I sighed boredly as I walked down the grand hallway. The windows allowing the bright sunlight to filter in and showed off the large town far below. I stared down at the town as it kept appearing and disappearing through the many windows.

Once the last window passed by I looked forward once more to the large wood door engraved with many swirls. I knocked on it, loud enough for the person behind it to hear. "Enter." A grand voice came from the other side. I opened the door and entered. "Ah, Y/N dear, good for you to come. We need to di-"

"Dad if it's about an needing an heir once more, I am going to flip my shit." I interrupted the old man in front of me. He sat in a grand chair with a royal Yellow, our kingdoms color's, with a bright yellow cape like gown, he had bright green eyes, and hazel brown hair which adorned the royal crown which housed mostly peridots and emeralds with a few sapphires. He sighed in exasperation and put his fore finger and thumb between in his eyes.

"Y/N.." He paused with another sigh. "Yes, it's about the heir, but the kingdom needs one and-"

"-And if we don't get one the kingdom might fall, blah blah blah, I've heard this a million times dad." I interrupted again and crossed my arms. "Just spill it already." He cleared his throat with a scowl.

"What the 'point' to this conversation is, is that I have found a perfect heir for you to marry." He said making my eyes widen then narrow once more in disbelieve.

"Who?" I asked lowly.

"The prince of the neighboring kingdom, prince Asriel. Please come in." Dad said and a nearby door opened to reveal three goat like monsters.

Each donned a purple royal robe. One looked like a male with blonde hair and large horns that curved inward. The one next to him was a little shorter, but seemed to have shorter horns, he also had black markings on his face and stood awkwardly next to the other two, his horns also curved inward as well but looked more like actual goat horns. The last and smallest one seemed female and had smaller horns compared to the other two she had a kind smile and kept on brushing off the dust off the middle goat.

"Mom, stop it, I'm fine." The middle one muttered.

"Yes Toriel, leave the boy, we need to address ourselves." The tallest said to Toriel who sighed and stopped dusting off the middle one.

"Fine, fine Asgore. Chin up Asriel." Toriel said first to Asgore then to Asriel, who lifted his head slightly.

Dad cleared his throat, catching everyone's attention, and gave a warm smile.

"Y/N, this is the king and queen on monster's Asgore and Toriel."

"Hello my child."

"Why hello."

Each said and Dad continued. "And the one in the middle is the Prince of monsters, Asriel." The third and middle one gave a small wave and a sheepish smile.

"Hello." He said. I sighed and clenched my shaking fists.

Everyone jumped in surprise as my fists hit the pure mahogany desk that Dad sat before. I glared at the old man before me. "What do you mean I'm marrying.... HIM!?" I asked indicating to Asriel. Everyone was very shocked by my outburst.

"Y/N, you know we have to-"

"I know we have to, but I don't want to be in a forced marriage. Did you even consider who I wanted to marry?" I asked edging closer to him.

"W-Well, dear, you aren't the greatest with other princes, and the king-"

"The kingdom, THE KINGDOM! That's all I ever hear from your mouth anymore. It's all about the kingdom, you know what!" I said my voice raising higher and higher, then dropping. "I'm going to my room." I said heading out the door.

"Oh, Y/N!" Dad yelled after me, but I shut the door with a slam and ran to the gardens instead.

~(Time Skip!)~

Once in the garden I quickly ran through the small maze area and soon reached the lower right corner. Most people could never find this corner for some reason or another, but I found it quickly as a kid and used it to hid stuff, later on I found out it headed straight out to the peasant village and started going there as a passageway.

I reached into a small holed area below the bush and pulled out a box. Opening it, it revealed to be middle class peasantry clothes. Smirking I quickly changed into them, leaving my old clothes in the box for when I return, and shoved the box back under the hedge. Turning around I instantly spotted the little hole, big enough for a person to crawl through, and went through it and out of the hedge maze and onto the green hills. Smirking I instantly bolted down to the town, and soon straight to the small bakery near the poor sector.

~~~Asriel's POV~~~

I stared at where Y/N had slammed the door, trying to process what just happened, when a sigh interrupted my thoughts. I turned to look at the human king.

"I am so sorry about her, she isn't very.... happy at the moment." He said with a nervous chuckle. 'More like she was pissed from the start.' I noted.

"It is quite alright, not many people were excited when we escaped the Underground, and not many are accepting of us yet." Dad said with a small strained smile.

"Oh, it's not that she hates.. Monsters. She just...." The king trailed off. 'Doesn't want to be forced into marriage' I filled in.

"I quite understand, if there is any other way we ca-"

"OH! No no no no no no no no!! I still plan to go with the marriage, you see our kingdom is in need of an heir," 'So I've heard' "And so far she has driven all other prince's away. Asriel's the first she hasn't done something to yet." He said with a hopeful smile. "Just.. Give her time, she'll come around." He reassured.

I just nodded in agreement.
