Five Supes and a Baby
Lindsey's POV
"Oh, this dress? Thank you, Dylan. I actually got it last weekend. And thanks for the compliment, but I'm not that pretty." Pheobe flirted with Locker Dylan. Phoebe was practicing with a locker version of her crush, Dylan, before actually talking to him. She is very nervous about talking to the real person and she's making a huge deal about it.
"Okay, now that Locker Dylan's into you, try talking to the actual Dylan," Cherry suggested, pointing to the real Dylan. He's kind of attractive but I've seen cuter.
"I can't he's too cute." Phoebe sighed, closing her locker. "Besides I got a good thing going with Locker Dylan right now, and I don't want to mess that up."
I rolled my eyes. "Stop it. You've been crushing on him for two weeks. Just go talk to him."
"About what? I don't even know if we have anything in common." Phoebe protested, staring at Dylan.
"It's too bad you can't just go through his backpack and see what he's into." Cherry shrugged, before turning to her locker.
"Or can I?" Phoebe smirked before using her telekinesis to drag Dylan's backpack across the floor to her.
"Delivery for Max Thunder-" A delivery guy carrying a huge box walked in and tripped over Dylan's backpack. "Mannnnn!"
I covered my mouth and let out a small snicker. Max just so happened to walk by to pick up his package.
"I'll sign for that," Max told the delivery guy as he signed it. "Max Thunder...Mannnnn! Thanks, buddy." Max picked up his package as the guy left.
"Wait, you're getting your delivery's at school now?" Phoebe asked her twin brother as we went up to him.
"Yeah, Dad took away my mail privileges. You banish one mailman into a black hole... but he had it coming." Max informed us before walking away.
I decided to leave Phoebe to talk with Dylan and go to my next class.
----
After school, Phoebe informed me that she got a date with Dylan. Well, kind of, it's a playdate for their little siblings. You take what you can get I guess.
Phoebe and I went to her house after school. Daniel has a girl over at our house and wanted me to be anywhere else but there. I didn't argue one bit about that.
"Costclub!" Was the first thing I heard when Phoebe and I walked into her house.
"Uh, you two aren't going anywhere. You're grounded because of your little laser party." Barb ordered and that caught Phoebe's attention.
"What? No, no, no, no! You can't ground them! I have to take them to the park. My life depends on it!" Phoebe protested.
"That's what you said when the Wi-fi went out last week, and look..." Hank motioned to his daughter. "Still breathing."
"Sorry, girls, Billy and Nora are not allowed to leave this house." Barb declared.
"But we want to go to the park!" Nora cried.
"Park!" Billy exclaimed, throwing his arms up into the air.
"I thought you wanted to go to Costclub," Barb questioned them.
"Costclub!" Billy repeated.
"No, you are not going anyway," Hank instructed his son who sighed sadly.
"Great, now we're stuck here cracking open Max's safe," Nora complained.
"Safety books..." Max corrected from behind us and climbed over to the couch to his younger siblings "Is what will be cracking open, because that's what big brother Max is all about. Safety!"
"You know he's up to something," Barb told her husband as they began to walk to the door.
"Doesn't matter he can't hurt us at Costclub," Barb replied and they sprinted out of the house.
I turned to Phoebe. "Can I sleep over?"
She smiled, nodding her head. "Sure!"
"I'll go grab a few things. I'll be back." I told her and she nodded again. I walked out of the house and made my way back home.
I texted my brother that I was going to stay at Phoebe's tonight and he loved that idea. This girl must be special to Daniel.
I made it to my house in under a minute and walked into my house to see my brother and his friend kissing on the couch.
I groaned in disgust and quickly headed upstairs. I really don't want to become an aunt at the moment and from the looks of it, I might.
I packed the essentials I needed for the sleepover before heading back downstairs and left the house without bothering my brother and his friend.
I went back to the Thundermans house to find nobody was home. Phoebe must've left with Nora and Billy and Max must be downstairs.
I put my bag on the couch and texted Phoebe.
She texted back saying to keep Max away from the park. That shouldn't be too hard for me to do.
"Lindsey!"
I squealed, throwing my phone in the air. I heard chuckling and turned to find Max grinning at me.
"You just love scaring me, don't ya?" I asked him, bending down to pick up my phone.
"Hearing your adorable squeals is music to my ears," Max informed me, making my cheeks heat up.
"You think I'm adorable?" I asked Max, folding my arms over my chest.
He scoffed. "No. Now outta my way, I gotta go to the park."
"Not on my watch." I blocked his way and Max just gave stared at me. It was quiet for a few seconds until Max kissed my cheek and ran out of the house.
It took me a few seconds to comprehend what just happened before I chased after Max.
"Max!"
----
I chased Max all the way to one of the many, many parks of Hiddenville. My short legs gave me a disadvantage. Since there are 1,000 parks here, Max and I went through a few of them.
Eventually, Max ran into the park that Phoebe was with Nora and Billy.
"Phoebe!" Max yelled, running towards her. I slowed down when Max stopped to catch his breath. I put my hands on my knees and breathed heavily.
"Whew. Found you! Man, how many parks are in this city?" Max asked, breathily heavily. Phoebe points to the sign that he was leaning on. The sign says "Welcome to Hiddenville City of 1,000 Parks."
Max reads the sign. "Right."
"Linds! I told you to distract him." Phoebe cried to me.
"I tried, but he got away." I protested, blushing from what he did earlier. Max just gave me a smirk in return and I groaned.
Phoebe sighed. "Worst timing ever, Max."
"Hey, you stole Billy and Nora from me." Max retorted.
"I needed them. I had to make sure Dylan and I had something in common... but now it turns out Dylan likes me too! What? I know, right. Dylan's great! So, you can have them back!" Phoebe smiled, enthusiastically. Phoebe's happiness made me smile. She and Dylan are so cute together.
"Hey, don't try to trick me with your girl talk, all right. They're mine!" Max declared, before turning to me. "Come on, Lindsey."
I didn't have time to protest. He grabbed my hand and pulled me over to his younger siblings.
"Why are you dragging me into your mess?" I asked him, ripping my hand out of his. He glanced back at me for a moment.
"To annoy you." He winked and I rolled my eyes. I would honestly leave but my brother doesn't want me around at the moment and going back to the Thunderman's house would mean I would see Max still.
"Billy, Nora, let's go," Max ordered his siblings who were standing next to a balloon cart.
"Not yet. Billy's using the balloons to teach our babies their colors." Nora objected, causing me to giggle.
Billy pointed to the balloons. "This one's blueberry, that one's banana."
"Fruits aren't colors." Max gritted through his teeth.
"What about oranges?" I joked and Max scowled at me.
"Don't encourage them." Max snapped, before turning to his siblings. "Let's go open my safe."
Safe? Is that what Max got in the mail.
"I'm not leaving." Nora declared before using a singsongy voice. "And you can't catch me!" Nora ran off.
"I don't need to catch you!" Max uses his telekinesis to grab one of the strollers. "I caught Baby Lulu."
Max began to walk out of the park with us three trailing behind.
"Pick up the pace, you whiners!" Max exclaimed as we walked passed Phoebe and Dylan.
"Be quiet, Max!" I whacked his arm.
"Give me back my doll, you monster!" Nora cried.
"You're the worst babysitter ever!" Billy added.
I choose to hang out with these people and sometimes I hate myself for doing that.
----
We made it back to the house and Max walked over to the entrance to his lair.
"We were having so much fun at the park, and you sucked it all away!" Nora scolded her brother.
"Yeah, you're a fun sponge, Max!" Billy added and Max turned to us.
"Did you or did you not agree to open my safe?" Max questioned his siblings.
"We didn't," Nora replied.
"Well, you're doing it anyway. And I don't wanna hear another peep out of either one of you." Max instructed his siblings.
Max is such a jerk. Why am I just now noticing this?
Out of nowhere, a sound of a baby crying out was made. I looked over to the stroller.
"Thay was a peep. Who peeped?" Max asked.
"It was Nora's doll," Billy replied.
"Baby Lulu doesn't cry. She's a lady. She only wets herself." Nora objected.
Max, Nora, Billy, and I went up to the stroller to find a real baby in it.
"Cool! Baby Lulu came to life." Billy smiled.
I shook my head and picked up the baby and my eyes widened. It is a real baby!
I held the baby in my arms and turned to the three of them. "Guys... this is a real baby!"
"It's Dylan's baby brother Rusty. Max took the wrong stroller, fun sponge!" Nora explained.
"Turns out he's a baby sponge too," Billy muttered.
Max's phone rings and he pulled it out. "It's Phoebe."
"I wonder what she wants," I mentioned sarcastically and Max rolled his eyes before answering it.
"Hey, Phoebs, what's the happens?" He was very nervous.
Max replied a few moments. "Hey, you took Billy and Nora to the park when they were grounded. You're in a lot of trouble too, Phoebe!" Max scolded, trying to blame his sister.
Max grimaced. "All right, all right, we'll take the baby back and switch it right after we open the safe."
I whacked Max's arm, glaring at him. "Max."
He ignored me and continued talking to his sister. "Yeah, Phoebe, but what if there's a baby in the safe? Huh? Huh?" Max waited a few moments. "Okay, baby wins. We're on our way." Max hung up and I put the baby back into the stroller. "All right, let's get this baby out of here before Mom and Dad get home."
An alarm beeps and the screen popped up. "Alert alert! Parents approaching."
"Too late!" Nora cried.
"Great, now we're gonna be double grounded. Or arrested!" Billy exclaimed.
"You guys stay here! I'll take him to the back." Max told us and took the stroller into the kitchen. Us three sat down to wait. Max appeared moments later, rushing towards the front door. "Coming through the back!"
The front door opens and Hank is standing there with a ginormous bag of popcorn in his hands. "Who wants popcorn?!"
"Not before dinner!" Max shut the door with his telekinesis.
"We're surrounded. What do we do?" Billy asked, panicking.
"Relax! I have a plan." Max assured us and rolled the stroller behind the couch and hopped over the couch and sat down. The rest of us sat down and I gave Max a look.
"That was your plan?" I asked him.
"I didn't say it was a good one!" He shrugged and I rolled my eyes.
"Let's just go turn ourselves in and take our chances with the cops!" Billy cried out.
Barb walked in, carrying a few items from Costclub. "Thanks for all your help, kids. Your father went overboard at Costclub. Again!"
"What? I only got the bare essentials." Hank argued and right then a food truck beeps from outside. Hank goes outside and starts to yell. "Leave the crate of olives there, but make sure you put the mayonnaise barrels in the shade!"
Rusty begins to cry and the four of us start to mentally panic.
"Is that a baby crying?" Barb asked, confused.
"No, that's, uh, me!" Max stood up and starts fake crying. "I'm just so emotional with puberty and all."
Some upcoming villain he is.
"Oh, honey, Max, it's okay to cry," Barb reassured him, hugging him close. "Let it out."
Rusty then farted and I covered my mouth, trying not to laugh. Barb slowly pulled away, disgusted. "Okay, that's not quite what I meant."
"Sorry. My body's just so confused." Max pouted and Barb went outside with Hank. Rusty begins to cry again and Max hops over the couch to pick him up.
Barb and Hank come back with more stuff.
"Okay, that definitely sounds like a baby," Barb mentioned.
Max wrapped Rusty up in his sweater and pretends to cry. "Now you're calling me a baby!" He rushes down the slide into his lair.
"Aww, poor kid needs a tissue." Hank offered and went over to Max's slide with a huge box of tissues. "Well, I hope we bought enough." He tried to throw the box of tissues down the slide but it doesn't fit.
I sneakily grab Billy and Nora's hands and tell them to be quiet. I turn them invisible and sneak away from Hank and Barb.
Billy, Nora, and I head down to Max's lair. Rusty was crying probably because his diaper was full.
"Can't sneak him out until he stops crying. Why won't he stop crying?" Max asked, pacing back and forth.
"Bring him here, Max. I got this." Dr. Colosso suggested and Max brought Rusty over to him. "Boo!" Rusty starts to cry. "Yeah, that's probably why I don't have kids."
Because of the full diaper, it began to smell really bad.
"What's that smell? Is that poop?" Nora asked, making a scrunch up face.
"I believe the scientific term is "doo-doo." Billy corrected and I rolled my eyes.
"Give me the baby," I told Max and he handed Rusty to me. "I know how to change a diaper. I have 5 younger cousins."
"Nora, give her one of my T-shirts," Max told Nora as I placed Rusty down on the table.
"Yuck!" Dr. Colosso exclaimed. Max shivered in disgust but I learned to just deal with it.
I remove the diaper and shoved over to Max who groaned and put down the diaper. "Ew, dirty diaper, dirty diaper!"
Rusty began to pee and I hastily grabbed the shirt from Nora.
"Baby pee! Baby pee!" Max shouted and I quickly covered Rusty's lower body parts with a shirt. I began to tie the shirt around Rusty's body like a diaper.
"All I wanted to do was open up Dark Mayhem's safe of evil treasures," Max complained and I rolled my eyes at him.
"You opened up something evil. " Nora stated and I agreed with her.
"That should do it." I finished wrapping the shirt around and grinned.
"Nora?" Max said.
"On it!" Nora grinned and Max lifted the dirty diaper in the air with his telekinesis and Nora uses her laser to make it disintegrate.
"All right, you guys stay down here and watch Rusty. I'm gonna go get rid of Mom and dad." Max informed but Nora stopped him.
"Are you kidding? Who knows what's gonna come out of that kid next?"
"What? Come on. Lindsey is down here and she seems pretty good at taking care of babies." Max reasoned and I shrugged.
"Ehhh. But look at him, he's happy." I tickled Rusty and he laughs with delight. "Isn't that right, Rusty?"
"Yeah, see." Max moved in front of Rusty. "Yeah, yes, it is. Yes, you are. Yes, you are-" Rusty barfs all over Max's shirt and I lot out a laugh.
"Eww, he pucked!" Nora shivered in disgust.
"I believe the scientific term for that is "baby barf." Billy corrected once again.
"I know what it is, Billy," Max states with no emotion. I had a huge smile plastered on my face, I couldn't stop laughing.
Dr. Colosso begins to laugh hysterically. "Oh, that's the stuff."
Max eventually changed shirts and headed upstairs to get rid of their parents.
When Max was upstairs, I took Rusty and cradled him in my arms.
"What are you doing?" Nora asked me and I motioned her to be quiet.
"What are you doing?" Billy repeated but in a quieter tone. I shook my head.
"I'm gonna sing him a lullaby," I told them and began to sing Rusty to sleep.
As I was singing, I heard footsteps and I saw Max walking back downstairs. He froze in his place and he listened for a few moments. I heard snoring and I saw Billy had fallen asleep on his sister. I giggled and looked down at Rusty who was fast asleep.
I stopped singing and Max walked back down to me.
"Great, you made Rusty fall asleep." Max grinned at me and I nodded.
"You also made Billy fall asleep," Nora added and we looked at her. Nora was trying to keep her brother from falling. I giggled and glanced down at Rusty's passed out body.
"I didn't know you could sing," Max told me and I shrugged.
"There's a lot you don't know about me, Thunderman," I told Max, walking past him. "Let's go, everyone! Nora wake your brother up!"
I headed upstairs with the others trailing behind me. The look Max gave me when I was singing was priceless.
---
The four of us, plus Rusty, sprinted over to the park that Phoebe and Dylan were at. I hope Dylan hasn't figured out that we took his brother because I don't want to be a part of that. Once we made it to the park, we hid in the bushes so Dylan won't see us.
"-I kinda..." Phoebe paused when she saw us sneaking into the bushes before continuing. "Cheated at Kick the Stroller. Yeah, technically, I doubled-kicked which is a huge no-no in stroller-kicking." She laughed but Dylan is unamused. "You're not laughing."
"Give me my brother back!" Dylan ordered but Phoebe moved out of the way as Dylan tried to take the doll. Max uses his telekinesis to bring the balloons to Dylan to distract him. "Get them off me!"
I chuckled as Max uses his telekinesis to move the balloons.
"Uh, don't struggle, Dylan, it only makes the balloons angrier!" Phoebe informed him but Dylan continued to fight the balloons.
Phoebe took this as an opportunity to throw the doll to us and Billy caught it.
"Touch down!" Billy cheered and Nora snatched her doll back.
"Give me that!"
"Bye Rusty. It's been... smelly." Max told the baby before Phoebe used her telekinesis to take Rusty from my arms.
Us four leave the bushes without Dylan seeing us and go over to Phoebe once Dylan and Rusty are gone.
"Oh, yeah, well. Your brother has been gone for the past three hours and I'vee been holding a doll!" Phoebe confessed, calling after Dylan. Dylan hears this and turns around. "Oh, no, he's coming back. Run!"
Us four sprint out of the park before Dylan could catch us.
----
Later that same day, I was in Max's room with Billy, Nora, and Max. Max wanted to open the safe he got from Dark Mayhem by using Billy and Nora's powers. I'm actually curious about what's inside. Probably something evil.
Nora was using her lasers on the lock and Billy was using two hammers with his super speed on the handle.
"Come on, Max, how much longer!?" Nora complained.
"Yeah, we're hungry!" Billy added.
'I told you, you each get forty pounds of pretzels when you crack the safe." Max reminded the two of them, putting his hand on the large bag of pretzels.
Soon enough the knob comes off and the kids stop using their powers. Max pushes his siblings away and over to the safe, eagerly. "Out of the way! Out of the way!"
Billy and Nora sit on Max's bed with me and eat the pretzels.
"Finally, Dark Mayhem's evil treasures are mine! Will it be a Doomsday device? Plans to take over the world? Whatever it is, it's gonna be dark!" Max wondered aloud and opened the safe, chuckling to himself. A boxing glove pops out and hits Max in the groin area. Max grabs his stomach in pain. "Oh!" Max's voice becomes high-pitched. "Oh, yeah, that's dark! Really dark!"
Billy, Nora, Colosso, and I start laughing as Max falls backward in pain.
Seeing Max in pain makes me happy.
