Messing With The Wrong One

August

"Fuck!" I yelled as I hit the steering wheel.

"August, calm down!" Summer pleaded as I sped through traffic.

I worked the muscle in my jaw as I stared at the cars moving ahead of me. I was gon' murk somebody. Niggas just didn't get the repercussions of fucking with a nigga like me. A nigga try to turn a new leaf and somebody always gotta make me take it back to the streets.

"Summer, I can't calm down. I try to do right and stay away from unnecessary drama and bullshit, but it always has a way of finding me."

"Baby I don't want you to do anything that will get you in trouble."

"It's too late fa' that because right na' my mind is on fucking somebody up. Do you know how long and how much work I put into my club to have it damaged?"

I finally pulled up to my club and I saw the fire department along with the police. I hopped out my Range and Summer was right behind me. As I approached the scene I was greeted with a slew of officers. One of I knew and I knew that he was about to be slick out of the mouth.

"Well if it isn't August Alsina." Officer Smith smirked.

"And if it isn't tha' asshole of the century." I stepped past him.

"Summer what are you doing with him?" He asked.

"None of your business. Now run and tell my father that." She grabbed my hand and walked inside with me.

"Damn Summer you can't go nowhea' without somebody knowing whose daughter you are." I let her hand go and walked to where a couple firemen were.

I know it seemed as if I was being cold towards Summer, but her damn hypocritical daddy get on my nerves. He got goons checking for her in every directions like she twelve years old.

I looked around my club and I shook my head at the damaged that was done. Somebody had started a fire that took out the lower level of the VIP section. My bar was trashed, hell the whole club was trashed. I shook my head in disbelief.

I talked with the chief of the fire department and he explained things to me. I knew that it was gon' take some time to get things up and running again, but I knew that I would soon. I looked up when I saw Amp walk in my direction.

"My nigga, what tha' fuck happened?" I ran my hands across my hair.

"Hell I don't know. The place was trashed then somebody threw a bottle with gas inside, which started the fire." Amp said as he looked around.

"Oh hell. Here come that whack ass Smith."

I looked back and rolled my eyes because I wasn't in the mood for his petty bullshit. I knew that at times I could be petty, but he took petty to a whole new meaning. I took a moment to look over at Summer and she looked like she was pissed to the max. I sighed because I knew that she was upset with me.

"So who you pissed off this time Yung?"

"Smith I'm not in tha' mood fa' yo bullshit ta'day?"

"I understand, but its obvious that you did something for somebody to do all this to your nice little club."

I took a deep breath because I was five seconds from punching his ass dead in the mouth. "Well, Smith to bad my club is gon' be shut down for a while because now ya' wife won't have nowhea' to shake her ass, unless she shake it at Magic City, oh damn she do don't she, but aye a nigga like me unda'stand the struggle is real. I ain't judging." I smirked and walked off.

I could feel his eyes staring at me and I knew that nigga hated me, but the feeling was mutual. I was making my way towards Summer, but she quickly went in the other direction. "Dammit!" I said aloud.

Summer

I understand that August is upset. I would be too, but he just blew me off all because of what officer Smith said. I had no control over who my dad knows. Naturally because I'm his daughter, everybody feels the need to always bud in where they don't need to. Now I understand why he blew me off that night at the club.

Seconds later I heard August behind me, but I didn't turn around. I kept my back to him as I stared at nothing in particular.

"Summer I'm sorry."

"Yeah, I'm sorry too. August, you know how this goes. I can't help that my father knows everybody in the city, but don't treat me cold because you don't like my father."

He pinched the bridge of his nose and looked at me intently. I couldn't make out what he was thinking. It was like something was weighing heavily on his mind. At the mention of my father that is usually what happens. I get the feeling that its something about my father that he knows or at least thinks he knows. I know my father is overbearing and he comes off as over protective, but I know he means well.

Still there is the fact that he is or was sleeping with Callie. That reminds me that I haven't talked to Lauren in a while. Something is going on. Matter of fact I haven't seen her at work either. I had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach.

"Summer its a lot you don't un-"

"Aye! Aug, this came for you?" Amp handed him a unmarked envelope.

"What's this shit?"

"I don't know. Some dude dropped if off." Amp shrugged and walked off.

"August what in the world is going on?"

"That's a million dolla' question." He looked down at the envelope and back to me.

"Are you going to open the letter up?" I raised my brow as I folded my arms across my chest.

"Hell I might as well. Seems like ta'day is nothing but surprises." He pulled the letter out and started reading it.

I watched as his facial expression changed to one of pure and unadulterated anger. He worked the muscle in his jaw.

"Baby what is it?" I tried to touch him, but he rejected my touch.

"Summer, I need to take you home."

"August what's going on?"

"Nothing fa' you to worry about. C'mon." He turned and headed for the door.

I felt defeated and rejected. He was shutting me out and I had to admit that it hurt me more than I cared to admit. I sighed and followed him out. He was standing my door and opened it for me to get in.

He walked around and got in. The car ride was filled with silence. I would glance at August, but he was focused on the road. I just looked out the window and got lost in my thoughts. It wasn't long before we pulled up to my condo. I sat there hoping that he would say something, but he didn't say anything. He just sat there not even looking at me.

"August are you going to tell me what's going on?"

"Summer just go in the house. This is something I gotta handle on my on. I need some space."

"Aug-"

"Summer, just go. I will talk to you soon."

"Fine." I got out the car and shut the door. I stood there and waited for him to pull off. I didn't have to wait long before he peeled off.

I stood there and was lost, hurt and confused. I made my way towards my door and I noticed a baby carrier off to the side. I peeped inside and there was a beautiful baby girl inside.

"What in the world?" I looked around and kneeled down. There was a not attached to the carrier.

I grabbed the note and read it:

Thought that it was time that you met the addition to your family. Meet your baby sister....

August

I pulled up to my house and sat there my car. I held the note and read the note over and over again. Hurt and anger took over my body. I don't know who is playing tricks on me or why the devil is busy attacking, but I refuse to be defeated and broken again.

As I read the words again I felt tears slide down my face. My tears dropped on the paper blotting out the words, but it didn't matter because the words were etched in my memory.

Your brother's death wasn't an accident. It was planned . It was a setup. In time you will have all the answers you need and thank you for watching out for  Summer.....

Well things are about to go down real soon....

Excuse Mistakes!
