Ravio and Hilda stepped through the doorway first, Hilda still using Ravio as support in order to stand.
Yuga slipped through after them, and the doorway shut, leaving the empty stone wall behind them.
Yuga had landed them in a dark, empty room, with torn up furniture and broken windows. The lightning was flashing quite dangerously close to the window, and the thunder was booming quite loudly.
Yuga frowned as he surveyed the mess of the room before him, and sighed.
"This is where the Royal Princess of Lorule used to reside when I was Chief Advisor. I suppose it has been too long since I have been here. Show me where your chambers are, Your Grace." He said, deliberately ignoring the fact that Hilda could barely stand, let alone speak, and wasn't even looking at Ravio.
Ravio was beginning to dislike this Yuga less and less either every passing minute, and he was not afraid to show it, either.
"I don't believe the Princess is any condition to do anything right now besides rest. After I get her into bed, I will ask one of the servants to take you to a room, and when Her Highness is feeling well enough, you will present yourself before the King. Is that understood?" He said, and Yuga glared at him, before sighing and waving his hand.
"Fine, peasant. I will await you here while you attend to the Princess." He said, and Ravio nodded, before readjusting Hilda on his shoulder, as he began to guide her away from Yuga and out of the empty room.
It didn't take long for Ravio to find Hilda's room, as the empty room was only a few rooms away from the room Yuga had landed them in.
He pushed open the door, and helped lay Hilda down on her bed, and placed the covers on her.
Her eyes fluttered open as Ravio made sure she was comfortable, and then sat down beside her.
"Hilda, have you released all the magic you have inside the lower half of the castle?" He whispered, and she slowly nodded, a look of pain on her face.
"I wanted to explore more of the castle underground first before I let it all go. Those parts of the castle have been lost to the chasms for centuries, and I wanted to learn more about our kingdom's history, but my hold on my magic snapped once we left." She said, and Ravio smiled sadly.
"I know, Princess, but your health is more important than anything that was down there. We'll sort out Yuga once you're well enough to stand and think. We'll have to present him before the King as well." He said, and Hilda nodded.
"I'll be fine in the morning, but I need to rest now. Get Yuga a room somewhere in the castle, and make sure the servants know not to tell my father about him until I get the chance."
Ravio nodded again, and stood up from her bed, smoothing out his rumpled tunic.
"Sweet dreams, Princess. Good night." He said, and left the room, to see Yuga standing outside by the doorway. He smirked at Ravio's surprise, before sinking into a mock bow.
"So this is where the Princess's quarters are, hm? An interesting relocation, but it is none of my concern. Where are you placing me, peasant?" Yuga asked, and Ravio glared at him.
"My name is Ravio, and if you were respectful, you would actually care. There's bound to be a servant up here somewhere, we just need to find them. Follow me." He said, and began walking off without a word. Yuga smirked again, before gracefully following after him, as if he was a member of the Lorulean Royal Family.
Ravio was proven to be correct, as a female servant suddenly appeared from around the corner, and she was startled by Ravio and a stranger wandering around the halls.
"Ravio? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be downstairs in the Servant's Quarters with your mother?" She asked, and Ravio groaned, as he heard Yuga laugh behind him.
"So, the peasant is a servant here in the castle, hm? I would have thought that a friend of the Princess's would at least be of nobility, but I guess she's so limited on potential candidates that she chooses a servant's son as her closest companion? What a joke." He mocked, and Ravio ignored him, before speaking with the servant.
"I'm under orders from Her Highness to have this man put in a room here in the castle, with all the appropriate accommodations. Where is the closest room like that?" He asked, and the servant thought for a moment.
"There is only vacant room available here in the castle at the moment that would be tolerable to live in, on the floor below this one. Will that suit our guest?" She asked, and Yuga sniffed.
"It will suffice, for now. Lead the way, servant." He said, and the servant began to walk away, and Yuga followed after her, and looked back at Ravio one final time.
"Run along now, Ravio. You wouldn't want to keep your mother waiting, would you?" He said airily, before turning around a corner and disappearing from view.
Ravio grumbled to himself, before he began to walk back to the Servant's Quarters, exhausted from the long trek Hilda and he had made down to the deepest depths of Lorule Castle, only to free this insufferable "Chief Advisor."
After a few minutes of walking through the winding corridors and staircases that led to the Servant's Quarters, Ravio finally made it to his and his mother's shared room.
He pushed open the small wooden door, to see his mother still awake, and tidying up whatever mess she thought was there.
She looked up to see her son exhausted, with the clothes and hair a mess.
"Ravio! Oh my goodness, what happened?" Myra said, running up and kneeling down to examine her son's tired face.
"Nothing, Mom, I'm fine." Ravio said, waving her away, before he stumbled to his bed and lay down.
Myra looked over at him worriedly, and she picked up a small plate of food and handed it to him.
"Here, I saved your dinner. You need to eat before you go to sleep, and then go clean your face, okay?" She said, and Ravio nodded, before taking the food from her hands.
Soon, Ravio fell into bed once again, the thunderstorm outside creating a nice ambience for him to fall asleep. Myra was already asleep in her bed, her chest rising and falling under the blankets.
His mind was restless, with thoughts about Yuga spinning throughout his bed. Ravio knew that he was not to be trusted, and he would talk to Hilda about it tomorrow.
However, he was still exhausted from the journey throughout the castle, and with no time at all, had fallen asleep easily.
The next morning, Ravio woke up to see his mother already gone from their room, leaving him alone in the almost silence, as it was never truly silent with the everlasting storm raging outside.
He got up from his bed, and put on a clean tunic and hat, before making his way out of the Servant's Quarters, and back up to Hilda's bedchambers.
Though Ravio had only known the Princess personally for a few days, he already felt comfortable around her, and figured that she wouldn't mind if he came up to her room unannounced, especially if it was about Yuga.
He soon arrived outside the large wooden door that led into her chambers, and knocked three times.
Hilda herself opened the door, and was a bit shocked to Ravio standing outside her door, already dressed and ready to go.
"Ravio? What are you doing here so early?" She asked, and Ravio gave her a confused expression.
"Princess, it's almost noon." He said, and Hilda almost seemed to jolt awake at that notion.
"My goodness, I have never slept in so late before. Where is Yuga?" She asked, and Ravio shrugged.
"I haven't the faintest idea, but I actually came here to talk to you about him. Do you mind if I come in?" He asked, and Hilda nodded, before stepping aside to let him in.
He walked through the door, and saw a dress, white cape, earrings, and crown were laid out on her bed, along with a pair of white slippers beside them.
The dress's skirt was white, while the torso was a lavender color. It was sleeveless, though golden ceremonial armor that went around the collar and shoulders were laid beside it.
There was a purple apron that went down the skirt of the dress, with the Lorulean Royal Family Crest, and two golden tassels were strung around it by a sort of turquoise belt.
Her earrings were replicas of the Triforce, which reflected the gold light of the newly lit fire.
The crown was made up of golden diamonds sealed together into a circle, and a diamond shaped ruby was in the middle.
On the vanity was purple lipstick and eye makeup, and a pair of long, white gloves.
"What's all this?" Ravio asked, and Hilda sighed, as she sat down in front of the vanity.
"I am to appear before my father today about Yuga, so I am always expected to wear the ceremonial clothing of the Lorulean Princess and future heir of the kingdom." She said, as she began to apply her makeup, and Ravio sighed.
"Hilda, don't you think that there's something a little suspicious about Yuga?" He asked, and Hilda thought about it for a moment.
"I do find it strange that he was banished to the deepest depths of the castle because he was hiding. The only thing that used to be down there were the dungeons, and it wasn't really commonplace for anyone of the Royal Family or of their court to be banished there if they committed a crime." She said, and Ravio nodded in agreement.
"With that knowledge, are you sure it's the safest idea to have Yuga in the castle? What if he tries to sabotage our plans to save Lorule and destroys it to the point of no return?" He asked, and Hilda sighed.
"I don't know, but I will be sure to keep a close eye on him, to make sure he doesn't get up to anything suspicious. Please don't worry." She said, and finished applying her makeup.
Ravio looked over to see that her eyelids were now lavender colored as well as her lips, and her eyelashes had been made darker and sharper as well.
She then walked over to the bed, and picked up the dress.
"Ravio, could you sit at the vanity and cover your eyes? I have to put on my corset and dress." She said, and Ravio nodded, and sat on the cushioned chair, before taking off his hat and holding it over his eyes, so he was only able to see darkness.
All he could hear was rustling and cursing as Hilda struggled to finish getting ready to appear before the King.
After a few moments, Ravio only heard the rain pounding on the window, and felt a tap on his shoulder.
He removed the hat from his face, and his jaw dropped.
Hilda was wearing her ceremonial garb in full, and she looked...well, like a Princess. It fit her perfectly, though she kept adjusting her skirt awkwardly.
"I hate this outfit so much. It's so heavy." She said, and Ravio laughed.
"Well, you look amazing in it. I'm sure your father will approve." He said, and Hilda smiled at him.
"Thank you, Ravio. Now, Yuga will be here soon. I know you're suspicious of him, but could you be civil towards him while we're in the presence of the King. He's already not very thrilled about me requesting an audience before him." She said, and not a moment later, a knock sounded at the door.
"Come in." Hilda called out, and her servant, Celestia, and Yuga himself walked into the room.
"Here he is at your request, Your Highness. Is there anything else that I can do for you?" Celestia asked, and Hilda shook her head.
"No, thank you. That will be all, Celestia, you may leave now." Hilda said, and the servant curtsied, before bustling out of the room.
Yuga waltzed over to Hilda, and sunk into a low bow before her.
"Good morning, Your Grace. I do hope that today's meeting with the King will go splendid." He said, and then looked over at Ravio, a look of disdain upon his face.
"Is your...friend accompanying us as well?" He asked, and Hilda looked over at Ravio, before nodding.
"He is, but however, I must ask for you to wait outside for a moment, if you would please, Yuga." She said, and Yuga huffed, before his smile returned.
"Of course, Your Grace. I will await any further orders."
He then bowed himself out of the room, and Hilda closed the door after him, before turning back around to face Ravio.
"Princess, are you insane? I'm not important enough to be presented before the King!" Ravio exclaimed, and Hilda waved him off.
"You are plenty important enough, but I need you to change into this. My father bases all of his judgements on how well dressed you are, despite how close-minded that may be." She said, and held up rather fancy clothing.
It was a blue button-down tunic, with golden thread sewn through it to make various swirling patterns all throughout it.
The collar was white, and encircled all the way around, with a blue cravat that had white patters pictured on it.
Below the tunic was a pair of navy breeches with a black belt, and black dress boots as well.
All in all, this outfit was meant to be worn by royalty, not just a servant.
"Hilda, where'd you get these clothes?" Ravio asked, and Hilda smiled, before placing them into his arms.
"They were my father's when he was only a prince, but I'm sure they will fit you just fine." She said, and Ravio frowned.
"Won't he notice that these clothes are his, and accuse me of stealing from him?" He asked, and Hilda laughed, shaking her head.
"No, no, you won't need to worry about this. My father's constant drinking makes him forget most things, so he barely remembers anything from last week, let alone from childhood. Now come on, put it on. My father doesn't like to be kept waiting."
