Chapter 4

It didn't take me long to get to the skate park from where I was dropped off. It felt so good to be in my normal clothes and not have to worry about manners. The skate park loomed in front of me I saw mostly guys and a few girls. I plugged my headphones in and cranked up the music, sliding my phone into my pocket and I just floated away from this world for a bit.

I guess maybe I wasn't paying attention to the stick that had fallen onto the ramp. I mean seriously why didn't they trim those back, this was hardly safe. I came careening down on my knee hard. I rolled over groaning. I ripped the headphones from my ears. "Ow!" I called out. "Oh my gosh are you okay?" A guy asked. He had shaggy sandy blonde hair and bright blue eyes. He was muscles from head to toe. His concerned eyes found mine. Nope Mac don't even think about it. Off limits. "I don't know. I'm bleeding pretty good." I said.

"No worries I've done that a billion times. They really should cut these trees back. He mused." He knelt down next to me taking a look at my knee. "Okay we'll get you fixed up." He pulled a small brown leather pack from his back pocket. "This may sting a bit." he said ripping open an alcohol wipe from the package. "Just look at me, what's your name?" He asked. "Mac." I said he dabbed at the spot on my knee. "OW!" "Sorry, the worst of it is over. I'm Andy." He leaned down and blew on my knee for a second. "There we go now just to add a band aid and you're good to go." He said unwrapping it. He placed it gently on my knee. "There, all better?" He asked.

"Yes, thank you." I said. "I was watching you skate you're quite good." He said. "Thanks." I said. "So you're from America?" He said noting my accent. "I am." I said as he held out his hand to help me up. "What are you doing here?" He asked. "Visiting family for the summer." I said. "Oh that's fun." He said.

I walked over to the bench to take a seat. "I think I'm gonna have to be done for today." I said. "Probably for the best." He said. "So you come out here a lot?" I asked. "Yea it's so relaxing." He nodded. "I think so, let me see your board." I asked. He held it out. I flipped it over. "Hey this is cool!" I said. It had his name in big green graffiti letters and a dragon. "Thanks. I know a guy who did the art work for me. Let me see yours." He said. I held it out to him. "Mac Attack, what a cool nickname. What's with the cactus?" He asked. I shrugged. "I think they're cute and its neat that they can thrive so well. They are like little survivors." I said. "That's totally why I picked the dragon. They can kick major butt." He said smiling.

"Tell me what it's like where you live." He said. "It's hot, really hot and if you go outside it feels like a wet towel. Is the weather always this nice here?" I asked. "It is, we can get harsh winters though that's the only draw back." He said. "I like the snow but I'd probably hate it if we got more of it." I said nodding. "Yea, it can get pretty intense last year we had a pretty big snow storm and got snowed in." He said. "It also rains a lot, I actually live over in Stafford but we don't have a skate park. It's not far though." He shrugged.

"I like the rain, I think it's peaceful. I'm weird and like a good storm." I said. "I could get down with a good storm." He said. My phone beeped in my pocket. "Dinner in an hour. Might want to shower. Love you, hope you're having a good time." Mom. "Everything okay?" he asked. "Yea, it's just time for dinner. I should get going." I said standing up. "That's still a little tender." I said. "Sorry again. Hope it doesn't keep you from coming back." He said. "Nah I should be back tomorrow." I said. "Good, see ya then. Bye Mac Attack. See ya Andy." I said.

As I waited for the limo to pick me up at our designated spot I mentally patted myself on the back. I just met a ridiculously cute guy and didn't do anything stupid. I mean we had just met. But clearly boundaries didn't mean much to me.  Apparently I'm learning from my lessons. The limo pulled up to a stop by the curve.
