Chapter 1

I love poetic the prologue was, then we just have this-

Dusk settled in by the time the wolf came to castle. It's towering, silver stoned walls loomed above him like towering pine trees, study and incapable of destruction.

His brown fur bristled as his four ears perked up at a noise near the top. Guards. The sound of their footsteps reminded him of how dangerous this was. He could die if he got caught.

"But not if I can kill them first. Maybe I can just sneak by a few and maybe attack the ones posted by him."

Satisfied at the idea, he stared towards the wall. He out his paws to the wall, his claws easily catching the small gaps in the stone. He pulled himself upwards and upwards, keeping a good grip as he scaled. His ears perked up as he heard guards pace towards where he was, making him lay flat against the wall.

His front pair of ears rose slightly to listen, his tail held low as his chin brushed against the rough stone.

Just a bit more and he could handle them if needed. He waited a few heartbeats, before hearing them walk off.

He wasted no time, jumping up and into the outpost at the top. A guard jumped to attention, about to announce others of his presence. The wolf lunged forward, delivering a blow to the head with his claws.

The guard fell over, the wolf wasn't sure if he was dead or not, but he wasn't moving. He slipped out of the overlook, trekking along the walkway. He rose his head and sniffed the air, all ears up at attention.

More guards to the south, horses to the east, no sign of the prince. He growled, continuing on along the walkway.

He came to the other overlook, but instead of housing an awake, alerted guard, it housed a sleeping, loudly snoring one. Finding now reason to bother him, the wolf looked down a small opening on the floor.

He could barely fit his head in (which confused him, how could he barely get his head in, yet the oversized guards could fit their whole bodies in these things?).

He looked around, before letting out a happy yelp. His tails rose slightly and wagged, catching the scent of what he had been looking for. The wolf withdrew his head, hoping onto the edge of the stony ledge and started to scale downwards.

No guards were stationed before much to his delight, which made it much more easier. He'd rather be forced to eat rotting goat's meat then dodge flaming arrows.

He dropped down at last, looking at the set of bars of the door, a spiral staircase that lead downwards to the cellars. He smiled brightly, rows of dangerous teeth showing.

Now, how to break the bars. He placed his palm on the metal, trying to rock it back and forth. It wobbled a little under his strength, which helped him come to the conclusion he could breaking with a few slashs.

"Wolf!"

The wolf froze at the noise, before turning. A guard had found him, holding a spear close to his nose. The noises alerted other guards, who now tried to look at where the monster was.

The wolf growled, grabbing and breaking the spear in his mouth. He spat the wood out, dropping onto all fours. His fur rose as he stepped forward, teeth bared as he began to snarl at the guard.

Now defenseless, the guard turned, running away. The wolf smirked in satisfaction, turning, just as a arrow zoomed back the end of his nose. It startled him, looking up to the overlook above.

The guard who had been sleep was now awake, armed with a bow and arrow pointed towards him. The wolf gave a small gasp, before bashing his body in the bars, narrowly avoiding the arrow.

The impact caused the bars to cave in, sheltering him in the stairway up. The guard above tried to quickly squeeze in to cut him off, but the wolf jumped down the spiral staircase.

Once inside, he panted for breath, hearing the guard shout at him from above. He had to hide, but as he looked around, nothing could be seen that was big enough.

He felt his heart beat quicken as the guard's shadow came down the stairs. This wasn't good. He ran down the hallway of the dungeon's cells, turning a corner to hide as quickly as he could.

He panted for breath, looking around as he, desperately looking for the prince. "Prince?" he asked in a hushed tone.

A shuffle down the end of the corridor made him perk his ears. The wolf smiled slightly, bounding over to the cell.

"I finally found you!" he cheered. The prince's dark figure shuffled slightly, keeping himself hidden in the cells  dark shadows.

"Who's there?" he asked. The wolf, excited he had finally found him, wagged his tail, putting his claws to the bars.

"It's me!" he said. The prince rose his head, which the wolf now realized at a paper bag over. Two holes were cut out, though he thought it was pretty stupid as his eyes were now useless.

"Are you... the one who's been singing? You sound familiar..." he asked, placing his hands on the cell walls and stumbled up to his feet.

The wolf nodded, wrapping his claws around around the bars. "Yes, that's me! I'm sorry about before."

The prince shook his head at the beast. "It's fine, you didn't know there was a monster around. I'm glad you're safe."

He stumbled forward, obviously unsure on walking, his hands out in front as he walked on wobbly legs. The wolf stepped back at his words, ears down.

He really didn't see him. He thought his true self was a rabid monster...

The sound of guards made his ears perk as he spun around. The footsteps grew louder and louder, closing in on him.

"Witch, you better not have made any funny business," he thought to himself. He took a deep breath, trying to remember what the witch had told him. Think of non monstrous thoughts, don't think of singing or chasing his tail.

Human thoughts; a warm bed, weak, fragile, thinking they were better then everyone. Focus on those, and...

He felt himself grow smaller, fur along his arms and body disappearing, replaced by a blue sweater and pants. His muzzle grew shorter, two of his ears disappeared as the other pair rounded on the sides of his head. His claws grew short, breaking into five fingers rather then three.

He opened his dark blue eyes, smiling as he saw his hands. It worked, it actually worked!

The guards appeared, some looking to him. "Stable boy," one began, "have you seen a-"

"Yes, that way, it ran that way!" He quickly shouted, pointing down the other end. The prince couldn't know of a wolf being here, he would be too terrified to leave.

The guards hurried off, leaving him and the Prince. The boy turned, smiling.

"Sorry, they spotted a large goat that came from the forest and thought it would attack the castle," he lied.

The prince gave a nod, before reaching between the bars. The boy stepped back from the hand, much to the prince's confusion.

"Where did you go?" He asked.

The boy looked at him, nervously raising his own hand. He rested it in the prince's, looking up at him. "I'm right here."

"Ah, good. I'm Mono, you are?" The prince asked.

"Me? Um..." The boy blinked in confusion. Wolf mothers never named their pups, soon after they were born they were left on their own. He didn't even know his own siblings...

"Er..." Think, think! "Se...ven?"

"Seven?" Mono asked.

The boy nodded hesitately. "Yes...?"

"A bit odd, but that's alright! I like it!" Mono chimed. The boy, Seven, looked a bit stunned, before chuckling.

"Thanks. Hold on, let me get you out. Could you step back just a little?" he asked. Mono withdrew his hand, carefully walking backwards.

"Cover your ears too, this might be a bit loud."

Seeing Mono do as told, Seven thought a bit more wolfish thoughts. Hunting, running long stretches of land, chewing on bones of prey.

He felt himself grow back to his normal height, standing tall. He had to be quick before the guards came back, so no time to celebrate.

He rose a paw, before slashing his claws against the bars. The bars rattled, and after to more swings, they fell to the ground. Swapping back to the boy, Seven entered, grabbing Mono's hands that were on the side of his head.

"C'mon! I know someone who can help you. If we cane get there now, I'm sure she'll be super nice about it!"

Mono rose his head at his voice, before nodding. Grabbing his hand, Seven led the way through the dungeon and to the outside.

There were no guards in sight, possibly too busy trying to find the ravenous beast the broke in. The boy in blue lead him to the open gate, off into the forest ahead of them.

Mono followed behind, nearly tripping over roots as he was dragged forward by the (unknowingly beastly) young teen.

It was the first step into getting to where the blinded prince could receive help, and it was the first step into a web full of lies, fears, and treasured moments.

Finished - Oct. 27th

I know, seemed a bit weird cutting it off here, but I have to plan how I'm gonna write the actual game stuff. All you really have to do is just solve puzzles and get the prince's happy and cheerful tail to the end so you can continue.

I'll try to work again tonight, but for now I hope you all enjoyed!

Take care!
