Chapter 9 Princess

    Adrien's  POV:

I had to tell her that boys give flowers to their crushes.

Ugh, what if she did not like me anymore? I mean, I never asked her out.

I did not stop her from the date with Charlie.

     I sighed.

I almost slipped up and called her princess at school.

I must not ever call her such a thing as Adrien Agreste.

I already called her Princess as Chat.

I can not let her know I am Chat.

It has to be a secret.

Oh, Marinette, why are you so oblivious to my feelings?

I was glad I had packed a few things and hidden them outside the house.

I had secretly bought my place.

I must find a way to move there without telling my father.

I am old enough to live alone.

After he left the house, I packed the rest of my things.

I called a company and told them the address to ship my furniture to, but told them not to tell my father. I made sure I paid them once they arrived to pick it up.

      Well, I better be off.

I went and got in my car and drove to my new home.

   I unpacked a few things.

I better wait for the furniture to arrive before I unpack the rest.

I  decorated the porch with a rug that I bought recently. One my father had never seen.

It had green paw prints on it, and it glowed in the dark.

      I smiled.

It was a good thing I had my separate phone service.

     I called her.

"Marinette, what are you up to?"

" Adrien, what a pleasant surprise."

  "Marinette, I missed you."

"What? We just spoke last night."

"I know, but I still missed you. When can I see you?"

"I will be glad to see you anytime, A-Adrien."

There was that stutter I had grown to love again.

I blushed. How could I be so silly?

It was not like she knew.

I had yet to tell her.

"Marinette, will you meet me at the pizzeria?"

I told her the address and time.

   I listened as she spoke.

    "I would love to."

I could not believe it. Marinette agreed to go out with me.

I felt I was over the moon with happiness.

I heard Plagg make smooch noises inside my pocket.

   "Ding dong..."

Oh, great, I thought, the furniture movers are here.

"Got to go, but I will see you soon, Marinette."

    "Yes, see you, A-Adrien."

I grinned as I heard the click in my ear.

    I opened the door.

I showed the men where I wanted the sofa, chairs, table, other chairs, lamps, bookcase, and last of all the hockey table.

I figured for the rest I would buy sometime later.

Who knew what else I might need to add?

I paid the movers and gave them a nice tip.

I sighed as I got ready for the date.

What was I supposed to wear?

I knew it was pizza, but did she expect me to dress up?

I shaved, then, put on some aftershave.

I combed my hair, tied my shoes, and grabbed up my wallet, and keys.

"Well, I guess this it, wish me well, Plagg."

"Adrien, I believe it will be fine. It is your girl, now go get her."

Plagg yawned as he went back to sleep. Some days he was almost like a real cat.

I locked the door, went to the car, and was on my way to see my princess.

    "Marinette?"

   "Adrien?"

I went up to her and dropped my jaw.

I did not know what to expect.

  How did she do it?

Marinette wore jeans, a long-sleeved pink shirt with ladybugs, pink socks, and hot pink boots. Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail and she looked stunning.

    She looked good in anything.

   "Marinette, wow! You look stunning!"

   "Thanks, A-Adrien, you look handsome."

Once at the table, the waiter led us to, I held out her chair.

She sat down, and I slid her chair in for her. I sat in the chair across from her.

This way I could stare into these lovely blue bell eyes. The same eyes that seemed to twinkle, and tease me.

I ordered a pizza, breadsticks, and some sodas.

I saw her nod her head in approval.

"So, A-Adrien, how long have you liked me?"

I blushed.  "Marinette, I have liked you ever since we first met. I did not know how to tell you. I always thought you were interested in someone else."

"Do not be silly, Adrien. I have always liked you. I have to admit that I like Chat Noir too."

I sighed a sigh of relief.  If she had to like someone other than me it was my other half,  technically me too. So, yes, she liked me.

I held her hand as I said the blessing.

I let go to eat but missed how her hand felt in mine.

I watched her eat and never stopped.

I know it seems crazy, but I felt the date was good.

After we finished the meal, I paid for it against her protest.

"Shh, Marinette, It was an honor to pay for our date."

      I held out a hand.

     She took it.

     I danced with her slowly.

     I heard her sigh.

I  felt her head lean against my chest.

I blushed. Why did she make me feel so whole?

I felt something hard fall and screamed.

"Marinette," I pushed her out of the way.

   I felt it hit me.

   "A-Adrien, no!"

Just kidding, nothing fell, I was being over dramatic there for a minute.

Anyway, I danced with her and she closed her eyes.

      So cute.

I  did not want to move too fast.

Who was I kidding?  I had already kissed her as Chat Noir.

I  cupped her face with my hands.

"Marinette, may I have the pleasure of kissing you?"

I heard her laugh as she opened her eyes.

  What is so funny?

"Do you want me to kiss you?"

"Yes, but it is a bit sudden. I mean it is our first date."

    I laughed too.

I took her to her house.

"Oh, remind me to show you my new home someday. I moved there today though so it only has a few furnishings."

"You moved out of your father's place?"

"Yes, what is so surprising about that Marinette?"

" I thought you always listened to what he said."

"Not always."

I did not tell her I moved because my father and I argued about her.

I could not tell her that my father disliked Marinette.

It was my decision to date her.

    "Oh, I see."

    I saw her face fall.

"Marinette, darling, look I want us to work."

   "Me too."

I kissed her cheek. I knew she was right. It was too soon to kiss her lips.

Princess, I thought, I will kiss you and marry you.

"Adrien, I can't come between you and your father."

"Marinette, I do not care. I love you."

  "What did you say?"

I saw her spin around in surprise at my words.

   "I said, I love you."

"I know it was terrible timing being the first date."

"I could not keep it from you anymore. I love you. I  always have and always will. So, please do not break up with me. Please."

    "A-Adrien, I love you too."

To my surprise, she kissed my cheek and waved as she entered her place.

I grinned like a fool all the way home.

The princess date was a success.
