Planning

Royce, Baader, and I all figured out the best course of action, and the best way to tell this is through a cool cut scene montage while we execute our plan.

Baader, when we reach the gates, is going to count his family as a family of six instead of four, and we were going to get through the body count. That will let us in. As long as they do not need to see our faces, we are fine and dandy. Carellios was going to be a man traveling into Lyandrio, so it didn't matter. While we get permission, he is going to be staying with Baader and his family. Don't want him to be on his own or anything. That's just mean.

Once inside the walls, we are going to wagon towards the village and hide in the stables until midnight. The guards don't go near the stables or anywhere near the path we used to sneak out. That path will be our entrance back into the castle.

But, things went sour. The guards started patrolling the path after our escape, and it was heavily guarded.

And unlike my second cousin, I wasn't blessed by Jack and couldn't get passed on my own. So, I called upon the help of a little boy from the village - the one who almost ratted on us.

"Hello again, Queen Daphne. How may I be of service?"

"I need you to distract the guards. Tell them that you found us by the market."

"What do I get in return?"

"This ruby ring that has been in my family for generations."

"Sounds good to me, m'lady! Those guards shall be thoroughly distracted! I'll collect my payment after your wedding!"

"I'll see you then. And maybe then, I'll have something more valuable to trade instead."

"Let's hope, m'lady."

And he was off! The guard's heavy metal clanking went off into the distance, and the path was safe once again. The window to my tower was open, and all that was left to do was climb back up it. Easier said than done.

The stones seemed to have been shaven down so that it is harder to get up and down it, but they couldn't shave the indents. I had to be really careful, and I also had to make sure that Royce was a reasonable distance away from my feet. I don't need him falling from these heights.

We slowly made our way up the tower, making sure that we stayed far enough apart, and the guards wouldn't see us. Once we got to the window, we climbed in, not paying attention to anyone that was in here. Our arms were tired, and we needed to get in!

I heard my beautiful Caitlyn call out to us.

"M'lady? Are you in there?"

"Caitlyn?! Yeah! Royce is here too, but he can give us a moment to catch up."

Royce, who made kissy faces, got up and excused himself from the room, so Caitlyn and I had a little privacy.

"Why are you back, m'lady? Did you find a suitor?"

By the looks on her face, she didn't want a yes. And I am so glad, in this moment, that I realized how much I loved her before it was too late.

"Yes, I did, actually. She is the prettiest, smartest woman I have ever met."

"What does she look like?"

"She has deep brown hair that reminds me of chocolate and the forest. Her hazel eyes reflect the sun I wish to wake up to in the morning. She is the best thing to ever happen to me, and it took me forever to realize it."

"You were only gone for six months, m'lady. It couldn't have been forever. When will I meet this suitor?"

"It has been forever, and you already know her. Her name starts with a C and ends with aitlyn."

"M'lady?! You know your parents will never-"

"I don't care! You are all I could ever wish for! I will run away again before I marry someone I don't love! Or we can have some fun with Royce's knowing."

"You really do love me?"

"Will this help?"

And I kissed her. I immediately regretted this because I didn't ask for explicit permission, and it was her first kiss, but I loved it so. She was hesitant to kiss back, but once she did? It was my new favorite thing. What even is sharp cheddar when I have her?

And now, all that's left to do is make our parents bless our marriage!

We're doomed. Let's all sing the doom song!

Doom doom doom doom doom.
