After working at the gym the next day, I told Jim that I wouldn't be coming anymore cause I was going back to school and I wouldn't have any time left.

Kat was happy for me even though she'd miss me. I told her I'd come see her and call her everyday. I also told her that she could come to Matt's place to see me if she needed me anytime. Since I was gonna go to classes from Matt's.

Matt didn't want me far away from him. So he told me to take the day classes. So I'll be going every morning; his driver would be taking me.

Finally I was going back to finish school. I would finally have a job and be able to take care of my mum and the bills without any problem. All thanks to Matt.

He was a life saver. He was my guardian angel.

One more thing I had to do before I resume for school. I had to see my mum.

"Kat can I go now, I have to do something really important"

She knew what it was immediately she looked at me.

"Go" she gave me a little smile

I removed the apron I wore which had the Kat's logo on it.

"Thanks"

I took my bag and left. I called Matt when I was outside Kat's along the pedestrian way.

He answered on the first ring

"Anna? Is everything alright?" He sounded concerned

"Yea, everything's fine. I just called to ask you the location of my mum's hospital"

There was a silence on the other end

"Matt?"

"Yea, I'll send it to you"

"Thanks"

"Do you want me to come with you?"

"Uhh...no. I need to this alone"

"Okay. Call me if you need me"

I smiled even though I knew he couldn't see me
"Bye"

"Bye"

A few seconds later I got a message from Matt; the address to the hospital and the direction.

I took a cab there.

I entered the hospital and took the elevator to the third floor like Matt had said in the text.

The elevator dinged. I got out as other people entered. I looked round for anyone who could point out the direction to the room number Matt also wrote in the text. I saw nurses behind a cubicle and went to them.

"Excuse me?" I said when I reached them

A brunette looked at me
"Can I help you?"

"Hmm, I'm here to see my mum"

"Name?"

"Meghan Vaughn"

She typed in the name into the computer
"Ugh, room 214" she looked at me "Down the hall to your right" she pointed at my left side

"Thanks" I smiled at her and made my way down the hall.

I got to the front of room 214. My hand on the knob. I sighed before I opened the door.

I saw my mum laying on the bed, her eyes closed like she was asleep and drips, and wires fixed on her with monitors beside her bed.

I let out my breath. My vision was getting blurry. I walked slowly to her bed and sat on the chair that was near it. I took her hand in mine.

"Mum?" I called like she was gonna wake up and answer me.

I could feel my body shake from the emotions pent up inside me. My hands shook. My heart rate slowed. I could no longer breath without my heart hurting.

"Mum?" I called again my shoulder shaking this time "I'm sorry...I'm sorry for not being here with everyday, I'm sorry for not visiting dad, I'm sorry for everything...I'm sorry for not being the one on the bed" I cried so hard

"I miss you mum, I miss dad...I wanted to see you now cause I might not see you for a while. I'm going back to school; Matt wants me to go back to school, graduate and get a job so that I'll be able to take care of you when you're better. He got you transferred to a better hospital and he's paying the bills, for now. He's a good man mum. You'd have loved him...I have to stay strong so that it'll work out. Every time I see you like this, I lose hope in life. You'll be better here with the doctors for now. But when you're better, mum, I'll get you out without another thought." I cried "I love you mum, I love you soo much" I rose from the chair and kissed her forehead. I let go of her hand and made my way out the door.

That's when I realised I forgot to close the door. I bent my head to hide my teary face from anyone who passed by me. As I stepped out of her room, I hit a hard wall. I had already smelled his scent before I looked up to confirm that it was Matt. I gave him a sad smile with my still wet face and teary eyes.

He looked sad when he looked at me. He pulled me into his arms and wrapped his strong, safe arms around me. I felt safe and at home.

"Lets go" he walked with me right beside him.

We got into the elevator and went out of the hospital to where his car was parked.

Matt's POV

On the way home I turned to look at her. She was asleep.

A few minutes after I sent her the location. I sped up the meeting and hurried to the hospital. When I got there, I saw her sitting on the chair beside her mum's bed. She forgot to close the door behind her.

"... everyday, I'm sorry for not visiting dad, I'm sorry for everything...I'm sorry for not being the one on the bed" I cried so hard.

So she hadn't visited her dad's grave since the funeral. Who would have the courage to go see their parents grave?
I'm happy she isn't the one on that bed. I wouldn't have met her. But at the same time I'm not happy that its her mum.

"I miss you mum, I'm miss dad..."

Her pain was palpable. I could her it in her voice. I could see it in the way she cried.

"...I wanted to see you now cause I might not see you for a while. Matt wants me to go back to school, graduate and get a job so that I'll be able to take care of you when you're better. He got you transferred to a better hospital and he's paying the bills. He's a good man mum. You'd have loved him..."

I smiled when she told her mum about me.

But when you're better, mum, I'll get you out without another thought." I cried "I love you mum, I love you soo much" she rose from the chair and kissed her mum's forehead. She let go of her hand and made her way towards the door.

We got home after several minutes.

I turned the engine off and turned to the left to look at her. She was at peace when she slept. No one to worry about. Still, there was a crease between her brows.

I didn't want to disturb her so, I got out of the car and went to open the entrance door. I went back to her side of the car, I opened her door and picked her up gently in a bridal style trying not to awaken her. I pulled her out of the car and closed the door with my leg. I entered the house and closed it shut with my body as quietly as I could. I carried her to her room and placed her gently on the bed. I removed her converse and her socks. I sat near her on the bed and packed her hair in a bun. I got up and was about leaving when she grabbed my hand and held on to it

"Don't go" she whispered

I looked at her and she sighed in her sleep. She looked so vulnerable. How in the world she passed through everything that has happened, I don't know?

I kicked off my shoes then climbed on the bed and crawled behind her. I laid on the bed, put my arms around her and pulled her closer to me. She willingly came.

I felt my hand being moved away from Anna's waist. But as she put it away, I brought it back around her waist and pulled her to me.

I was awake but I wasn't planning on her letting her know. I could feel her gaze on me, her hand rested on my naked arm.

"Matt?" She whispered

I pretended not to hear.

"Matt?" I didn't steer an inch

She sighed slowly like she was relieved that I was still asleep
"Thank you...for everything. I don't know what I would have done without you. Even though you came into my life by kidnapping me..." I smiled inwardly "...I have a feeling you were meant to be in my life, for this and...everything else"

Then what she said made me the happiest man on the planet.
"I love you, Matt. I guess I always have all along. But I finally realised it when I saw you at the hospital. Even when I told you not to come, you came to comfort me. You're the most annoying, caring and loving man I've ever come across, and I love you, soo much that it scares me" she stopped.

Then I felt her lips on mine. I wanted to open my eyes and ravish her on this bed right now, but I didn't want her to know that I heard what she said. I want her to say it to me when I'm wide awake and not when she thinks I'm asleep.

Anna's POV

I told Matt that I loved him today. Well not technically. He was asleep when I told him. I was such a coward and a chicken to tell him to his face. It was much easier when he was asleep. I'm sure when he's awake I wouldn't have said anything at all cause merely look into his eyes makes my legs go weak. Not to talk of telling him I love him looking into his eyes.

Yea, that was gonna be hard and I'll need more time for that.

I switched the gas off after I removed the last pancake. The scrambled eggs and bacon were ready. Just a cup of coffee for Matt and Tea for me. I put the tea on the fire as I worked the coffee maker.

"Need some help with that?" I heard Matt's sexy husky voice behind me
