The Preacher's Daughter

"Another, " I slurred as I slammed my glass against the counter. The bartender looked at me weirdly before scurrying off to get my drink. He filled my glass to rim with tequila. I gulped it down immediately, grimacing as the the cold liquid slid down my throat.

I got up from the stool and stood up. My head felt really heavy as I gazed at the dance floor of the club. My vision was blurred as green neon lights flashed around the room. I stumbled toward the dance floor, slightly tugging on my skin tight dress that was sucking the life out of me. A song I didn't know was playing and I started dancing to the beat. I was squeezed between a lot of sweaty bodies. Suddenly, strong arms wrapped around my waist and I was pulled back into a hard chest.

I looked up to see guy with shaggy blonde hair. I couldn't see his eyes very well because it was dark. He started to sway our bodies together at the beat. My mind was so intoxicated that I didn't mind and continued with what I was doing.

I got lost into the moment but I suddenly snapped out of it when his hands moved lower until it grabbed my butt and squeezed it. A little soberness hit me as I spun around and slapped him across his face. He stumbled back and looked at me, his faced morphed into anger, his eyes sparked with rage and his lips turned into a snarl like a tiger ready for its prey.

"You little piece of shi-," before I could let him finish, I ran through the sweaty bodies as I made my of the club.

Before I could make it by the entrance, a hand grabbed my elbow and spun me around, pushing me up against the wall.

His breath which reeked of alcohol fanned my face as he whispered maliciously, "You're gonna regret that." He raised his hand back.

This was it. I'm going to die. Goodbye world. My father wouldn't happy when he hears that his daughter was murdered at a night club. I closed my eyes shut waiting for the impact but nothing happened. I opened to see the guy laying there unconscious and a tall dark figure hovering over him.

His body turned in my direction and started walking towards me but I bolted for door. I ran out of the club and desperately hailed for a cab as goosebumps raided my skin from the cold night air. Ten minutes later, one arrived and I got in quickly and told him my address. I paid him what I had left- which was a few coins and pack of gum and hopped out the car.

I walked towards the front door and raised my hand to knock but stopped midway as I realized my parents can't see me in this state. I turned on my phone and squinted my eyes from the brightness of the screen. 2:45 am. Great.

I went behind the house and jumped for joy when I saw that my bedroom window was slightly open. I opened the storage hut and grabbed the ladder and put against the wall. With shaky legs, I climbed up the ladder, hoping that it wouldn't fall back. Once I reached the top I pushed open the window higher.

Suddenly, the light outside my bedroom turned on, there were feet outside the door. I quickly jumped through the window and swiftly landed on my feet. Not bad for person in my state. I went to my bed and put the sheets over my body. Once my head touched the pillow, the door swung open.

I peeked open one eye to see my parents by the doorway. I gave out a soft snore for a little effect.

"You see, honey. I told you that she is sleeping. You had nothing to worry about."

My father sighed," I'm sorry. It's just I had a feeling that she was up and about. You know? I guess I was wrong."

"Well she was here all night, so let's go back to bed."

"But.."

I zoned them out feeling that guilty presence poking me in the side and how I am going to church tomorrow with this massive headache and if I'll ever remember this day!

Through all my thoughts I didn't realized that my bedroom door was closed and the lights were off leaving me in complete darkness.
