"Girls I need ya'll to calm me down. I sat looking into the tablet sitting on the table." I pushed down my dress. "You look gorgeous that is an amazing dress!" Said Sadie. "Thank you I'm so scared. And I know I shouldn't be. I am just going to quickly tell everyone that I've chosen Daniel and it's going to be fine." "Dang straight it is, we really wished we could be there. But we will be there soon to see you become Queen and then again to see you get married to Daniel. This is crazy!" Cam said. "Isn't it though?" I gushed. "Well I guess I'm ready to go." I said putting my Tiara on." I slipped my phone into the hidden pocket on my dress. "Good luck!" Said Sadie. "Yea call us as soon as it's over." Said Cam. "Will do, talk to you soon ladies." I ended the video call, shutting the tablet off. I walked down to the ball room. I took in all the sights. I smiled at my mom and gave her a gentle wave. She gave me a thumbs up.

              I looked around, anxious about making my big speech. I saw Daniel in the corner talking to some guy. Ah yes he did mention his brother would be coming to hear him make his big announcement. Well guess I'd better go over and introduce myself to my future family.

       "You know it's not to late to back out." Morgan said. "Look, i appreciate the offer but...no and I'm really sorry." "What?" "I mean it. I'm really sorry. I know you thought this was your future and then some stranger just comes in and ruins that plan. I know you hate me. I wouldn't like me very much either. But to be fair i didn't know anything about any of this. It was a shock to me. And I'm supposed to just step up and somehow please everybody it's hard. But i want you to know that I'm sorry. And if you'll have it. We can work together to find you a job. Here or wherever. If you've trained your whole life for this then you're more than qualified and anybody would be lucky to have you."

        "Why are you being so nice?" She questioned. "Some people are just nice. And because i feel bad, i mean not bad enough to step down. Cause you know my dad already did that and i think it would kill my grandparents." I said nodding. "Right, i guess i can see how that would be a problem. I'll think about your offer. Thank you. You didn't have to do that. You could have just hung me out to dry after the way i treated you." She gave me a smile and this time it was a genuine smile. "Great I'll see you around."

I headed in the direction of Daniel. "Hey." He smiled walking over. "You ready for this?" He asked. "I'm nervous." "Why? Not sure you made the right decision?" He asked. "Maybe, I'm thinking about the guy that I fell in love with. This is a big sacrifice for you too. I just hope I'm making the right decision."          

       "You know i feel the same way you do." He said. "See that's why i feel bad. I'm asking you to give up finding love to help me." I put my hand out. "Yea but all of these guys are dying to be in my position right or wrong." "I guess so." "And I have the ring in my pocket. So once we tell everybody I'll just slip it onto your finger and we'll be good." "Great thanks." "No problem." 

        "Oh did i see you talking to your brother?" I asked. "Yes you did hold on let me get him. Christopher is over there being all royal as he's about to be King. I'll introduce you soon. But this is my other brother, Hey Andrew." He called over his shoulder. A guy turned around coming this way. "I didn't know you had two brothers." I said shaking my head. "Yea he's not big on all this." He motioned with his hand.

       The guy got closer and his face lit up. "Andy!! What are you doing here!?" I asked. "I'm here to see my brother announce he's getting married to the future queen. What are you doing here?" He asked. "Future Queen." I shrugged. "Oh my gosh i have so many questions!" Andy said. "You and me both." I nodded. "So wait you guys know each other?" Daniel said looking confused. "Yea, from the skate park." I said.

         "Wait is he the guy you're in love with?" He asked. I blushed nodding my head. "Thanks for ratting me out." I said. "Oh I'm sorry, but you'll be happy to know he's in love with you too." "What?" I asked. "Daniel, will you shut up?" Andy asked. "Look I'm gonna let you two talk. But find me soon. Because if you're in love with each other then i might not be the Wilkinson brother making an announcement tonight." He winked. "Would you be okay with that?" I whispered. "Absolutely. I just want you to be be happy. Both of you." He said back equally as quiet. "Oh and Bro I think you'll be needing this." He said pulling his grandmothers ring from his pocket and handing it to him. "Thanks." "No problem. Good luck." Daniel said walking off to give us time to talk.

       "Why didn't you tell me?" I asked. "Why didn't you tell me?" "Touché'" I laughed. "Well okay, i didn't say anything because you had always just said you were visiting for the summer. I didn't see the point. But to be fair when i realized i was in love with you i was going to tell you. But i didn't know how that would work out. Could i ask you to stay? Then you said you were going to stay but i didn't want to get my hopes up. You kept acting like you had some big secret but did you ever. Anyways. Why didn't you tell me?" He asked. 

                                                            "Well you were the one part of my life that wasn't crazy. It was nice to have the break. And i didn't know how you'd take it. Because once i realized i was in love with you i knew i couldn't BE with you and it would just hurt. So i went to the council and tried to convince them to let me marry a commoner so i could be with you. I guess that sounds silly now." I said.

                                    "Not at all, it's why your dad left. Or so the story goes." "It's true." "Well see, if they would have let him marry your mom things might have been different. He could've become king." "Yea, but it's all working itself out. So wait. How does your brother know you're in love with me?" I asked. "Well i knew he was going to marry you. He came home and told me you asked him. I just didn't know you, was well you know. You. He just said the future queen has to marry somebody and she was picking him. He was concerned because he wasn't in love with you nor were you in love with him. He then said he wasn't even sure he knew what love was. I told him i knew. I had met this amazing girl at the skate park and i was pretty sure i was in love with her. But that i thought she might be leaving at the end of the summer." I nodded all of the pieces falling into place.                                    

       "You're not really gonna marry my brother are you?" He asked. "Well unless you know somebody else who might wanna take his place?" I shrugged. "You know i just might know a guy. And you can have it all." He pulled me into him for a hug. I sighed against his chest. "You don't know how happy this makes me. I love you." I said finally being able to say it out loud. "And i love you. Let's go find my brother explain what's going on and then talk to our parents." "Boy are they gonna be surprised." I said. "You ain't lying." "One more thing. Why haven't i seen you around here before?" I asked. "My mom has been trying her darndest to get me to come to these stuffy parties. But they were never really my thing before." "And now?" I asked. "Hey now I've got a really good reason." He smiled. "Good, because if we get married you'll be King. Are you okay with that?" "If i get you, absolutely." He said.

         Daniel was talking to his parents. "Hello Andrew i see you've met your brothers future wife. Isn't she just the sweetest?" "Actually, Daniel isn't going to marry her." Andy said. "What?" My parents walked over. "What's this i hear? You're not going to marry Daniel? I told your grandmother you were going to make an announcement tonight. She's not going to like this." My mother frowned. I held my hand up to stop all of the questions. "I'm going to marry Andrew." I said. "What, you just met him. Why are you jumping ship? Are you sure this is wise?" My father asked.

       "Andy, ah Andrew and I met at the skate park. And were in love. That's why i petitioned to the council I'd like to be able to choose who i marry. Now none of it matters. Andy and I are in love." I said taking his hand. "And you're okay with this?" His father asked Daniel. "Of course, i was just trying to help Mackenzie. And she should have love. So should i." "Okay then so you're still going to make an announcement?" My mother asked. "Yes, and you don't have to tell grandmother anything." I said. "Okay, well go mingle and they'll let you know when it's time." She pulled me in for a hug. "I'm so glad you found love. I'm so proud of you for everything." "Thank you." I pulled back and we walked out to the dance floor.

       Morgan walked over. "Daniel i really think we can make this work." She was telling him. She turned. "Oh, Andrew." She bit her lip. "Didn't think I'd be seeing you around here. Sorry Daniel, you can have Mackenzie now. Andrew, dance with me." She held out her arm. "Actually I'm going to marry Mackenzie. I'm sorry, i know it's been confusing." She stomped her foot. "How in the world are you two getting married!? You literally just met him tonight. Why, please just tell me why!?" "It's a long story that I don't feel like rehashing. I met Andrew at the beginning of summer." I said. "Ugh whatever.  Daniel...dance with me." He did to keep the peace.

"Dance with me?" I asked. "Gladly." He took my arm and led me out to the dance floor. "So, I'm going to propose to you." He said. "Oh are you?" "Yep cause you know I've got the ring and everything. This is not how i imagined my life would go, i mean maybe in my wildest dreams. It's perfect...you're perfect." He spun me around. "Thank you, I'm so happy." I said. He pulled me to him. I caught his eye. He leaned down and gave me a slow and gentle kiss. "You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that." He said. "Me too, it was perfect." I grinned stupidly. After we danced a few songs my mom gave me the signal.

       "You ready for this?" I asked Andy. "Absolutely." We made our way to where the band had been playing quiet music. The music got quiet and everybody turned to look at us. I cleared my throat. "I have an announcement to make. As you all know at the end of the summer i will be transitioning into Queen. As the law states i must marry a royal." I knew my speech wasn't elegant. Or anything like my grandmother would give but for me? It was the best i had. "I would like to present to you. Your future King: Andrew Wilkinson." Everyone in the room clapped politely. I started to bow but then remember I was the princess. I grabbed Andrews hand and walked off the stage.

       I was glad this was over with. "Would you mind if i took a picture with you?" I asked. He chuckled. "Sure." I took a selfie of us in our finery. I sent it to the girls with a message. Engaged. "What!? That's Andy!! How? I mean are you giving up the crown for love?" Asked Cam. "No, he's Daniel's brother. Shocker right?" "Totally but I'm so here for love!!" Said Sadie. "And for the record you look so happy. I'm so proud of you." Said Cam.  "Thanks, I gotta get back to my man." "Have fun." Said Sadie.

       "Okay, I've got this ring burning a hole in my pocket." Said Andy.  "Oh, are you gonna let me see it?" I asked. "I'm thinking about it. I'm just trying to take all this in. It's just a lot. And yes I know everybody already knows we are going to get married." "Yes, and they might want to see the ring." "I'd imagine so." He chuckled. "But I'm debating of weather I should just give it to your or if I should make it special. The proposal I mean." He laughed harder. "Um..." "Right! Is this not the weirdest thing EVER!?" He asked. "It is kind of weird. I mean I can't believe you are here! I can't believe I get to marry you! I mean, your brother is great and everything." "But he's no me." Andy winked. "Well, don't tell him I said this but yes." I grinned.

       "Okay, how about this. Can I come pick you up in the morning and take you somewhere? I have an idea." He said. "Oooh okay deal. I'll be ready. What time?" "Ten okay? It'll give me a bit to set up." "Done. I'm very curious though." I said. "Well you'll just have to keep your little cute self patient." "Fine, but I don't like it." "But I promise it'll be worth it." He said. "Deal." He took my hand and we danced until it was late. I didn't want the night to end. I could not explain to you how happy I was.

       When it was time to go his family and he walked towards the front of the castle. He hung back. "I love you, it feels so incredibly good to say that out loud. And isn't it crazy. I've only known you a few months." "But when you know you know? I love you too." He leaned in an kissed me. "Your family is watching." I blushed. "I see, but I promise there will be more of that tomorrow." He bit his lip. "Looking forward to it." "Oh yea?" "Mhm you're kind of good at that." "Thank you." He winked giving me one last hug and leaving. 

       When I walked back into the castle my parents were waiting. "Let me guess you guys want the whole story?" I asked. "We would like that." My dad said nodding. "Come on I asked the cook to prepare some fresh cookies and milk." My mom said. "Okay let me get changed out of my finery so i don't get milk on this dress."

       Once I was changed into my pjs my parents and I sat on my bed and I told them everything. To meeting Andy at the skate park to how we fell in love. Some of it my parents already knew because they knew why I had petitioned the courts in the first place. "You really had no idea that he was royal?" My dad asked. "None, he didn't tell me. He thought it would scare me off." I said. He nodded. "Makes sense." "Yea, and it's also why I didn't tell him that I was one. I knew I couldn't be with him and it seemed like it'd be easier?" I shrugged. "Right, You didn't want to hurt him." My mom nodded. "Well I'm proud of you pumpkin. You're getting everything." My dad smiled. "Me too, I have to get to bed though. I'm going with Andy, Ah Andrew in the morning." I said. "Okay dear, get some good sleep." My mom said kissing my head. My dad kissed me as well and they left to let me rest.

       I fell asleep to sweet dreams of happily ever after.
