OH HEX NO!
I'M SO SORRY THAT THIS TOOK ME SO LONG TO WRITE 😣😣😣😣😣

3rd POV
"Okay class, first of all I don't want this place to turn into a madhouse so I'm going to ask you all to keep your excitement inside until you get out of the building, second of all this is a school wide announcement so you aren't the only classes receiving it and I fully expect ALL of you to STAY OFF YOUR PHONES EVEN IF THEY START EXPLODING WITH NOTIFICATIONS." Miss Bourgeois said glaring pointedly at Isabelle Brontes who rolled her golden eyes and placed her phone down in front of her. Aisling slumped slightly in her seat as she stared unwaveringly at the clock on the wall, willing it to go faster so that she could get out of the room and out on patrol. Ladybird had taken to bringing goods from Marinette's parents' bakery and Aisling would be damned if Sunder was going to get the last croissant tonight.
"I know that you've all been hearing about the rumors that some of the students of this school are going to be able to attend auditions for the upcoming competition show: 'Rising Talent' I am here to confirm that one of you from each class will have a chance to get onto the show, auditions start tomorrow at 8:00, if you want to be considered be on time." Miss Bourgeois added before dismissing the class. Aisling made a beeline for the exit and was tackled from behind by Jacques.
"Whoa, whoa! Slow down Ash, where's the fire?" He asked grinning at her as his arm rested comfortably on her shoulders. Aisling shrugged and said, "I just want to leg it over to the bakery and home so that I can get my work done before patrol is all." Stella and Bridgette joined them and they turned so that the four of them could talk.
"Hey Aisling, sorry to bother you but could we all study at your house? My parents are being kinda psychotic lately because of some fashion deadline mom has and I'm pretty sure that if I tried to do that history assignment on my own that my head would explode." Bridgette said sheepishly. Aisling considered the question for a moment before slowly responding, "Honestly I'm not sure if my parents would be alright with that.... After all there's still the 'No Jacques allowed' rule te consider."
"Oh come on, even YOUR parents can't give you trouble for having me over to STUDY, who knows Ash, they might even think that you'd have a good influence on me." Jacques said squeezing her shoulders in a tight side hug. She thought about it for a moment before relenting.
"Oh alright, let's give it a lash, I mean they haven't been giving out about the whole thing in donkey's years after all." There was a pause before Bridgette said, "I didn't entirely understand that but if it's a yes then awesome!" Jacques chuckled.
"It means that her parents haven't been complaining about her spending time with me in a while." He translated with a grin.
"How did you even understand that?" Bridgette asked in a slightly strained tone. He chuckled and rubbed the back of his head.
"I'd love to say that it's some kind of best friend telepathy or something but truth is I got an Irish slang translator on my phone." Jacques said with a chuckle. Aisling barked out a laugh and shoved him slightly and the four friends started heading over to Aisling's house. When they got there Stella asked, "So how are we going to handle this? Are you going in first to talk about it with your parents or.....?" Aisling shook her head and just opened the door and headed inside. Her three friends looked around at the immaculate pastel blue interior, taking in every detail from the crown molding to the small island-like wall separating the kitchen from the dining room.
"Mam, dad the history homework has got my friends and Jacques in bits and tutoring is canceled for the day so I'm going to give it a lash and help them out." Aisling called making her way to the pristine white staircase.
"Fair play to you for taking some responsibility for yourself, now leg it up to your room and make sure your man there doesn't go acting the maggot!" Yelled a blonde woman with sharp green eyes in a fifties style pale green dress as she removed some things from a box and placed them around the kitchen.
"Thanks a million!" Aisling called as she raced upstairs and pulled a key out of her purse.
"You.... Have a key to your room?" Bridgette asked sounding deeply concerned.
"Oh yeah, my parents insisted, it helps me to feel independent. Besides they don't want to have someone visit and see all the stuff in my room, doesn't really match their style." Aisling responded offhandedly as she unlocked a white door just off the stairs. Bridgette and Stella shot a look at Jacques who grinned back at them and mouthed 'Wait for it.' As Aisling pushed the door open Stella and Bridgette's jaws dropped. In place of the monochrome pastel blue that covered all the other walls Aisling's room was painted a dark red that borderlined black, covering the walls were posters of rock bands and vinyl record covers. At the foot of her Kitty Section sheet covered bed sat a sleek, deep black and green electric guitar that rested on a stand attached to an amplifier. The two girls' eyes moved away from the room and glued themselves to their prim, librarian like friend as she removed her red leather jacket and hung it up on the back of her white desk chair before turning to meet their awestruck gaze.
"Well, come on this homework isn't going to finish itself and I gave up a baked good for helping you so quit standing there with yer mouths hangin' open like a couple of eejits and let's get te work!" Aisling called clapping her hands together.
"Metal......" Stella murmured earning a nod from Bridgette while Jacques chuckled as the four of them settled down onto the floor. After a few hours of work under the drill sergeant that was Aisling McKenna the four of them had completely finished all of their work and were relaxing in her room.
"So you basically have free reign in here?" Stella asked. Aisling nodded simply and leaned forward to rest her elbows on her knees.
"Don't get me wrong my parents love me,a little too much sometimes, but there's a damn good reason my parents sent me all the way to a boarding school in Belfast." She said with a shrug. Bridgette, sensing that they were starting to wander into dangerous territory asked, "Is that really a Luka Couffaine original?" She gestured to the guitar and Aisling walked over to it, picking it up.
"Yep, my auld roommates back in Belfast got it for me, not entirely sure if it was as a going away present or a bribe really, actually I even met him at the store." Aisling said nonchalantly earning a gasp from Stella.
"You're telling me that you've met THE Luka Couffaine!? As in famous stringed instrument maker and lead guitarist for Kitty Section!?" She shouted staring at Aisling with sparkling eyes. Aisling nodded with a grin and said, "He was honestly super cool! I was there looking for a violin because my parents signed me up for lessons at the school after I said I wanted to be a musician but I guess he noticed me glancing over at the guitars because he just walked up to me and handed me this one saying that it 'matches my melody better' I haven't the foggiest about what that could mean but I tried playing it and a month later it was mine." As Aisling finished the story Jacques gave a small cough and asked, "Why don't you play something Ash?" Bridgette shot a glance at him as Aisling sat down next to him on her bed and couldn't help but notice the slight jealousy that flashed through his eyes as Aisling gushed and tamped down a swell of jealousy of her own. Aisling settled herself and finished tuning her guitar before playing Albatross by Fleetwood Mac. When she was finished Bridgette all but lunged at her and grabbed her by the shoulders.
"Aisling I do not say this lightly, but you HAVE to try out for the competition show! Your playing is insane! You'd definitely get our class' spot." She said staring at Aisling intensely. Just then there were thundering footsteps coming up the stairs and the door to Aisling's room burst open.
"Aisling what's this I hear about a competition?!" Asked a tall black haired man with sharp brown eyes in a professional suit.
"Oh gods, Stella, Bridgette meet my dad, dad these are my friends and you already know Jacques who is just here for tutoring. Bridgette was just talking about some bloody stupid talent competition show or whatever that some students are trying out for, something I'm NOT interested in joining." Aisling said emphatically. However her attempt at diverting her father's attention away from the competition fell on deaf ears as he yelled downstairs, "Cara, Cara come up here!" Aisling groaned and buried her head in her hands as her mother came thundering up the stairs and frantically looked around for any injuries.
"What, Brendan what happened?!" She asked in a panicked voice.
"A ghrá our daughter's class is getting the chance to participate in a talent competition and she didn't tell us." Aisling's father said in a nearly accusatory tone. Aisling's mother looked over at the despondent girl and asked, "Aisling is that true?" Aisling Sighed and nodded.
"Yes mam, I just learned about it today and I really don't care! You know I don't like that sort of thing." Aisling said shooting a pleading look over at her friends.
"I already said that you should do it." Bridgette said holding her hands up in surrender.
"Take it from someone who's whole career started because of an audition, it could be a good idea." Stella stated encouragingly. In a last ditch effort Aisling sent Jacques a desperate glance, pleading with him to say something that could convince her parents to stop instead he shot her an infuriating grin and said, "Come on Ash, we're all rooting for you, get on board." Aisling's head dropped to her lap with a loud groan as her parents exchanged statements about lifting their ban on Jacques and Aisling's outfit for the audition.
(Time skip to the next day)
"Oh my lovely little vision! Look how beautiful you look!" Aisling's mother cooed as she looked at her daughter. Aisling stood in front of the school with her guitar case strapped to her back in a long black dress with her hair in its signature bun.
"Mam! I look like I'm about to go in and play a concerto not a rock ballad!" Aisling groaned as her father took pictures of her from every angle. Before Aisling's mother could respond Aisling's friends came over and Aisling took the opportunity to race off.
"I hope you know that I FULLY blame you for this mess." Aisling said glaring at Jacques.
"Me? Why not blame Bridgette?! She's the one who summoned your father!" He yelled in response.
"You could have WARNED HER NOT TO BRING IT UP!" She shouted angrily.
"SO COULD YOU! I mean come on they're your parents!"
Bridgette hung back with Stella and asked, "Have they been at this for long?" She shot a nervous glance at her fighting friends.
"Since you left her house they haven't stopped arguing once." Stella replied sounding exhausted as she took a long draft from a coffee cup.
"Yeash....." Bridgette responded as they entered the school. They all parted ways as Aisling was directed to where she needed to go to prepare before her audition.
"Blek, school on a Saturday, it doesn't feel natural." Plagg said flying out of Aisling's guitar case.
"It's just my bloody Luck." Aisling spat as she tuned her guitar. A little while later she was called out to the stage of the school's auditorium.
"Look Miss Bourgeois I am sorry that one of your students still has yet to arrive but we don't have all day." Said the head judge who then dismissed Miss Bourgeois from the stage and called out Aisling. Aisling squared up with the microphone in the middle of the stage and looked out at the judges and then into the audience where she saw her parents and friends grinning and giving her thumbs ups.
"Hi, my name is Aisling McKenna and I'm auditioning for the spot for Miss Bourgeois' class." She said into the microphone. The head judge nodded and looked at her clipboard in front of her.
"And what will you be doing for this audition Miss McKenna?" She asked. Aisling took a deep breath and replied, "I'm going to be playing 'Bad Luck Charm' by Jeff Williams." With that Aisling took her guitar and began playing. Her fingers flew across the strings, tore through the cords and shredded every note. As she poured herself into the song she let her emotions flow from her fingers into the strings.
(Meanwhile)
"Oh my..... so many emotions: pain, abandonment, guilt, isolation, fear. This poor girl could truly be my masterpiece." Monarch purred with a wicked grin. She clasped an Akuma in her hand and released it, sending it out after Aisling as her emotions poured out into her song. However as she played all of her emotions swirled and combined, solidifying into feelings, feelings of acceptance and pride. As her negative emotions melted away the Akuma found itself stalling, fluttering in the air outside the auditorium.
"What!? Oh come on!" Monarch shrieked as her Akuma stalled. Just then a boy from Aisling's class in a traditional magician outfit was running to the school's auditorium.
"Well, well, well what have we here? A young man after Khaos' own troubled heart, let's see how he enjoys having his prey stolen, all we're going to need is for one little push...." Monarch simpered menacingly. The boy pushed open the door to the auditorium just as the head judge declared, "Well Miss McKenna, congratulations! You've got the spot!" Aisling's bashful expression changed to one of horror as the Akuma that had been waiting outside fluttered in and alighted upon the boy's bow tie, turning the object black with orange veins crackling across it like glowing lines of molten lava. As a familiar butterfly outline appeared around his eyes Aisling's eyes darted from Jacques over to the boy, who she recognized as her classmate Henri.
"Are you alright dear? You look like you've seen a ghost." Stated the head judge with polite concern. Aisling opened her mouth to respond but was interrupted by a voice shouting, "Alaska-slam!" and Aisling was knocked off her feet by an unseen force. Out in the auditorium Jacques and Stella, along with the other people in the auditorium, had crouched down to hide from the Akuma, a lanky boy in a long dark purple overcoat with long coattails over a white shirt with a red bow tie and a light purple cummerbund. He also wore a pair of black slacks and loafers. On his head he wore a tall black top hat that was tipped over his eyes. The two of them exchanged a look and as the Akuma talked at length about his humiliation at not being able to even audition for the class spot the two of them began to sneak away towards the stage. Bridgette, seeing her friends starting to move grabbed Jacques' arm in terrified desperation.
"Where are you going?! We should just hide here until Ladybird and Miss Fortune get here." She hissed her eyes darting around the room frantically. Stella bristled slightly before Jacques quietly responded, "First of all, don't forget about Sunder, she's just as important as the other two. Second of all someone has to check in on Aisling and flag down the heroes, we're no good if we just cower in fear." Feeling chided and hurt Bridgette released his arm and the two of them made their way backstage, making sure to keep their heads down.
Backstage Plagg flew out from Aisling's guitar case and hovered next to a winded and seemingly unconscious Aisling.
"Kid! Come on kid wake up!" He whisper yelled pushing at her head. Stella and Jacques made it behind the curtain and over to her as Aisling slowly sat up, groaning slightly.
"Oi, Plagg, Tikki, if I were to cataclysm someone would they be healed by the miracle cure?" Aisling asked with a growl. The two kwamis flew in front of her face and simultaneously shouted,
"Yes!"
"No!" Tikki shot Jacques a horrified 'please fix this!' look and he nodded.
"We're not going to be cataclysming anyone Ash, but the Akumatized object is all yours." Jacques said reasonably as he helped Aisling to her feet. She growled in response.
"Alright let's get this done." Aisling said earning nods from her, slightly frightened, teammates.
"Plagg, claws out!"
"Tikki, spots on!"
"Mullo, get squeaky!"
(Meanwhile)
"Now that I've eliminated the competition I Hex will take my ri-" The Akuma was cut off by a baton being brought down onto his head by Miss Fortune as she jumped through the air and shouted, "OH HOUL YER WHISHT! What happened to supervillains that just caused mayhem without long complicated monologues?!" Back on the stage Sunder leaned over to Ladybird and asked, "'Houl yer whisht'?" He chuckled and leaned back to her and whispered, "It's Belfast for shut up."
"She's harsh but right, you really need to shorten those monologues, I mean you left yourself wide open." Ladybird said taunting the dazed villain. As Hex began to stir Aisling's parents bore down on Miss Fortune.
"What did you do to our daughter you useless vigilante?! If she isn't safe-!" Brendan McKenna was cut off by Miss Fortune shoving him back and shouting, "Stall the ball, are you serious?! I just saved your lives by taking down the Akuma and your first reaction is to insult me and question if I hurt an innocent civilian?! It's not like I'm expecting you to sing my praises but a simple 'Thanks a million for saving our lives' would be nice te say the least!" Ladybird quickly got between Miss Fortune and her rabid parents.
"Tell your wan that if that menace expects any kind of thanks from us she'd better get her head checked!" Cara McKenna shouted her eyes wild and frantic.
"And that if she so much as laid a single hand on our daughter-" once again Brendan was cut off, this time by Ladybird who moved to defend his teammate.
"Miss Fortune personally saved your daughter and moved her to a safe place out of danger and then immediately came back to save you so instead of spitting vitriol at her maybe you could show some gratitude." He growled feeling more than a little fed up with their misplaced hatred. Meanwhile as they argued Hex pulled himself to his feet and began pointing his wand at the civilians in the auditorium and, taking advantage of the heroes' distraction, started using a spell that caused the people that it was directed at to turn into glassy-eyed rabbits.
"Um.... Guys....?" Sunder called timidly as her teammates fought with Miss Fortune's parents. Once everyone else was transformed and sitting obediently with twitching noses Hex turned his attention to the squabbling heroes.
"Guys!" Sunder called again, louder this time in hopes of diverting their attention back to the matter at hand. Despite her increased volume Sunder's calls fell on deaf ears. 'Okay that's it!' She thought, tackling her teammates to the ground as Hex pointed his wand and shouted, "Obey Sesame!" The three of them skidded across the floor of the auditorium for a short distance and Hex ordered the rabbits, "Keep them busy while I go and have a chat with the network that set up this competition!" The rabbits simultaneously turned to the heroes and Miss Fortune paused and muttered, "'Obey Sesame'?! What kind of eejit comes up with this shi-" Her words broke off as her eyes fell onto the snow white rabbits sitting obediently where her parents had just been. There was a moment of silence before Miss Fortune let out a loud shriek and used her baton to rush upwards to the ceiling high.
"What the hell are you doing Lucky?!" Ladybird asked as he used his yo-yo to deflect a rabbit that had launched itself at him. He and Sunder glanced upwards at her and was met with the sight of a trembling hero wrapped around her weapon and looking down at their assailants in abject terror.
"Rabbits.....why'd it have to be rabbits?!" Miss Fortune muttered in clear hysterics.
"Okay Sunder you handle the situation down here, I'll go talk to our cat-shit crazy partner over there." Ladybird said with a wry smile.
"I heard that! What have I said about puns?" Miss Fortune called down to them irritability. Ladybird laughed and latched his yo-yo around a beam in the ceiling and sat in a loop he'd made in the string.
"Okay Lucky, talk to me, what's going on?" He said seriously. Miss Fortune sighed and took a deep breath.
"Well.... You know my... history with Luck right? Well when I was a kid one of my uncles gave me a rabbit's foot to 'help balance things out' and it worked for a while. I was proud that I could finally feel normal for once..... and then one day a boy in my class saw it and told me about how it was from a real rabbit and I freaked out." She explained dejectedly, before her look turned into one of annoyance and she added, "Also my gran used to have one that would always bite me, nasty little bugger." Ladybird winced before he shot Miss Fortune a grin that was so mischievous that it could have almost been mistaken for malicious.
"Then why don't we get back at it? Your parents too for that matter. After all what other time would you get the chance to get back at your most staunch opposition, other than the supervillains, while also getting immersion therapy by punting rabbits?" He said his wicked grin widening. Miss Fortune laughed and said, "I don't know what's worse about that idea, the fact that it's borderline evil or the fact that I find it tempting." Ladybird paused, his grin never slipping from his face, and asked, "Are.... Are we the bad guys?" Miss Fortune shot him a wry grin and said, "Well I certainly hope not, I'd hate to prove my parents right." The two of them broke down laughing at that comment only to be pulled out of their revelry by Sunder.
"I'M GLAD YOU AREN'T HAVING A PANIC ATTACK ANYMORE BUT COULD YOU PLEASE COME DOWN HERE AND HELP ME?!" She yelled as she tried to pry off rabbits that were gnawing at her suit. Miss Fortune and Ladybird shared a nod and lowered themselves to the floor.
"Alright you bloody poxes I've had enough of this bullshite for the day so I'm taking my friends and leavan. After all, I've got a hallion te beat." Miss Fortune growled, and despite the fact that they were all undoubtedly being controlled by Hex something in the rabbits told them that they'd be better off if they ignored their orders and got out of the enraged heroine's way.
(Meanwhile)
The heroes all jumped out of one of Miss Fortune's Black Holes, emerging into total chaos. Hex had gone on a casting spree and essentially turned what looked like the entire population of Paris into rabbits who were all moving in the direction of the Eiffel Tower.
"Oh...... oh I...... I hate this...... I hate this so much....." Miss Fortune said her ears flattening as her braid began to poof up at the sight.
"Immersion therapy, remember?" Ladybird said with a nervous smile as she began to slowly back away from the bunnies. Sunder glanced between them and said, "Rooftops?" Her teammates nodded and Miss Fortune said, "Rooftops." The three of them ran along the rooftops in the same direction as the rabbits and discussed their plan.
"Okay so I know where the Akuma is but I'm going te have a problem getting it without hurting Henri." Miss Fortune said as they ran. Ladybird nodded and said, "That's where Mini and I will come in. I'll use my L.C while she'll use her Multitude to try and get the object."
"Okay good plan, just to clarify why did you call me 'Mini' and what the hell is a 'L.C'?" Sunder asked with a slight scowl.
"He likes nicknames, you get used to it, and L.C stands for Lucky Charm. We can't say the names of our powers without them activating, it's a bloody bother." Miss Fortune answered before Ladybird could respond. Ladybird laughed and nodded
"Yeah that pretty much sums it up." He said with an embarrassed grin. When they finally found Hex Miss Fortune was immediately hit with an unyielding sense of guilt.
"And now for my next trick...!" The three heroes stared at the akumatized victim as he proceeded to preform a magic trick realizing what the source of his akumatization was. The poor guy just wanted te try out for the spot on the show..... Miss Fortune thought despondently. Then without another word she jumped off the roof, waded through the tide of bunnies and then stood right in front of Hex.
"Henri, give me the tie and go back to the theater, I think if you explain the situation the judges will give let you give it a lash." She said holding her hand out to him.
"Why should I listen to you?!" Hex yelled angrily.
"Because I can say on good authority that your teacher was fighting with the judges to wait until you got the chance to preform. Hex looked at her hesitantly and nodded before a butterfly outline went over his eyes and suddenly a white butterfly emerged from his tie and he returned to normal. Well... I guess Monarch doesn't like playing nice. Ladybird thought as he watched this exchange.
"So what's the plan now?" Sunder asked him as the two of them prepared to jump off the rooftop that they were perched on.
"Well now I just need to call for my miracle cure and we can all go home." He said kinda hesitantly as they walked over to their teammate.
"Sorry for ruining the plan Birdie but I had to try." Miss Fortune said gesturing to, a very confused Henri.
"Hey butterflies with honey." Ladybird responded with a shrug before throwing his yo-yo into the air calling for his miracle cure. Once everything was back to normal the three of them split up, Miss Fortune escorting Henri back to the theater while the other two made their way through a different route.
(Meanwhile on a nearby rooftop)
"I can only assume that you're calling me at a time like this to give me an update?" Asked a feminine voice.
"They're better than we thought they'd be, they just talked down an Akumatized victim to the point where the Akuma was revoked, without any of them using their powers." A man said as he observed the three heroes separate from a hidden spot on a roof.
"That's........ I can't believe it..... are you sure?" The feminine voice responded her tone dripping with shock.
"There's no doubt, Miss Fortune just walked over and talked him down next thing I know the Akuma is back to normal and Ladybird is using his yo-yo for the Miracle cure. Sunder didn't even have to reform she just watched." The man breathed obviously in awe of the young heroes' achievements.
"Okay well I've heard enough, hurry up and get back, we have a lot to discuss." The feminine voice said before a click was heard on the other end. The man chuckled and dropped down off of the roof into the shadows of the city.
