*Shadow's POV *
The next morning, Sonic was still sleeping by the time I had woken up and decided not to wake him. I went to the dinner and grabbed his favorite meal wanting for him to wake up happy.

"Shadow..?" I heard Sonic say as soon as I walked into the house. "What are you doing? You should be resting." He walked to me and saw as his ears perked up when he smelt the food making me chuckle and kiss his forehead.

"Let's go back to bed." He immediately agreed and we ate breakfast in bed.

I wanted to keep him this happy, and I wanted to feel this happy forever. I would had mever imagined what my life would had been if I had just given him a chance sooner.

(5 months later)
"My mother wants us at the castle." Sonic came to me looking nervous, we were currently at my house watching movied before Sonic got a call. "Now. And she sounded serious. Manic called me after her and said to be prepared and to tell you you still have time to run."

"What?" I raised a brow clearly confused. "Is she mad at me?"

"No, I don't think so. You haven't done anything... But I think I know what she wants and you're not going to like it..." He was looking down at the floor, messing with his shoes.

"What is it? It can't be that bad." I walked to him and held his hands but he was still not looking at me.

"Well... She's made it clear she wants me and my siblings to get married already. We've been dating for almost half a year... I think she's going to try to force you to propose... and I dont-" I cut him off as I reached for something in my quills.

"Force me? I don't think anyone has to force me." I said as I opened the small box I was holding. I had been carrying it for 3 months already since Rouge dragged me to a jewelry shop but she made me scared that I aas going to scare Sonic away. "I just didn't think you were ready for anything serious."

"W-What...?" Sonic pinned his ears down. "Shadow... where did you get that...?"

"I think I knew since we started dating that I was going to be with you for the rest of our lives. You've changed me a lot, Hedgehog. I told Rouge about it and she dragged me to jewelry shops but told me to wait until I knew you were ready so I wouldn't scare you." I moved the box closer to him. "All I know is that the only thing I am scared of is losing you, and I am ready if you're ready." I got the ring out and got down on one knee. "Will you marry me...?"

"Shadow..." Sonic looked shock but soon started to cry. "Yes." He smiled and let me put the ring on him. He got down and hugged me immediately.  "I love you."

"I love you too..." I said as I hugged back then stood up again. "We should go see your mother. If this wasn't what she wanted well it's not like she'll be mad."

"She won't be... but she will want to start planning the wedding and..." Sonic soon realized something and so did I.

"Everyone will know who you are." We said in sync. He suddenly looked stressed so I held his hand and squeezed his hand.

"It will be okay. I won't let anyone hurt them, you're not protecting them alone anymore." I reassured him and he nodded then we went to get ready before we went to the castle.

*Sonic's POV *
Once at the castle, we were taken to see my mother. I was making sure no one would see my ring since I wanted to surprise them.

"Sonic. Shadow. It's so great to see you." My mother walked to us and greeted us. "Thank you for coming. I need to talk to you." She went straight to the point and we soon realized that Shadow and I were right on what she wanted. "Listen, the two of you have been dating for half a year already, I think it's time for you two to take the next step and get married. Shadow knew that since the beginning so he knew what he was walking into."

"Is that a ring?!" Sonia shouted from behind us making my mother look at us in surprised and Sonia come to hug me. "You're getting married!" She laughed. "We need to start planning! Chaos, the wedding will be here, of course, your suits!" She went on and on about the plans making Shadow a bit nervous and chuckle slightly as he also received a hug from Sonia and then my mother.

"Wait! Are you pregnant? Why are you engaged already?" Sonia suddenly asked making me tense up.

"No. No. Chaos no." I rubbed my arm feeling nervous now since I knew my mother heard that.

"But maybe after the wedding, right?" Aleena asked making me take a step back.

"Will you two stop trying to plan my life?" I asked clearly getting annoyed.

"I think we will just focus on the wedding for now." Shadow interrupted. "Planning a family is still too soon when we have time worry about Sonics secret coming out to the world." He held my hand and they silently agreed.

They made us stay the night, my uncle and my mother talked about what was going to happen now and they both agreed I must announce who I really was the next day making it impossible to fall asleep. "How come you were okay with them talking about us having a family?" I asked Shadow as I tossed and turned on the bed trying to find a comfortable spot. Shadow held him and kept me still then rubbed my back calming me down.

"I was expecting something like that to come up as well. And I told you yesterday the only thing that scares me is to lose you, for once I am not scared of being with you, or getting married or even starting a family." Shadow confessed making my ear twitched.

"You wouldn't mind if I were to get pregnant?" I sat up and looked down at him.

"No but I don't want you to rush yourself if you don't feel ready, Sonic." My ears dropped and he sat up. "I am fine with anything."

"It's just that I'm scared." I sighed. "It's too much." I confessed as he hugged me and rested his head on top of mine.

"Whatever you want to do, I'll be there for you. I won't leave you alone."

I knew Shadow meant it but I still felt like something was going to happen soon. I felt sick and very anxious.

I would love to have a family with Shadow but the only thing in my mind at the moment was how I would protect my family and a pup at the same time now that people will know who I really was.
