Chapter 5 Alya Goes Berserk

Marinette's POV:  (and a little of Alya's POV as well)

The following morning, Marinette walked around the bakery confused. She could not figure out how someone could have left her a flower without her seeing them.

Marinette heard the doorbell ring, so she tugged the door open.

"Alya, you will not believe what happened to me," Marinette blurted out.

"Hmm, girl details, tell me all about Charlie and the big date."

"Ugh, why did you remind me? I rather forget it."

"The date was that bad, huh?"

"Yes, it was a disaster, but after it was over, I had fun."

"Girl, sometimes I wish I could figure out what is going on in that head of yours."

Marinette sighed as she glanced at the rose.

"Is that what you mean?  Charlie gave you a flower to make up for the horrible time you had and you feel bad for telling him off?"

         Marinette shook her head.

         "What?  Details girl, now."

"I got ready for bed and went to look outside.  Someone came and left me this rose."

       "Who?"

"The thing is I have no idea. I never saw him or heard a thing. He must have been nearby, left the flower, and went home as quickly as he appeared."

"Oh, my goodness, Marinette, that sounds creepy. Romantic, but creepy and a bit stalkerish."

"Tell me your plan to find out his identity."

Marinette shrugged her shoulders. She had not planned to discover who left it. She felt maybe he should be respected by letting the whole thing slide.

"What?  So, you are not going to look into it?"

Alya shook her head and threw her hands into the air in frustration. She could not believe it. Marinette was so unbelievable. How could she not want to know who the giver was?

"Just wait until I tell, Nino. He is literally gonna freak."

"Don't tell, it is meant to be between us girls."

Alya ignored Marinette's request to keep the situation private. She already had Nino on speed dial anyway.

      "What is up, Alya?"

"Nino, babe, Marinette had a mysterious visitor late last night. She got a rose and everything. Is not that wild?"

"Whoa, that is wild. So, she going to find out the sender so she can properly thank him?"

"That is just the thing, she has no intentions to do so."

Nino laughed. "Well, that is Marinette, for you wanting to respect the guys' privacy."

"Alya, I told you not to tell him!" Marinette glared at her angrily.

"Got to go, babe, Marinette is giving me the death glare."

          Nino hung up.

         Alya did the same.

       "Mind telling me, why?"

   "Why what?"

"Why do you want to be kept in the dark about this?"

"I know a small part of me wishes I know.  Then, I think about how he went through all that trouble not to disturb me. I figure I owe him the same courtesy."

Alya pointed a finger in her best friend's direction. She shook her head in disapproval.

"I can not say I agree with your decision."

"Tough, it is mine to make."

     "Girl, I give up!"

  Alya left in a huff.

Marinette stood there annoyed. She did not hear him land with a thud.

    "Hi, ya, princess!"

    "Chat Noir?"

"The one and only in the flesh."

"To what do I owe your presence?"

"I came to check on you."

   "Oh, why?"

"I never heard how the date went."

"It is not something I wish to dwell on, thank you very much."

Chat smirked. Hmm, if the date was bad then it must be to his advantage, right?

"Princess, that is hard to see what with your beauty."

"Chat, why I am flattered, it did not help much. The guy has no taste in food, or movies, gag."

"Why was that girl, Alya was it, in such a rush to get out of here?  her hair on fire or something?"

Marinette giggled. "No, she was perturbed by the fact, I refused to see the situation her way."

     "Situation?"

"Yes, she thinks I should seek out the person who dropped this on my balcony last night," Marinette spoke as she pointed at the vase with the rose inside.

       "I take  it, you don't?"

"I rather not. I mean what if he seeks to be anonymous or something?"

Chat sighed. The girl has got spunk that is for sure.

"Yes, well, I suppose if you word it that way it makes sense."

Alya went to Nino's to rant to him.

Chat enjoyed his visit with Marinette.

Marinette would not admit it, but she found she rather enjoyed his company.

"Ha, your best friend, is one fiery brunette."

"Yes, well we cannot all be bluenette can we?"

"Princess if all were bluenette that would ruin everything."

           "Oh, how so?"

"Well, if they were then it would take away from your uniqueness. I could not let that happen."

Marinette felt in that moment that Chat sometimes said the most peculiar things.

"Ah, in that case, if all were blondes that would ruin the spunk and overall hotness of the Chat Noir."

Chat Noir blushed at her words.

"Overall hotness?  Whoa, Princess, I did not know you had a crush on me."

Marinette blushed as Chat ran off. She did not even get a chance to defend herself. Oh, boy why did she have to call him hot to his face?  How embarrassing.

Tikki chuckled under her breath. Seems, Marinette has it bad for Chat.
