*Sonic's POV *
[2 weeks later]
"Shadow!" Two weeks had passed and Shadow and I had gotten more comfortable with one another. So much so, we ended up falling asleep on the couch again.

All our friends and my family knew about our relationship and they were all happy for us, obviously they were scared at first that Shadow was just trying to hurt me but with the way Shadow was treating me during our fights with Eggman, it convinced everyone that he actually liked me. Even Amy was now on board with this.

Shadow groaned as he dropped himself in the couch.

I pouted then sat beside him and reached to rub his ear now knowing it helped Shadow relax. "I haven't seen you in 2 days, you're not even going to say hi?"

"Unfortunately Hun, I think Shadow needs to rest." I turned when I saw Rouge coming in the house, Shadow had already closed his eyes and was falling asleep. "He got really hurt yesterday before our mission ended. Thanks to his chaos emerald he was able to heal pretty fast but it drained a lot of his energy." Rouge explained.

"What do you mean he got hurt?" I asked worried.

"We were chasing after a lead we had trying to find Fleetway. He keeps finding a way to escape us and had set a trap for me which I was stupid enough to fall into. Shadow pushed me out of the way trying to protect me but..." She got closer and showed me a very light but visible stab wound. "He took the hit for me." She sighed. "I'm sorry Hun."

"I'm just happy you two are okay..." I couldn't imagine what I would had done had something serious actually happened to Shadow. "I'll let him sleep and make him food. You should go home and rest too."

Rouge didn't take long to leave but I remained close to Shadow making sure he was okay. After I made sure he was comfortable and helped him lay down, I made my way to the kitchen where I started cooking in case he woke up.

There was suddenly a knock on the door which made me uneasy knowing no one else but Rouge, Cream and I came to his house. Shadow immediately woke up at hearing the knocking but before he could get up, I was being attacked by none other than Fleetway himself.

"I have you now~" Fleetway immediately grabbed a kitchen knife and positioned it at my neck, then made me face Shadow. I stood still trying not to get him angrier.

"Let him go!" Shadow snapped from the living room not taking a single step. "Now!"

All I could think of was Shadow's injury, he would not be as fast or as strong as he usually was. Fleetway knew that and that's why he was here. He probably had already heard about me and Shadow and was attacking me as leverage or revenge.

"I am tired of you Shadow, you're always trying to stop me~ Well ~ Looks like this time I CAN do something to take my revenge on you." Shadow looked terrified, he knew he wasn't going to make it if Fleetway decided to actually cut me.

"It's time~" I could hear Dark saying in my head while already trying to take over and making me laugh.

"Fleetway, let me go." I tried to be patient but he was looking at me confused as to why I was laughing, he immediately stopped and almost dropped me as soon as he looked into my eyes. My guess is that Dark was already trying to take over but I was not going to let him our completely.

"What the- You-" He gripped the knife tighter and pulled it back then swung it back at me to try and stab me.

"Sonic!" Shadow shouted and dashed to me but stopped in his track when he saw what was happening.

Just as Fleetway raised his arm, I used Dark's claws and gripped his arm, the claws going into his skin and making him yell in pain. "I warned you~" Dark talked now. I let him put just long enough to make sure Fleetway would not attack us again.

Dark yanked back, scratching his arm leaving very deep wounds as Fleetway shouted in pain, I heard a crack as soon as Dark let go. He broke Fleetways' wrist. He did not stop there, he punched and kicked Fleetway until he was unconscious on the ground then clawed his face and torso once before he felt satisfied enough and let me take over again.

I was panting heavily as Dark had taken a lot of my energy, I was covered in blood. I did not want to face Shadow, I was scared of what he was going to say since I had not told him about this. I saw the knife close to Fleetway and kicked it out of his way before I felt arms wrap around me then my face being cupped.

"Are you okay?" Shadow made me look at him as he examined me from head to toes. He hugged me and would not let go, I could feel him slightly shaking making my ears pinned down. He was scared I was going to die.

"I'm okay..." I hugged Shadow back tightly and let myself purr softly to help him relax. "I swear I am okay. He didn't even leave me a cut."

"Your brother warned me about Dark." Shadow said and for once, I was thankful of Manic not listening to me about keeping my secrets a secret. "I need to call Rouge to take care of this. You should probably take a shower." He pulled away and examined me again making sure I wasn't lying to him.

I was hesitant since I didn't want to leave Shadow alone with Fleetway even if he was unconscious but agreed nonetheless and went to take a shower.

By the time I got out, Rouge had already came and taken Fleetway and even helped Shadow clean the mess I left behind. It had taken me longer than I thought since Dark had managed to leave blood all over my quills. When I walked into the living room, Shadow walked to me and held my hand then dragged me to his bedroom.

My heart was pounding and my stomach was turning as he passionately kissed me once we sat down in his bed. My face turned red not expecting any of this since Shadow wasn't the type to do this but the scare had sparked something on him.

"Sh-Shadow... wait..." I said as he pinned me to the bed and was about to kiss me again. I had told him we could go at his pace and that I didn't mind doing anything.

"Sorry." Shadow looked at me as he was also blushing to the tip of his ears. "I'll stop, I didn't mean to-" I shook my head.

"No... Just... Protection... I c-can... umm..." I stuttered and suddenly my words were not coming out but he nodded.

"Your brother also warned me about that..." Shadow confessed.

I have to thank Manic.

I pulled him back to the kiss as soon as I heard that, not wanting anything else to ruin this for us.
