Isabelle Grey, more often known as Belle, is a "popular girl" at Elmcroft High. It's been a tough four years, and this year isn't going to be any easier, but it looks like if she studies well she might just be able to get into a good sports college and achieve her dream of becoming a professional dancer. Her best friends, Vi, Mel and Zöe, are better friends than she could ever wish for, and she's head over heels in love with her boyfriend, Josh, the football team captain.

  And then everything changes.

  At the start of her last year at Elmcroft, she turns up. Nadia Allen. She says she's a nerd, and she sort of acts like it, but she never does any homework. She says she's poor, but she always wears expensive clothes and perfect makeup. She says she's unsociable and awkward, but whenever she talks to anyone she's sassy, open about her past and generally talks easily. What's going on with her?

  Belle tries to befriend her, but for some reason she doesn't seem to like her and her friends, and a rivalry grows up between them. And what's worse, she seems to be trying to steal her boyfriend, Josh. Belle likes to see the best in people, but something seriously shady is going on with this girl.

  With the end of school in sight, can it be possible that Elmcroft's new pretty nerd can ruin everything for Belle, her friendships, relationship, and chances at getting into that sports college? Will Belle lose it all just because she's the "popular girl"?
