I'm relieved to have gotten it off my chest, but now I don't know if I took it too far too fast and scared her. Zipporah stares at me with glazed over eyes, her face beet red, "Basil, I'm glad we feel the same way." A grin replaces my frown and I squeeze her hand.

"So is there enough reason now to continue what we've started?" I ask earnestly. She smiles and nods slowly.

"Yes, there is." I feel my heart grow in size and I lift her hand which I am currently holding to my lips, kissing her hand with affection rather than courtesy.

"Will you be my girlfriend, then?" She giggles as I lightly tickle her hand.

"Yes, I will," She answers before her face pales, "Wait, but what about Fritzi and your family!?"

"I don't want you to worry about anything, Zipporah."

"Basil, I-"

"Please, Zipporah, do not worry. I will take care of it in due time."

"I'd rather sooner than later. It could tear us apart."

"You fear much."

"Only because I want things to go right." I trace circles on the back of her hand, formulating a response.

"I'll get things straightened out, please don't worry." She smiles bitterly.

"Alright, Basil, I will."

"Wonderful. Now, we'd best return to the office." We detach our hands and I buckled up before hurrying back to Rask Industries, where I walk her back to her office.

"I had a lot of fun today."

"I did too. I haven't felt this excited in a long time," I lean in and kiss her on the cheek, bringing her into a quick hug which she returns before we pull apart, "I will see you later, Freundin. [girlfriend.]"

"Goodbye, Basil." With that I slink out of the office, heading for Grandfather's lounge. I can't even try to suppress my grin. I'm just that happy.
