Jack had no clue to why she was acting so cold lately, she seemed distant and far away from him even if she was in the same room as he.

Jack wondered why she was acting this way, she didn't tell him when she went to an ultrasound or anything.

Jack was in his office when he saw Clara walk by with the door open, she was holding a book and seemed to be making her way to either Katherine or Davey.

"Clara !" Jack called she sighed and walked in his office, closing her book to its bookmark.

"Yes?" She asked clearly annoyed at him interrupting her.

"Is Katherine okay?" He asked closing his laptop.

"She's fine" she replied and then went to stand up.

"Ever since the ball she's been so standoffish to me, and I don't understand why I didn't do anything-"

"Sure you didn't" she rolled her eyes.

"I legit have no clue to why she's acting this way, I thought maybe the pregnancy hormones and all but... that didn't seem to be it... " he sighed.

"I don't know think back to the ball idiot" she snapped and went to sit up.

"I did! I did nothing wrong!" He replied.

"Tell that to the blonde you were with behind the stairs" she scoffed.

"What blonde- oh... Ella, it's not what you think I swear it" he said.

"Yeah right, I have to go and do anything else" she said and walked out with her head held high.

Now Jack was in real trouble, he couldn't tell Katherine why he was with Ella cause then she'd tell Clara, and the whole thing would be ruined. But he didn't want her mad at him... ugh.

"Kath?" He said one night when she was looking out the window from the window seat in their bedroom.

"Hm?" She responded not looking back.

"I wanna talk about the ball, I know you saw me with Ella" he said sitting down across from her.

"What of it? You got under my skirts, you're getting your crown we have an heir your work here is done, only a matter of time before you took on a mistress I thought you would at least wait till Atticus is born" she replied.

"Atticus ? It's a boy- never mind that" he said "if I tell you, you must not tell Clara no matter what" he said.

Katherine sighed and agreed "that night at the ball Kath I was showing Davey how to propose and show a woman you can be romantic, Ellla is gay, she has a girlfriend who was legit standing right next to Dave while I was showing him, Ella's girlfriend is my cousin" he said. "I swear, facet wants to propose to Clara and he needed help so the three of us decided to help him" he swore.

"Really?" She asked looking at him.

"Katherine I even have a photo of the ring on my phone, you know I would never do that to you or our family" he said gently placing his hand on her belly.

"I want to see the ring" she replied and jack pulled his cell phone from his slack bottom pockets and brought it to the messages between Davey and he, shaking her the simple ring.

"It's pretty" Katherine said looking at it.

"It's for Clara so you can't tell her, you have to promise me! Davey wants to ask her winters ball next month" he said.

"I won't say a word! How exciting!" She replied happily.

"Now, were having a son?" He asked.

"It's a little early still, but the nurse told me it looks like a boy, the doctor said my next appointment we should have a clear answer, I just feel like it's a boy" she told him as she watched her husband slip into his grey pajamas bottoms and white t-shirt.

"Do you want a boy?" He asked as he began to move the throw pillows off the bed.

"I don't care but I feel like it's a boy" she said as she crawled over the
Mattress to him.

"Can I come with you to your next appointment?" He asked gently cupping her face.

"Of course" she smiled and he kissed her sweetly.
