Prologue
I didn't even know my purpose when my eyes opened the first time, revealing these strange spherical floating things. I never understood what I was doing, nor do I have any clue what capability I hold. All I see from myself was just a pair of these blue trousers and this ridiculously tight shirt.
It was odd, but somehow I grew to getting used to it.
And of course, there I stood on this floating platform, my safety guaranteed, for no matter how many times I fall, I would always safely return back to the platform.
Why? I don't know. Whatever power I have must really have some level of self preservation.
Sometimes, I even scare myself.
Out of boredom, one day, in some random day, I spoke my first words.
"I hope to acquire a companion."
As if my words had some sort of impact, I noticed that the space around me began to shift incessantly, before slowly, I watched in front of my eyes in beautiful detail of the formation of a human baby.
How do I know it's called that. . . Bah, must be insignificant.
The Sea must have a mind of its own, of it obeys my every command without question. Either way, what purpose do I have to a child this young? I have not a single clue. Looking around, I noticed there was a bubble that seemed firm on its branch.
"Let's do a little experiment. This little thing will go to that bubble."
I let go of the child, and much to my surprise, the Sea once again shifted incessantly before the child floated towards the designated world. This of course, made me wonder what is going on with me and this place I am in.
However, I am quite interested of the world the boy is in.
"I wish to be able to fundamentally feel everything the boy feels."
As soon as I said that, I saw almost nothing for a split second, which made me realize that children may be born blind.
"The child must be in healthy condition!"
As soon as I said it, I saw from the distance, a cry. It kept crying before it disappeared into the bubble. I felt the corner of my lips curve upwards, and an almost euphoric feeling began to rise in this body of mine.
Is this happiness? I cannot tell. All I wish for was that the child to be safe, but to also grow strong and kind.
Humans are truly interesting beings.
"Ah, I have not given it a name yet. . ."
In my mind, I thought of a single word: Soren. I didn't know if it had any sort of significant meaning in any other language I may know of, but it sounded nice and can apply to the two genders I was familiar with.
"I wish for good luck to that child. . . ."
. . . .
"What's the status of the Tower of Babylon?"
"After the explosion? Everything's probably decimated."
"Any sign of life?"
"There shouldn't b-- . . . . We spot a sign."
"What?"
The blonde man expressed his shock, before going to the operator.
"Elaborate. What kind of sign is it?"
"It looks too weak to be a child, sir. Most likely a baby."
". . . Find it, and take it in."
"Understood."
A/N: I'm gonna stop here. Updates are gonna be VERY slow for this book, since my main focus is on finishing the other HI3 book for now. But this is a rather interesting start, don't you think?
