Chapter 7 Marinette's Conflicting Interest
Marinette's POV:
I wonder what Adrien meant when he saw me.
"I overheard him say hi, pr-Marinette."
Was he about to say I was pretty?
Perhaps, I will never find out.
Before I could ask, he reached out his arm.
I did not know what else to do, so I took it.
I smiled as the others gasped in surprise.
He, he, I suppose I never lost my feelings for Adrien.
It sure was strange I had received a rose from an anonymous person a day after Chat's visit.
Could it be more than just a few boys like me?
No, that was not possible. I was not intelligent or good-looking and was as clumsy as they came.
I entered the classroom with Adrien and sat beside Alya.
"Girl, I want the details after class!" Alya teased me.
I groaned.
What surprised me the most was that Chole was not the least bit furious.
I felt my thoughts drift back and forth between Chat Noir and Adrien.
I have a crush on them both. I took very few notes.
I jotted down the qualities I admired in Chat Noir. Next, I wrote the ones I admired in Adrien.
The teacher asked me about a poem.
I blurt out the first thing that came to mind. "Love is complicated, but so is all of life itself."
The teacher shook her head. The others looked at me with sympathy in their eyes. Nino laughed. Charles looked ticked off.
I placed my hands over my eyes in embarrassment.
After school, I tried to talk to Alya, but she was googled-eyed over Nino. I shook my head. Adrien walked me home. I felt the silence brush in over me like a wave. It was almost as if my feelings were on display for all to see.
Why did I have to say that ridiculous statement? What was that all about anyway? It certainly had nothing to do with the poem.
I hugged Adrien, then went upstairs. I saw him blush as he waved to me.
"Bye, Marinette!"
"Bye, A-Adrien!" I stuttered as usual.
Well, I thought at least some things never change.
To be continued in Chapter 8
Coming up not sure when, to be honest...
Til then,
bye-bye, little owlets!
Summer out!
