Nova sat straight up, cold sweat running down her forehead as she caught her breath. That was the 4th time this week that she had this dream and it all was with the same robots, in the same place. A place called Cybertron. She threw her head back on the pillow as she thought it over.
She kept having these dreams or nightmares, really. It was all the same scenario, where she got shot in the abdomen and blacked out. Nothing else. Like she died the moment the blast hit her. It scared her death because nothing like this ever happened to her. Sure she had the usual dreams of a boy she had a crush on in her class, but this is different. It felt..so real.
She stirred over on her bed slowly and looked at the time on her clock.
6:02
She only had another 2 hours before she had to get up. She groaned lowly before stirring away from the clock and closing her eyes.

"It was just..weird, that's it." Nova told her counselor, Miss Cole, as she nodded. "Well, this is very interesting, Miss Becker. You know, many people are suffering from this issue and as we know, doctors are looking to resolve this problem. But has it gone any further than that? The nightmares?"
Nova shook her head before Miss Cole nodded and wrote it down on paper.
"Well, I think that's it for today. I'll give the office a note for your early dismissal. You really need o get some rest." Miss Cole spoke in concern as Nova nodded and she grabbed her stuff. "Thank you, Miss Cole."

"Hey, mom." Nova called to her mother as she entered the door. "Hi, sweetie! I see they sent you home early."
Her mom walked into the hallway near the door, with her brunette hair tied back into a messy bun, wearing a black apron over a floral dress. Nova knew her mother was cooking a big meal because of the apron. Nova's mother, Greta, was Nova's famous celebrity chef, though she wasn't a celebrity. When her mother wore an apron, she knew that it was going to be a table for a lot of people.
'Maybe some family from out of state is coming.' She thought as she met up with her mother.
"Honey, your cousin, Miko, and her host family will be here tonight. So I need you to help me out with the chicken, mashed potatoes, and the cranberry sauce. After that, you need to get some rest." Greta explained as Nova nodded and threw her backpack on the couch in the living room and made her way into the kitchen.

As soon as Nova entered her room, she kicked her shoes off and threw herself to the mercy of the bed. She sighed heavily at the feeling of her bed and stared up at the ceiling.
"Man, I can't wait to see Miko." Nova said to herself as she looked over at the picture frames on her nightstand. Most of them contained her younger cousin, Miko, and herself. A couple more of her siblings and two of herself and her father, Liam.
She stared at one that showed Liam hugging Nova when he came back from fighting in the Japan Air Force. She was only 10 years old. She had just scored a point for her basketball team and out of nowhere, she heard his voice.
"That's my girl!" He had said and she immediately turned around and saw her dad, standing right at the exit in full uniform smiling proudly at her. She didn't care if they were in the middle of a game, she gave the ball to one of her teammates and ran up to her father and gave him the tightest hug ever.
She smiled at the memory before realizing one thing. This time he isn't coming back. He had sailed off to Japan for another rescue mission in South Korea, but he never came back. His plane was shot down and there were no survivors. Not even her dad.
She let tears slip out of her eyes before she laid down flat and shut her eyes.
