Part 1

"I'm so sorry!!" I exclaimed, helping the boys pick up their books and papers.

"It's fine, it's fine," the first one said. Dark red hair, navy blue eyes, pale skin and a plaster on his right cheek, third year Kikamaru Eiji was the first boy from the tennis team I spoke to.

"I'm sorry!" I apologized to the other boy.

"Don't worry," he said. Light brown hair, eyes closed, paler skin, third year Shusuke Fuji was the second boy from the tennis team I spoke to.

"Go deliver the papers to the teacher next door," my home room teacher said, handing me a packet of paper. I nodded, walking out and to the door next the classroom, 3-C. I opened the door and saw the teacher at their desk. I walked over and gave him the packet.

"Thanks very much," he said, smiling at me. I smiled back and walked out of the classroom. It was lunch time and I was supposed to meet my friend Mira outside. I quickly went over to my desk and grabbed my lunch. I then ran out the door in a hurry.

Crash!

"Ow," I muttered, touching my back and sitting up. I then saw the two boys and started apologizing.

"Hey," Eiji said, bringing me back to the present. "Your Haru Shima! The girl in our class!"

"Yes," I said. "I'm sorry, but I'm in a hurry! I'm sorry again for running into you!" I ran down the halls and to the tennis courts. Mira, a blond girl with hazel eyes, was sitting on one of the benches nearby. I then noticed it was the court the regulars for the boys team were playing at.

"Hey, Mira," I said, sitting next to her. She looked up and smiled.

"Oh Haru!" she exclaimed. "I just love Kikamaru! So childish and playful! He dreamy!"

"I just bumped into him," I said, opening my lunch. She stared at me.

"Why you and not me!!" she complained. "But you'll defiantly capture one of them with your looks." I blushed, looking at my sleek braided black hair.

"No way! I'm not good enough for them."

"Yes you are." Her hazel eyes met my light blue ones and she closed them, giving me a smile. "I think Shusuke or Captain Tezaku would be good for you!" My face turned completely red.

"No!! I don't like either of them!"

"That was hurtful," someone said, coming out from the locker room next to us. I just noticed it was the boys one. Eiji and Fuji were standing in the doorway, wearing thief uniforms. My face turned even more red.

"I didn't mean it that way!" I apologized.

"Fuji! Eiji!!" one of the boys on the court shouted. "Come on!! Practice!!" They walked over as Mira and I starred at their backs.

"Practice is so hard!" first year Ryoma Echizen complained, walking out of the locker rooms. He saw me and smiled. "Who are you looking for?"

   "Um..." I blushed.

"Haru!!" Mira called, running over. "You could've waited for me! Oh, Ryoma Echizen! Is Eiji and Fuji in there?"

"Who's asking?" Eiji said, walking out with the other team players.

   "I am!" Mira said.

"Mira Tsukishima, right? I didn't expect you to be here." I sighed, not wanting to put Mira on a leash again.

"Come on, Mira," I said, turning to go.

"Wait," Fuji called, grabbing my wrist. I looked at him. "Could we talk?" Slightly flustered, I nodded and he pulled me away from the group. Once we were out of earshot, he stopped pulling me.

"What did you want to talk about?" I asked. He turned around and I faced his back. I was only a few centimeters shorter than him, but I still felt short.

"I was wondering if you wanted to study together," he said finally. I blinked and walked around to face him.

   "What?" I said. "Why?"

"Cause I saw you struggling in Physics and English," he said. My face started to turn red from embarrassment.

"I'm not that bad!!" I said defensively, although my heart was fluttering with joy. "Besides, your still behind on a lot of your work because of that camping trip you took with your team!"

"It was for training," Fuji said calmly. I smiled and then looked directly at him.

"I'd love to study with you, Shusuke Fuji," I said softly. He smiled and put his hand on the top of my head.

"No fair!!" Eiji complained as the rest of them walked over. "Why does Fuji get a date and I don't!?"

"It's not a date!" I shouted at him, kicking him in the shin. "We're just studying!!"

"Are you sure?" a black haired boy said. Short, spiky black hair, black eyes and pale skinned, Takeshi Momoshiro was a second year regular on the team.

"Don't bother them, Momo," another black haired boy said. "Fuji deserves to take a afternoon off sometime." He looked at me. "Sorry, Shima, but we have the finals tomorrow. Fuji and the rest of us need to be in top condition with no distractions." I nodded although I got the feeling he was thinking of me as a 'distraction'.

"I'll be cheering you on," I said half heartedly. "Come on, Mira. Let's get going before it gets dark." Mira followed me out of the school gates and down the sidewalk. I didn't look up once.

"Haru," Mira said, grabbing my arm to stop me. "I'm going to take the long way home. See ya!" She ran off before I could ask her why. Then I saw someone standing in the shadows. My eyes widened as I saw Fuji step into the light.

"Why did you run off like that?" he asked. I looked down and didn't answer. I heard footsteps and the tips of Fuji's shoes came into view. I then felt a hand on the back of my head. My eyes widened as Fuji pulled me towards him. I put my hands on his chest as he wrapped both his arms around me. I felt his heart beating and I felt his warmth surrounding me. I closed my eyes and sighed.

"I haven't felt this happy since the first time I talked to you, Shusuke," I whispered, not thinking he could hear me. I heard him gasp a little and pushed myself away. "Y-you heard that?!" I stammered.

"Your a really kind girl, Haru," he said, opening his eyes and staring at me. His navy blue eyes were always closed so people at school could rarely see them.

"Your eyes..." I drifted off, brushing my fingers on his cheek.

"Oi!" he exclaimed. "Your hands are cold!"

"Sorry!" I said and I pushed myself away from him.

"I've got to go," Fuji said, looking up at the purple sky. "I can walk you home, though."

"No," I shook my head. "Go home and get some rest. You have your match against Rikkaidai tomorrow. You'll need your rest. I'll be fine. I live a few blocks down. I'll watch your match tomorrow. Well, see ya!" I walked off and turned the corner a few streets down. I made it to my families house and opened the door.

"HARU!!!!" my year younger brother shouted. "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!?!?! MOM'S BEEN PANICKING SO MUCH!!!! GO INTO THE KITCHEN NOW AND APOLOGIZE!!!!!"

"Yeah, Haku," I said, taking my shoes off and walking passed the door on the left and right towards the staircase in front of me. "I'm really sorry mom!! I'm going to bed because school was really tiring today! Goodnight!" I went up the staircase and opened the first door on the left.

My room was simple; bureau, bookshelf, desk and small full bathroom. I plopped down on my bed and hugged my pillow. I closed my eyes and finally drifted off to sleep.
