Chapter 10

Louis was getting married today. I'm not very excited about that, I mean I should be as my only sister was getting married, but my feelings were way too conflicted. I had a crush on Louis, which I had come to the conclusion of yesterday after we cuddled. I did want Gemma to be happy and if marrying Louis was what made her and him happy then I didn't want to come in between that.

"Gemma, are you happy?" I ask. Gemma sits in front of me, wearing a very beautiful wedding gown. We were sitting in her bedroom getting ready for the ceremony that was to be held later that day.

"Yes Harry, stop asking," She sighs. Someone was doing her hair, while I sat behind her. Gemma had asked if I would walk her down the aisle, and being the amazing brother that I am I decided to do so. I was also being an amazing brother by sitting with her while she got ready instead of hanging out with Louis.

"I'm sorry, I mean this just seems a little rushed you know?" It was true, the couple had only known each other for a short time, and now they're going to get married? I mean who can really get to know someone after only a short week.

"Harry, if you don't agree with the marriage then don't go. I love him and he loves me, and when you love someone you marry him. I mean that's what Dad did and look at us now!" She explains sourly.

"Dad married Stepmother and you know how that worked out," I add. She turns to me, a nasty expression on her face. I didn't mean to press her buttons, but she wasn't thinking clearly. I wanted her to get that she can't marry someone she just met. That's not how thinks are supposed to work.

"You know what leave, really, if you're going to be a downer on my wedding day then you can leave. I'll see you at the wedding when you give me away to my fabulous prince," She snaps. I roll my eyes and leave the room. Gemma had turned into a sort of drama queen over the last day or so, I'm not sure why, but she had. Maybe it was this whole queen thing getting to her head already.

I stand, taking her request and leaving. I wasn't going to stay somewhere I clearly wasn't wanted. I leave her room and decide I would find Louis. I was meaning to talk to him this morning, but there was girl with him, so I couldn't. I walk to his room and knock on the door lightly.

"Come in!" I hear someone call. I open the door to see Louis with a plane shirt on. Three girls stand around him, all holding a different suit. I remember the girl from this morning and the one from when I first arrived. The younger girl waves at me frantically.

"Look it's Harry!" She squeals. Louis turns to look at me, a smile playing across his face as our eyes meet.

"I was just picking out my tuxedo!" He says. I walk over to him and take a seat on his bed behind him.

"So this is your friend from last night." I didn't recognize the other girl from anywhere. My eyes fall on the material in her hand, a simple gray tux with a red tie.

"The one he slept with?" The dark haired girl says. She holds a black tux with a blue tie.

"Guys, stop," Louis commands. I could see the blush tinting his cheeks as he huffs in annoyance. The older girl rolls her eyes, while the one our age giggles.

"Embarrassed Lou?" She asks. He waves her comment away.

"So, Harry which one do you think is best?" Louis asks, changing the subject. I glance to Marie who held an all white tuxedo with a red tie and weird buttons and rope all over it.

"I like the white one," I tell him. He gives me a small nod, as he stares at his options.

"Good taste, I liked the buttons," Louis replies. I move my hands under my thighs and bite my lip as I wait for Louis to pick something.

"Yeah, it's nice, I mean, but this one is better," The older girl says.

"No one was asking you Joan," Louis snaps. The girl rolls her eyes and slumps her shoulders. I make a mental note of her name. Joan. She looked like a Joan.

"What are you talking about, my tie matches his eyes, right Harry?" The girl our age says. I snap back into reality and look up at her outfit. Red wouldn't bring out Louis' eyes. I shrug, I was still for the white outfit.

"Anna and Joan, stop weirding Harry out, you're gonna scare him away," Louis tells them.

"Right, don't want your boyfriend to run away so soon." I glance over to the other girl, she must be Anna. Joan and Anna, that was okay.

"Guys, Louis asked you guys to stop, please stop. I think Harry's really nice, I don't want him to be scared around us," Marie huffs. I smile at her, she was so small and innocent. I wish I could bottle her up and keep her that way forever.

"Thank you Maria," I tell her. She blushes and looks down at her feet.

"So, I think I do like Joan's best. It's simple and the blue tie will match my eyes better than Anna's," Louis states. He snatches the suit from her and struts into his private bathroom.

"He is so whipped and he doesn't even know it," Joan tells me as she walks over to where I was sitting.

"So, Harry, thoughts on Louis?" Anna asks, setting down her tux on Louis' dresser and starting towards me.

"Um...he's a nice...friend," I answer. I didn't want to express my true feelings of Louis around two complete strangers.

"A friend? Can't you tell that Louis likes you? Earlier this morning he was all prissy, but when you walked in he lit up like a Christmas tree!" Anna says. I look down and blush. Why was she so eager to know about my feelings toward the prince, it's not like it mattered anyway, he was marrying my sister today anyway.

"He always talks about you," Joan adds, sitting on Louis's bed and smiling. Marie lays her suit on the ground and sits on the floor.

"What does gay mean?" Marie asks. Joan and Anna turn to look at her. I took nearly everything in me not to just hold her and never let go.

"Gay means you like boys," Anna puts simply.

"Doesn't that make us gay?" Marie asks.

"No, gay is when a boy likes another boy," Joan adds. "Why are you asking?"

"No reason I guess, I just...heard it." She glances at the bathroom door, then the floor.

"Are you hiding something from us Marie?" Anna asks.

"No!" She says, her eyes widening. Anna looks at her for a minute then rolls her eyes. Could it be possible, could Louis be gay? No, that couldn't be, he was marrying my sister.

"What do you think?" Louis walks out of the bathroom and shows off his tux. He looked absolutely stunning.

"Amazing," Joan mutters as she stands and leaves the room.

"Same," Anna sighs as she follows Joan out.

"I have homework!" Marie bursts, practically running out of the room.

"What was that all about?" Louis asks. I notice that his tie was crooked. I stand and walk over to him, adjusting it without thinking. My hands linger a moment on his chest and I look down awkwardly as the tension in the room thickens.

"I really enjoyed yesterday," He tells me.

"You said that already," I remind him.

"Yeah, but I wanted you to know that, I need you to remember that. You're a really good...friend," The last word is only a whisper. I take a step back and look down.

"Well, I should probably go help downstairs." Louis sighs as if he doesn't want to go downstairs at all. He walks past me, our shoulders grazing.

Why did he have to be so confusing?

I groan, throwing myself on Louis's bed.

I held Gemma's arm as we walked down the aisle. I saw thousands upon thousands of people watching us. I prayed that I wouldn't trip on something and make a fool of myself. Louis stood at the end of the aisle with a priest. When we make it to Louis, I take Gemma's hand and place it in Louis's.

"I'm sorry," I hear Louis mutter. Who was he talking to? Me? Gemma? The priest?

I take my seat and watch as the rest of the wedding goes on. I feel bad to say this, but I kind of feel asleep through a little of it. It was extremely boring. I wake up and fine that the ceremony was almost over.

"May I have the honor to introduce Mr. and Mrs. Tomlinson? Prince, you may kiss your princess," The priest closes his Bible and Gemma leans in and kisses Louis. I could tell that he wasn't kissing back, his hands stayed at his side and the kiss was over almost as soon as it started.

They walk out arm and arm and I follow. There was no party, so everyone pretty much went back to their normal schedules. I find myself a while later heading up towards my bedroom to sulk when I hear someone shout.

"Harry!" I turn and see Louis. He was nearly out of breath as he tries to catch up with me.

"Yeah?" He looked red in the face as he approached closer. Before I have time to think I'm pulled into a hug. Louis' arms wrap around me tightly as he pushes his face into my neck. Louis pulls back slightly so he can see my face.

"Louis! Come on silly!" I look over his shoulder and see Gemma standing at the bottom of the stairs, a smirk playing across her lips. She walks closer to us.

"Harry, I'm sorry," He says, only about a whisper. He lets go of me and follows Gemma up the stairs.

He's sorry? What was that supposed to me? Was he apologizing for the ceremony being long? I swear under my breath at the confusion the boy caused.

Then I see where Gemma is leading him and everything starts making sense.

Her bedroom.
