Chapter Twenty-One
Preparations

Lily
I packed my bags and my weapons just in case they were a little too hostile. My whole body jittered with excitement. I was finally going to meet them, more supernatural beings. It intrigued me that these beings were not myths but in fact, alive in hiding. I had always read fairy tales about them but just thought of them as not being real. Now to actually experience it is still a dream to me.

I got bored after packing so I thought a bath would be nice to calm my anxiousness. I filled the tub halfway with water, put my favorite oils in and dipped myself slowly into the lukewarm water.

I didn't realize how much time had passed by until I lifted my head and glanced at the clock.

"2 pm?! Oh no! I'm late!"

I had promised the boys and the girls that we would go out for a bit as I hadn't been with them for a while due to some duties I had to take care of. Unfortunately, Kookie had some work to do so he couldn't come. I pestered him to see if he needed help but he kept reassuring me that it was fine and that I should go. 'Go for the both of us,' he said. I truly don't deserve him.

I dressed in a black long sleeved shirt with blue ripped jeans and white sneakers.

Ring!

"Hey!" The voice of my sister, Elle welcomed me as I answered the call.

"Hey"

"Are you coming soon?"

"Yea, I'm on my way now. Why?"

"We're gonna do a picnic"

"Weren't we going to the mall?" I searched through my memories knowing that we were supposed to hang out at the mall today.

"It's a last minute thing" That explains it.

"Ok. Should I bring something?"

"Just some cups and some meat, preferably beef. The guys like it"

"Ok. I'll buy some ramen on the way too and I'll bring some bags of blood for the girls"

"Right, I forgot about that. Thanks sis"

"Yep, see ya later"

"Okay"

"Lily!" Elle was quick to hug me as I got to the location of the picnic. A big red blanket was spread out onto the floor accompanied by many small blankets joined into one where all the others sat.

"Hey hey"

"Do you have the meat?"

"Yep" I showed them the cooler and opened it to show what was inside.

"Waaah! There's so much meat." The cooler presented various types of beef, chicken, shrimp, lobster, kimchi and even rice balls.

"I guess we didn't have to buy much"

"I also brought blood for us vamps"

"Yes! Thank you so much" Kyra got up quickly and took a bag from the set I was holding.

"Sure, help yourself"

It was a really good time. It made me forget about everything and I was so relaxed. I miss having these times with my friends.

Unfortunately, I didn't know that this day would be the last until all hell breaks loose.
