~Dear Diary~

~Mom tricked me into becoming productive by making me shop for food with her, at least I managed to get some stuff for myself.  Overheard Mckayla talking shit about me, but I should start expecting the worst from her, it'll save me a lot of pain.

Note to self: If and when I get new friends, make sure they stay far, far, far away from Mckayla's evilness! And also make sure I don't fall into being a stupid lackey again! It seems like that's the big cause of my problems.

The idea was to just stay home, watch movies and laugh at the "so bad, it's good "movies and have a nice day. But before I could even do that, mom threw a jean jacket at me and told me to hop in the car because, in her words "We're going shopping!"

"But mom, the mall is a few blocks away, we don't need to drive."

"Oh no, honey." Mom chuckled. "We're going to get a few things for the house, it won't be long." And knowing my mom, I'd be there for hours, if she runs into her friends, I'll try to make myself comfortable for days to come.

We hopped in the car, and I wrote myself a list on things that I needed, a new cupcake tray, cake boxes, more sprinkles and frosting cans and Milk. Well, mom wanted me to put down milk, but I still needed it.

Just like the mall, the place was crowned with people, people, everywhere, shopping for stuff, especially for home goods that can spite up their homes, getting whatever, they can.  Mom and I walked around for a bit, looking at the stuff, having mom get the stuff and just waiting for one of mom's friends to pounce up and start a conversation with her for the next few hours.

I looked to my right and two girls that I knew from school were passing the aisle me and my mom were, they looked at me, looked at each other and giggled towards each other, I can only guess that it's them laughing at me for how messed I am. I stared them down as they kept walking by, and watching my mom pick off cans and flowers for the house with the largest smile I'd ever seen appear on her face, something about them didn't feel right, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

But I decided to shrug it off and just finished up the shopping, that was until I realized that I needed to use the bathroom, very badly.

"Hey, mom? Can I use the bathroom?" I asked. "I need to go really bad!"

"Oh yes! Go, now!" Mom nodded. "Just be quick!" I nodded my head and made a run for the bathroom; I opened up a stall and sat inside and stay quiet, I looked underneath my stall door and saw three pairs of shoes, combat boots, flat sneakers and chucky sneakers walked in the bathroom.

They were out of my sigh as they left and two more shoes came in, heels and sandals. The girls outside of my stall were talking about stuff, and I wasn't paying any attention until I overheard my name, my ears peaked up and I listened in. I know that eavesdropping is bad, but if my name got mention, I need to hear it, and then I recognized Mckayla, Tracey and Chase's voices...

"So, I saw Rosetta and her mom together here." Heels chuckled. "She looked like a total mess! If I was her, I'd get a refund on that botched up wig."

"Oh, that's not actually a wig, it's her real hair." Mckayla snickered. "She's just naturally a trashy cunt, she's been like that ever since 2nd grade."

"Hm, more like since the day she was born." Chase scoffed as Tracey laughed hard. "Yeah, I agree! I'm so glad that Mckayla humbled her, she was so cocky! And for what? Because Andrew doesn't want her? It's so pathetic how she let a guy ruin everything."

All of them cackled like witches and gossiped about me some more, I couldn't see any of their faces, but I could only imagine how big their grins were and how Mckayla's eyes were shining with evil intent, like they did the day I caught her and Andrew.

A few minutes go by, almost feeling like hours, Mckayla and her crew leave the bathroom, still talking and laughing, I peeked for a bit before I washed my hands and head out to be with Mom again, thankful that we were heading home.

I think I was supposed to feel like crying, I know I should be crying, but I'm not. I don't really feel anything towards her, well maybe just blinding rage, but I do know that I'm not feeling sad anymore, which I'll take.  Mom, on the other hand was so cheerful and smiley that some of her joy rubbed off on me, even if I didn't exactly have a good reason to smile.

When we bought all the stuff inside, mom was in such a good mood that she wanted to do a movie night, even though the movies she puts on are typical sitcom shows, but I thought that to myself.

Layla and Dakota watched me as I whipped up cupcakes, red velvet with a cheesecake filling and red frosting with black frowny faces, I have to say, they were a hit.
"Hmm! Damn, these are awesome!" Dakota hooted. "You should you get your heart broken more often."

"Bad time, Dakota, bad time." Layla gritted her teeth as Dakota chuckled nervously. "Okay, okay! Sorry, sis."

"It's fine." I smiled, "I'm okay, well sort of okay."

"Well, I'm sort of gonna get some more cupcakes, if you don't mind." Dakota smiled and grabbed the tray of cupcakes and placed it on the living room table, she was about to jump over the couch before mom gave her a look and awkwardly sit down next to her.

The movie we were watching was some sitcom life with a crazy family and an even crazier road trip with wacky adventures that goes on in the story. It's not one of my favorites, but it was hilarious!

It was nice to burst out laughing after two days of being absolutely miserable and learning about Mckayla's bathroom talks really wounded me, but it was nice being able to laugh at some dummy on tv.

Looks like I'm on my way to recovering, well, more or less.
