Riding To The Sunset
We were about a day away, and we decided to disguise ourselves so we can stay longer. It won't be long until they find us at this rate, but with disguises, it will be much harder.
I had to dirty up my face, and Royce had to style and dirty himself up differently quickly. Clothes didn't matter cause they don't have our family crest on them. But we just had to make sure that we stayed low until the guards passed us. And we were lucky cause we had about a month and a half. We needed at least three weeks to get back to Yorteska and a day or two just in case. And about a week and a half to get back. That means that we have one week to stay put here.
Our first two days will be to find a place to stay and stay away from guards and stuff. They might still recognize us, but the citizens of this kingdom shouldn't. It is pretty far away from Lyandrio, so we should be recognizable. The guards should be right on our tail, so we should be on schedule.
We stopped at a house and asked if we could stay a few nights.
"Sure! Come on in! We have a guest room upstairs you can use!"
"Thank you! You are so very kind!"
"No problem, dear. Where you off to?"
"We are going to see the royal wedding in Lyandrio! We are stopping here before heading to Yorteska."
"I heard that the new Queen and Prince Royce fled the kingdom! I hope they get back in time."
"I hope so too. Me and Ro here are expecting, and our favorite doctor is going to be there, so if they call off the wedding, we won't be able to see him in a while."
"Congratulations! May the gods bless the little miracle!"
"Do you have any family home?"
"I do. We have my darling little angels, Hop and Leon. Hop, Leon! We are going to have company for a few days!"
"Company?!"
Two little boys run out from a back room. The older one has dark hair, the younger one with a deep brown.
"This is Ro and his wife-"
"Daph."
"Ro and his wife, Daph. They will be here until they depart for Yorteska."
"You're going to see the wedding, aren't you? Mommy won't let us go see."
"Well, I am sure she has her reasons."
"I told you many times, Hop! We don't have enough money to go, and your father can't work enough overtime to get us there."
That gave me an idea. It may help us out in the long run too. Keep us on time and such.
"What if I donated to you so you guys could go?"
"That could be hundreds. I don't want to trouble you, deary."
"It isn't any trouble. I am very wealthy, and your boys seem disappointed about not going. Besides, look at his little puppy eyes!"
Hop was practically begging his mother to accept, and it got a few chuckles out of all of us.
"If it helps, I may need some tips on how to handle pregnancy."
That was a lie to get her to say yes. She took an amused sigh and nodded her head, holding out her hand for a handshake. Let's hope her husband can set the pride aside for them.
And speak of the devil-
"I'm home!"
"Daddy!"
He hugged the littluns before taking a seat with Ro and his wife.
"I forgot to ask for your names!"
"Its Kaireen and Baader. Hun, these lovely people want to help us get to Lyandrio."
"How they going to do that?"
"Well, they were going to pay us for the time we are gone."
"You know I don't like charity-"
"This is because I like your kids. Not because I pity you."
"I still don't like this, but Hop seems happy about it. Leon does too..."
"It is a family bonding experience. Plus, I'll pay for food."
"Free food? I'm in."
"Perfect! We leave in a few days, and it is three weeks to Yorteska. Sound like a plan?"
"Yes. Sounds wonderful. Your welcome to stay here as long as you're still willing to help us out to Lyandrio and all."
"Of course. I don't think I would ever think of backing out of this now. Hop is hopping around like a mad lad because of his happiness. I wish I could be that happy."
"Why aren't you? You got a bun in the oven!"
"You'll find out. Maybe be a little mad, but you shouldn't feel too bad once you get the whole story."
"That was ominous, but ok."
We had a lovely, filling beef stew, cooked by the beautiful Baader, and we went to bed. I slept on the floor, so I get a good night's sleep. I love to sleep in weird places, and it always a good sleep. Better than if I didn't sleep there anyway.
And we hung out with the kids while Kaireen and Baader prepared for the journey. It was pretty fun and all. Especially when we got ready to go, Hop would not sit still.
"On the wagon, Little ones!"
"We're going to the wedding, we're going to the wedding!"
"You sure are! I hope we make it in time. The Boundaries are tight around this time of year."
"I'm sure it will be fine, deary. Especially now that you are getting to your doctor and all."
"Do you think it is a worthy enough quest?"
"I do. I had to face the same fears a couple of years ago before giving birth to Hop here. The only doctors were having a conference in Wiltiabry, and we had to cross The Boundaries to make it."
"Well, let's hope we share the same luck then."
And we were off. And we practically booked it there, giving us a week's advantage. Meaning we got there in two weeks instead of the three we planned for. The family decided to book a hotel with us, and we were going to stay until the last minute before leaving. Hop and Leon wanted to visit all of the nearby stores and such since it was around Christmas, and they needed list ideas for Santa. Who does exist, by the way? Why else would my stocking get filled?
Ro spotted a couple of lovely young ladies who just to happen to check me out. Now I would be upset usually, but under these circumstances, I want to hurry up and get a fiance.
I gracefully walked on over with Ro, to not look suspicious around the family who thought I was pregnant, and quickly and cutely, might I add, asked them out. They said yes, and we made our way back to the little motel. Now, a date for Royce. That would be hard cause he's picky and all, but I am sure there is someone right for him here. There has to be. Otherwise, why would the universe bring us to our last stop without any ideas? Why else wouldn't we have found someone? God can't leave us empty-handed on our quest for ourselves. Can God do that?
Nope! No negativity! Not today, God!
But where the hell do we look for gay, young, and cute men? The secret gay bar, of course!
