A small little vacation had been arranged.. across the Caribbean on a cruise ship, and for once? It wasn't my idea and being just a few months from twenty.. me and ami can use the relaxation time. Mom had told me we could invite a friend, so me and vee teamed up to make it a true family vacation, I invited odalia and vee invited naomi... amity got a free pass because she lives in the house and rose because she's six got a child's discount.
Packing thin summer clothes into my suitcase, I see a blank black photo reflecting the light... or so I thought. Flipping it to the white side I blink the light out of my eyes, smiling at amity when she walks in she grabs the photo off the dresser where I'd set it. Receiving a gentle kiss I set my hand on her neck, parting from me she goes to place her things in her suitcase. Out of habit I spray on my vanilla scented cologne before stuffing it under my clothes, nearly getting knocked down mentally I look at amity and instantly recognize that familiar strawberry scent. Hugging her from behind I kiss her neck,

" you smell amazing amity.."

Shivers run down her spine as I brush my fanged canines over her skin, then planting another kiss in between her neck and shoulder. hugging her waist to her too tightly she jumps almost right out of my arms,

"Be careful! That hurt a little bit-"

Letting her go I kiss her temple apologetically. returning to my suitcase I hear her clear her throat, turning to face her she asks nervously

"Did you touch this?.. by any.. chance?"

Nodding gently I say confused

"Just to flip it over- the glare was hurting my eyes.. you know I respect your privacy baby"

She nods gently but steps forward, photo in hand, her voice suddenly wavers

"Luz.. that wasn't a glare.."

Handing me the photo I pull out my glasses and put them on, looking at  the photo for a solid ten minutes I gasp loudly. I suddenly say disbelieving and excited

"NO!-"

She nods swiftly

"Yes!"

Handing her the photo I grip her shoulders and smile brightly

"No way! Are you serious?!"

Nodding even faster she repeats 'yes' in a near yell, I squeal loudly and gently pick her up bridal style. Kissing her cheeks then neck I set her down, scrambling for words I ask missing a few words or so mentally

"When- when did you find out??"

It's almost instantly that I get an answer

"Well.. the test was- two weeks after the fifteenth of may but I really wanted to make it a surprise.. if you saw her instead of two lines.. but I'm around... two months as of tomorrow"

Running my thumb along the black of the photo I feel my smile soften, looking up I say quietly

"This is alot better than two lines.. "

Setting my thumb on her temple I suddenly say

"Alex venus noceda-blight hm?.. beautiful name"

Taking my hand off her face she asks quite accusingly

"How can you do that?! It's like you're an Oracle luz-"

Sighing softly I pull her closer and think of a way to explain, looking at her my face slowly dropping in concentration. Breathing in I say gently

"Eda had taught me it a while back.. it requires very little magic and- being a human of fifteen with no magic stuff it took none for me. It's like tuning into someone's wavelengths like going from 87.6am to 102.1am on the radio, and based upon what memory I'm attached to I can make you.."

Grabbing a nonessential memory like getting her leg kersnapped by boscha at fourteen I slide my thumb to her ear

"Forget it.. for the most part and.."

Pulling back the memory of me reading the good witch azura six to her, by sliding my thumb to her forehead I continue

"Bring back important memories you've almost forgotten"

Tapping the center of her forehead I see her face light up, resting my hands on my waist I smile. She looks up at me and asks quietly

"Is that how you can see the truth in your mom's eyes even when she's lying?"

Shaking my head no I say mostly to myself

"Children can lie to their parents.. but the other way around? It really doesn't work.. she used to say so frequently that dad cheated but she just kept on getting this- pain in her eyes. it's like staring at the mona lisa.. she looks so blank but if you look at the corner of her lip it's raised in a small grin."

She nods slowly since I'd pointed out that small detail two months prior. Suddenly being hugged I look at her shocked then smile, wrapping my arms around her I chuckle.

"I hope she's as amazing as you ami.. we need another amazing girl to keep me and rose's crazy in check"

Pushing me away playfully she laughs

"You two are not crazy.. you're just full of childlike energy"

Looking at me suddenly she studies my shirt, fishing through my clothes in the dresser she pulls out a grey average v-neck.

"Luz- we aren't flint lockwood with his spray on shoes.. I can see every bit of your torso- wait.. are you still wearing that binder??"

Feeling my heart sink I pull the front of the shirt to hopefully hide any forms underneath

"Nooo...."

Crossing her arms she gives me that one look

"Luz... "

Shaking my head no I chuckle

"No not at all..."

Her crossed arms get tense but relax, looking at me reasonably calm she asks trying to understand.

"Why..?"

It's only two seconds after a loud sigh she realizes she smashed open the dam of my subconscious insecurities,

"I dunno.. it makes me comfortable? Who says girls can't be flat hm?- and in naomi's dimension I was referred comfortably as "papa".. I'm so much more of a father figure than a mother figure- though please don't go expect me to wake up and want a beard"

Resting her hand on my cheek she shakes her head

"Luz I honestly don't give a fuck if you end up with the name luca, lucas, lucio or pedro, I can make exceptions for you"

Snorting loudly I look at her with an eyebrow raised

"Pedro??! Heh.. you're really something ami.. I love you.."

Mom had looked at me when I entered the room with an expression of confusion, but vee just gave me a thumbs up.

"See mom? Luz gets it! Being flat is ten times better than having tits, hurts your back you know?"

Mom shoots vee a glare but she goes back to drinking her slushie

"Happiness comes when everything numbs?? Shit man that's the fifth this week-"

Raising the XL cup she goes back to finish the calc test before we head to the ship, she replies in a loud mutter

"Who needs cocaine??"

Mom looks at amity hoping to get some help in this matter but she's giggling in the corner

"Alright you two- no more heather's.. and vee you can finish in the SUV- I'm sure luz would be more than glad to have you tether to her mobile data"

Holding up my twelve inch drawing tablet she smiles and nods, looking at odalia walking in through the back door she looks around interested.

" you have a wonderful house camilla.."

Mom smiles at her then chuckles, hugging her mother amity smiles at odalia. Amity suddenly looks nervous when odalia cups her face in her hands, me and mom look at eachother a moment

" you're flushed pale amity- have you been eating enough? You haven't been drinking anything have you- I will not allow it even if you're of age. "

Taking odalia's hands away from her face she cringes away from her mom,

"I'm fine mom! I just didn't sleep too well last night-"

Vee coughs and mutters 'that's because you fucked all night' amity whips around and says embarrassed

"she kissed my neck EVERY TIME I got into first place on Mario kart deluxe! I was distracted!"

Vee coughs 'saucy~' but that just makes amity stressed causing her to be unable to continue, glaring intensely at vee I rear my attention to amity. Resting my hands carefully on her shoulders I say gently,

"Hey.. breathe- your lips are going purple ami.."

Turning around once she calms down I point at vee

"Butt OUT of what goes on behind my door.. I do not need her stressed out vee"

Shrugging vee rolls her eyes, biting my tongue I stare irritated at her. Setting her hand on my shoulder amity makes me look at her,

"Vee mi hija- you better watch your tongue or you're staying HERE.."

Her eyes look up at mom a moment then she looks at me and amity,

"I'm sorry.."

Amity nods gently but the small movement of the air causes vee to suddenly go half basilisk- and all hell breaks loose. Vee suddenly goes to ask loudly if amity's pregnant but is cut of at 'amity are-' because I look at her desperately, odalia is pressed to the wall asking why vee is a basilisk. After some swift explanations she's calmed down, vee pulls me into the garage and asks in a swift whisper too quiet for anyone to hear.

"now I want to make this seem like an argument so "will you shut up" for yes and "get out" for no alright?"

Nodding gently she resumes in that same whisper

"Is she pregnant?!"

Sitting on the work chair I yell out loud enough for them to hear

"Will you SHUT UP?!"

Vee sniffs in the direction of the door and slaps my arm, standing up we assume angered positions. Amity enters the room and I shut the door behind her, vee sniffs the air again

"Hey wolf face- stop sniffing for intruders"

Amity says discreetly between us, but vee continues to sniff on.. god she looks like legoshi- sighing she sits on the chair I was in previously.

"Amity- she's not smelling for intruders.. she can smell your- uh estrogen.. pooling in the air.. she knows"

Amity instantly covers both my whispering mouth and vee's closed mouth with her hands, whispering suddenly in a threatening tone

" you will shut up about what you found out vee- I want to SURPRISE them-"

Vee suddenly says muffled through amity's fingers

"You'll have to shut up naomi too- she's at the door"

Following amity out the door naomi looks at amity pretending to zip her mouth, and instantly shuts up as she sees odalia thinking amity meant her. Suddenly screaming in fear she topples into me, trying to calm her down I say quite loudly

"NAOMI! she's not your odalia- she's from my dimension.. lo siento for not telling you about her- I promise you that she's nice.."

Walking up to odalia she swallows deeply as she reveals her actual form, odalia smiles and holds out her hand to shake naomi's. Smiling relieved she takes odalia's hand and firmly shakes it

"Naomi whisp blight... it's lovely to see you"

Odalia raises an eyebrow to which naomi looks at her suddenly realizing she doesn't know, jumping slightly she says in a sort of explanation

"Oh sorry!- yeah right.. forgot my last names the same as yours- I'm.. in a whole completely different dimension- you odalia and camilla's daughter's... daughter.. though mami luz has cat stuff like me and she's thirty nine-"

Mom nearly falls to my other age, heading to the car she says on the brink of fainting

"We're... gonna be late- let's go.. oh mi dios- thirty nine.. amity, luz.. you take vee and nao in the SUV- rose really wanted to be with her abuelita's so we'll be in my car"

Getting naomi and vee with struggles into the back, I hand naomi now in human form my Ipod and headphones and vee my drawing tablet.

"Jesus you two are like twelve year olds! What now?? Capri-Suns??"

Naomi looks up at me with a childlike look in her eyes, nodding gently to me my heart sinks into quicksand. Pointing at her feet I smile, offering vee one naomi smiles. Pulling out of the garage after checking if everyone's bags are in the trunk, mom looks at me confused

"Sorry mom I was dealing with kids-"

Grabbing a Capri-Sun from naomi when she hands it to me, I laugh when rose turns into a bat to grab it from me, getting back into her carseat I say happily

"That's my girl.."

Taking front I lead the way to the docks where the cruise ship will be.
