"Thank you for saving me am..I love you"

I whisper softly to her as she smiles, her arms wrapping around my neck gently as she kisses me.

"You're welcome wildcat..I love you more"

She returns for another kiss, every time she smiles my heart melts just a little bit more until it's just liquid..
