#10. Stealing

We walked down the winding street of our neighborhood silently, so we didn't disturb anyone or any creatures of the night.

After a few more moments of silence, I could hear the sounds of horses from somewhere nearby. It was then that the thought suddenly clicked into my head:

Were we going to steal horses?!!!

" Are we going to steal horses?", I asked in a quiet voice shocked at the thought of Natalie stealing something!

She sighed. " Yes, this is the quickest way! We have to be miles away from this area before dawn or we will be turned into blood bags by vampires around us!"

I nodded and stayed silent as we walked the rest of the way to the farm or whatever they called it around here.

After a few more minutes of walking, we found two horses that were known to be the fastest around here, which would help us greatly to not get sucked dry by vampires.

Natalie and I both held out one of our hands to a horse letting it sniff us before we tried to get closer or do anything else that might spook them.

The beautiful black beauty snorted before crouching down onto the ground to make it easier for me to get up onto its back. Natalie on the other hand was already seated on her brown and white spotted horses back.

I carefully climbed onto my horse's back, not wanting to hurt him or her or startle it off with any wrong movements that could lead us to get caught.

So far my horse hadn't made a move to get away from me so I guess I was doing it the right way. With one mighty swing, I had finally got onto the back of my horse thankfully without any trouble from the quite large animal.

I pointed my feet on both sides of the horse's stomach, so that I could help direct how fast I needed to go, and what direction to go to.

Natalie tapped her horse with the tip of her boots rapidly causing the horse to speed off into a steady trot. Not wanting to be left behind, I did the same and held on for dear life as the horse started moving.

The horse I was riding let out a snort as we headed into the woods, to finally make our journey start.

" RIDE HIM, ADELINE!", Natalie laughed as our horses were now neck and neck with each other.
