Hello! I actually decided to re write this story a while back so I am going to post new chapter's I wrote a little over a month ago. This is a story I may not be able to update for a while but I do hope you enjoy these new chapters.
Chapter 1
Weddings...they are supposed to be a happy occasion. Right? Denise would disagree with you 100%. Here she was sitting in her big expensive wedding dress, looking out to the waves of the beach drinking a very expensive wine she put on her ex fiancées credit card. Taking long drinks she was trying her best to get the image out of her head. The image that not only ruined her wedding but her life! Most women are happy on their wedding day when they go to drop off a surprise at her future husbands door. Only to hear odd noises coming from inside said room.
Using her key, she pushed the door open and was shocked as the sight that was before her. Her soon to be husband on top of her brother! They were having sex on her wedding day! Holding back a scream that she knew would come from the top of her lungs, she carefully shut the door so they wouldn't hear and ran. She ran off to the beach and waited. She would bust the big news to everyone.
She waited in the shadows, everyone had shown up on the beach and Don her supposed to be future husband waited for her to walk down the aisle. Her brother was one person behind Don and smiled winking at him in secret, the sight made her want to vomit.
She went to her spot at the top of the aisle and looked at the man ahead of her. She walked down the aisle and just as the priest was about to begin she held up her hand and the man froze.
"How long has it been going on?" Denise asked the man before her.
"What?" Don asked acting like her was confused.
"How long have you been fucking my brother?!" she yelled making sure everyone heard her that time.
a loud collective gasp was heard from the audience in attendance. Don adjusted his tie and tried to think of what he would say to the woman standing before him who was supposed to become his wife.
"I don't know what you are talking about." Don replied.
"Oh, you don't know. I saw you two together! I was going to surprise you with a gift but oh did you surprise me!" Denise yelled as she threw her flowers right at his face. "Take this wedding and shove it up your ass!"
With that she left the wedding. Grinning, she could only wonder what her brother was doing now. How he would explain to their very religious family what had happened between him and Don.
Standing from her sitting spot. She took one long last swig of wine before tossing the bottle aside. She picked up the skirts of her dress and began to walk into the deep, dark blue waters of the ocean. The water felt wonderful to her but the skies above her began to darken. Yet she continued to wade into the water before her. She walked until her head was fully submerged and then she gave herself to the ocean.
French Estate 1662
Lord Henry was out on his usual morning ride, he had quite a lot on his mind. Being a good friend of the prince's made him on the top ten of every woman's wish list in Paris. A list he hated and avoided as much as possible. He hated to think that one day he would end up married to someone he would never love yet have to have children with. He tried to occupy his mind with his ride. It was the only time he had to himself, he enjoyed listening to the sounds of nature and looking at the wildlife on the estate.
Hearing an odd noise he had never heard before, he followed it. Leading the horse down a path her knew led to a fountain. He wondered what he might find and what had caused him to follow the strange noise. Finally close to the end of the path, he saw something white was floating in the fountain. Jumping down from his horse, he ran up the the fountain and jumped into it when he realized it was a woman.
"Dear god, what has happened to you?" he questioned as he pulled her out of the water and onto the grass.
Over his years of being good friends with the prince he had been taught a few things about women's wear. The woman was wearing a long white dress that looked very tight in the dress area. Taking his hunting knife that he always kept on him, he cut right down the middle and threw the corset part to the side. The woman's eyes instantly opened and she began to cough up water.
"Oh thank god, you live." he sighed as he sat down beside her.
Turning back to look at the him, the woman took deep breaths and smiled at the man.
"Thank you, I don't know who you are or where I am for that matter but thank you for saving my life." she said as she tried to stand up.
However her legs were working against her. Lord Henry helped her to stand up and she smiled at him. He led her to his horse and helped her to mount the horse. He had no idea what he was going to do with her. All he knew was that she needed help and he was willing to help her at any cost. He hopped on the horse behind her and they took off.
"Forgive me my dear, I did not ask you name." Lord Henry spoke from behind her.
His hot breath sent shivers down her back as she looked behind her to see him.
"Denise, yours?"
"Lord Henry, you are welcome at my home until you have no need for it. We are quite far from Paris so I am not sure how you came to be here." he admitted and she nodded.
"Forgive me, I have no idea how I got here. Nor where I came from. Perhaps I hit my head or something of the sort?"
He wrapped his spare arm around her, and held her close to him. He wasn't trying to make her uncomfortable, just trying to make sure that she would stay on the horse for their journey. Once they arrived at the state, Henry jumped down and helped Denise down as well.
"Child! Did you get married?" an elderly African American woman asked as she walked up to them.
"We di-" he started
However, Mama, as everyone referred to her, just chuckled and smiled as she took a good look at Denise. After all she was in a wedding dress so what other explanation could they give?
"She looks much better than anyone of those prissy women the prince made ya meet." Mama smiled as she took Denise's face in her hands. "Did you marry this handsome man, please tell me yes, I ain't got many years left."
Denise looked over at Henry questioning what she should do. Henry shrugged unsure what to say or do so Denise just took over from there.
"Yes, I married him. It's a secret though, you cannot tell a soul until he does." Denise smile throwing the ball hack into Henry's court.
Henry shook his head in amusement as Mama led Denise back inside the house to get her changed. How would he ever explain to the household that no doubt Mama would tell that he and Denise did not get married? Wait, why would he have to say a word? Maybe this was something that could give him time away from the women who only wanted his title? Running inside, he went to the parlor when Hennes, the butler, stood waiting for him.
"Brought home a bride? Dear boy I did not think you had the courage to marry without telling the prince! She is a beauty as well, she will be a grand lady and a fine mother and wife as well. Congratulations!" Hennes smiled and raised a glass.
"She is beautiful, her name is Denise." Henry replied taking the drinking and washing it down.
"Denise DeLaunche, goes quite well I would say." the butler commented.
Henry was trying his best to keep his mouth shut. He wanted to tell the truth but something deep down inside of him was making him keep silent. He sat before the fire and was about to finally speak the truth when someone entered the room. Mama led in Denise dressed in a powder blue dress, her hair done up in a beautiful style and a new blue ring on her wedding finger. Henry jumped up and went to Denise, taking her hand and kissing it.
"You looking beyond beautiful my dear." Henry smiled.
"She's your wife boy, pucker up and give her a kiss on the lips not her hand. I thought you told him how to kiss." Mama said as she looked to the butler.
"I gave him a book, what more could I do?" Hennes replied with a sigh.
Denise giggled at the people in the room. Henry came forward.
"May I kiss you?" he asked her.
She had just met the man before her but she nodded, she was confident in her decision. Henry leaned in and placed his lips gently against hers. Henry placed his right hand on her face and his left hand around her waist pulling her closer to him. Denise placed her hand on the side of his face and kissed him back.
"Awe look at that, babies be coming soon, you mark my words." Mama smiled.
Henry slowly pulled away and looked into Denise's eyes and saw a twinkle in her eyes. Those beautiful blue eyes that reminded him of the ocean. Smiling he couldn't help but keep his other hand behind her back and looked back to Mama and Hennes.
"Oh, the hearts of so many women will be broken on this day." Hennes chuckled.
"Let them break, for my heart beats for only one." Henry gripped Denise's hand.
