Katherine walked down the hall , with her flats making a sound against the marble floor and her skirt moving with her .

She walked past the tall windows that showed the tall tress without leaves and the gardeners that were trimming the hedges .

"Katherine ?" She turned to see her cousin Clara who was holding books . "You're suppose to be accompany me to the library remember ?" She asked.

"Oh ! Right !" She smiled and ran a tad to catch up with her cousin .

Katherine's head was always in the clouds , doodling and writing . She enjoyed the small things in life that her cousin and father looked past .

"You know your father will be coming home from Manhattan in a while .."

"I know Clara " Katherine nodded her head "I'm just hoping no war broke out ... he would do that"

"You're father is a stubborn man isn't he" Clara smiled "come on ... you're not allowed to be toddling around" she pulled her hand and they began to walk .

"Father !" Katherine scolded as he was joking about the estate's halls. "I think it's time we spoke of what happened at your visit to Manhattan ."

"Okay.." Joesph took a sip of his wine and looked at his young daughter , only 18.

"Well... I met with her majesty Medda ... "

"And ?" His daughter asked.

"Her son ... jack ... the crowned prince , is around the age of marriage ... as are you -"

"Point being ?" She asked cocking an eyebrow up .

"I've ... we've agreed that an marriage between the two of you would smart -"

"Father !"

"You're 18, he's 21... you should be married by now Katherine ... and plus a union between the two countries will help prevent wars and help stabilize the economies and the union !"

"Father ! Do I not get a say in this ?" She asked glaring at him.

"I'm sorry dear but this is what I think is best for you ... you're a smart charming young lady who knows how to get stuff done -"

"But Prince Jack is a playboy ! He parties and goes from supermodel to supermodel! He's not what I look for in a husband !" She scoffed .

"It's for your people Katherine ... and besides you're good at getting people to grow up ... you did it with Clara and you can do it with Jack !"

"I hate you !" She said as she got up and matched to the doors .

"I've been told !" Joseph yelled to his daughter as she slammed the door shut.
