Mouse or Man? Part 1
3rd POV
Stella Blaise was starting her first day at Collège Françoise Dupont and right off the bat she was met by near rabid fans. She was expecting this but didn't expect to have a stern green eyed girl with an Irish accent glare at the mob and say, "Would you all please stop acting the maggot before I eat the head off of all of you? We're trying te get to class!" Stella also especially didn't expect the crowd to quickly respond by dispersing and going about their day as though there weren't a celebrity in their midst.
"Oi,what class are you going to? I can try and show you the way if you want." The girl said with a smile. Stella showed the girl and the auburn haired boy standing next to her her schedule.
"Well that's grand! You're in the same room us! I'm Aisling by the way and this is Jacques." The girl, Aisling, said with a grin introducing herself and her friend. A slow, genuine smile made its way onto Stella's face as a realization dawned on her.
"You were both at my concert last week, right in the front row! I remember, you were singing along to every word of every song!" She said pointing at Aisling. The Irish girl stared blankly at her for a minute before turning and beginning to walk across the street before her friend, Jacques, hooked his arm into her's and turned her around.
"Where are you going, class is this way." He laughed pulling her in the direction of the school. Aishling resisted and tried to extricate herself from his grip, to no avail, as she nonchalantly stated, "Oh you know just gonna go leg it over to the shops, just need to get the messages and all that." Jacques chuckled and nodded.
"Right, and what exactly do the 'messages' entail this time around,hm?" He asked hardly able to keep his amusement out of his voice. Aisling, still acting totally blasé, shrugged and said, "Oh you know, buying myself a shovel to dig myself a hole to die in from embarrassment is all. No big deal, go ahead to class I'll catch you up later." Jacques shook his head and grinned at her.
"Come on Ash, we have a test today in maths." He said shooting Stella a beckoning nod and pulling a resigned Aisling with him. Stella followed behind them with an amused smile. 'Cute couple.' She thought as they all made their way to class. The school day was uneventful until Miss Bourgeois assigned them to read the assigned book individually. Stella stared at the French in front of her nonplussed. She knew how to speak French fluently just in case she wasn't sent the questions for interviews in advance but reading French was a whole different story. As she attempted to make sense of the words in front of her a hand gently tapped her shoulder.
"If you want we can trade books, mines in English but I don't really need it, I've learned to read French well enough that I think I can give reading it a lash." Aisling whispered leaning down from her seat behind Stella. Stella nodded gratefully and they tried to trade surreptitiously.
"Aisling! I remember telling you all to read individually." Miss Bourgeois stated giving the Irish girl an angry and questioning glare. Aisling smiled sheepishly and said, "I was well aware of that Miss, it's just that the new student looked like she was struggling so I thought I'd give her a hand." Miss Bourgeois shot a questioning glare at Stella to confirm her claim and she nodded meekly.
"Well Stella, in the future just raise your hand and ask me for help if you're struggling. That's what I'm here for after all, to help you." The blond teacher said with a surprisingly gentle smile. Stella nodded with a small smile. The teacher walked over to them and noticed that Aisling was holding a French copy of the required reading.
"Aisling, why aren't you reading an English copy of this? The school made sure that we had one specifically for you to use." She asked suspicion clear in her voice.
"Um, Miss, I actually have it. Aishling offered that we switch because I didn't have an English copy and she said she could read French..." Stella piped up sheepishly. Miss Bourgeois stared at the book in Stella's hand and slowly turned red.
"Are. You. KIDDING ME?! Are you going to honestly tell me that you didn't get an English copy of this?! I made CERTAIN to order one when I heard that we were getting another English speaking student! What did it not get delivered!? Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous!" She exploded going to dig through her supplies to try and find the book. Stella looked at the teacher with a mix of fear and respect.
"That's Miss Bourgeois for you, heart as solid gold as her jewelry and fuse the length of her chalk." Jacques said just loud enough for their side of the class to hear. A girl with raven hair and green eyes giggled and Aisling fist bumped him.
"Nice one!" She said with a cheeky grin. Stella looked back at their teacher who was yelling into her phone for all she was worth and muttered, "Metal......"
(Slight time skip to lunch brought to you by Miss Bourgeois' rage)
"Thanks Miss, we really appreciate it!" Aisling called as she and Jacques exited the classroom. Stella shot them a desperate look as a particular fan kept badgering her to come and share lunch with her. The two exchanged an amused look before walking over to them. The fan was a petite auburn haired girl with striking blue eyes in a pink dress.
"Sorry Iris, but Stella already agreed to have lunch with us." Jacques said with a charming, apologetic smile as Aisling slinked in behind her and led Stella away by a few steps. The girl giggled and said, "Oh, no problem! Enjoy your lunch!" He shot her a nod as she left and turned back to the others.
"Sorry about my sister Stella, she's......." Jacques trailed off not knowing how to finish the sentence.
"Enthusiastic?" Aisling offered as she supported a slightly overwhelmed Stella who nodded understandingly.
"Hey we're going to meet with our tutor if you want to come, they're always down for new students and after the reading fiasco I kinda figured..." Jacques trailed off again leaving the invitation open ended. Stella looked between the two of them and nodded. 'Wow, I'm surprised that they're okay with me third-wheeling.' She thought
"I mean if you guys don't mind." She said. Jacques and Aishling grinned and nodded for her to follow them.
(Meanwhile)
A woman with long raven hair sat in an office running a search on the many computer screens around her.
"Where the hell are you." She growled. Just then her phone dinged.
New student en route, have new desk prepared~🐝 After reading the text the woman let out a long suffering sigh.
"Well.... I guess I'll go get it ready."
(Meanwhile)
Stella looked up at the massive building before her. There was a plaque on the left side of the daunting gate reading: The Agreste Institute of Tutelage right next to the gate. Jacques pressed a button on a panel opposite the plaque and motioned for Stella to introduce herself as a terrifying camera came out of the wall and inspected her.
"This is Stella Blaise, she's a new student and we thought she would make a good addition to our group." He said as Stella waved sheepishly. On the other side of the camera someone suppressed a laugh and muttered, "Well that explains the mood she's been in." The gate opened and a pleasant, automated sounding voice said, "Come on in kids, make yourselves comfortable." The three of them walked in through the gate and Stella looked around wonderingly.
"Isn't this place a world renowned institution?" She asked, trying not to imply that it seemed too expensive for her new friends. Without skipping a beat or looking back at her Aisling and Jacques both chorused, "Scholarship." The second they were inside they were immediately met by a blond man with green eyes in a scholarly suit.
"Hey guys, Jacques, Aisling Marinette wants to see you, now. In the meantime I'll get Stella settled in the classroom. Hi, Stella I'm Adrien, welcome to my school."
