Sam POV

Today was going to be a little bit different.

Why you may ask? Well of course because it's Halloween, and I am super exited since its going to be totally fangtastic .... anyway, I was currently walking through the same school corridors as every other day, slowly getting sick of the sight, but my thoughts were stopped by a monstrosity attacking me to the ground.

I let out a wince and when I opened my eyes that were closed from the impact, there she was in front of me, Rachel herself.

"Rach chill, what's the matter with you?" I asked quite annoyed but not that much.

"Awww I am sorry Sam, but there a Halloween dance where they'll be picking a Pumpkin King and Pumpkin Queen! Isn't that exiting?!" She squealed, standing up while helping me up.

"Well isn't that just great.." I remarked sarcastically until I was cut off by people singing their hearts out.

"This is Halloween, this is Halloween, Halloween, Halloween, Halloween!" I think I was going deaf, and there are stereotypes that goths are into these stuff but nah, that's just pure lies, at least for me.

Suddenly giggles came from behind me and Rachel, which she hasn't noticed because she was too busy putting cat ears on her head.

I rolled my eyes and looked for the sours of the giggles.

It was Gemini.

She was looking at some kind of Halloween poster that said that the dance was tonight....

TONIGHT?!?!

Holy sweets!! That's just great!

I rolled my eyes and decided to ignore it and went straight to cafeteria, which was as usual, filled with people who were either wearing something that was themed for Halloween or even full on costumes, and of course, no surprise that there were multiple decorations around the cafeteria and the food was even decorated to suit the Halloween theme.

I really couldn't care less, and for this very reason I brought in my own food. I sat down at a table and started to peacefully eat while putting on some earphones to listen to some tunes.

That of course didn't last long, as I had to take them off because the others came around to sit with me, which I didn't mind at all.

"So who's planning on going to the Halloween Dance?" Vicky asked, while digging her fork into her salad, which was very strange to see. The only reason is that I am not healthy, nor are the people I know and all of a sudden she's here and she's being all healthy, but at least she's living the good life.

"Obviously I'll be there, I didn't just buy my costume for a laugh and to spend money on something useless" Gemini replied in a 'duh' tone. Rachel just rolled her eyes at Gemini since she wasn't up for her sassyness.

"Oh Sam, are you going with us?" Thomas turned and looked at me, smiling slightly.

"Well I guess since you all decided that's you're going, I might as well tag along" I shrugged and he nodded smiling and going back to his food

Sudden silence in the cafeteria made the whole group surprised.

Then we heard faint footsteps and finally a guy came into view. This caused Vicky to jump up in exaitmemt, and went over to him to hug him.

He had pitch black hair, silver eyes, pale as snow skin, and basically wore grey and black clothing like me.

He seemed way taller than me, perhaps 6'3 more or less.

Vicky came over with the emotionless guy to the table, and finally the cafeteria was filled with chattering once more.

"Guys this is Zack Black, my adorable boyfriend!" Vicky said giggling while mentioning towards the guy standing next to her.

He gived a small wave, not much expression to be written on his face. However there was something odd about him. Like any normal person has a shadow, his was quite an odd one, and I couldn't point out what it was. The sudden drop of temperature also surprised me as the cafeteria is pretty heated most of the time, because of how many people sit in here, the hot foods and because there are heaters as winter is slowly approaching.

Rachel seemed to be quite in fear of this guy too.

When we all introduced ourselves to him and chatted a bit more it was time for class.

He appeared in most of my classes, and the same thing happened where ever he stepped his foot.

Odd shadows kept appearing and the temperature drastically dropped. The curiosity of wanting to know why it was happening, was pretty much eating me alive. As much as I was curious, I wasn't ready to mess something up or ask a wrong question and get on this guys bad side because who knows what he is capable of.

He seemed to be slightly like me, Goth like and wearing dark clothing but I wasn't as grumpy as him that's for sure

Anyway, after school we all decided that it would be a good idea to get ready at Rachels. We all went and got our costumes and went straight to her house of course.

"This is so exiting! I wonder who's going to be the Pumpkin royalty" Gemini said exited, as she was fixing up the red dress she has put on, which was part of her devil costume. Rachel didn't even reply and did her usual eye role.

"I am sure as hell you won't be the winner here" Rach mumbled to herself and Gemini shoot her a glare, probably because she's heard what Rach said.

After an hour or so, we were all ready, in our costumes that we've bot previously, and we headed out to our school.

When we finally arrived at our destination, Gemini and Rachel couldn't help but squeal at the sight of the guy and how amazingly it was decorated. There were multiple green, purple and orange lights, which were the main sorce of light in this place apart from some white lights at the stage. There were verity of decorations everywhere, like fake spiderwebs with spiders on them, or fake grave stones and skeletons. There were tables that were mostly covered with bowls of sweets and bowls of drinks that had fake gummy eyes in them. Chairs were also provided for the tired ones that danced too much and had enough or for the anti social ones that were forced to be here and aren't even going to try and dance.

I feel like I am describing me.

People were already dancing and chatting while the theme song from Ghost Busters was playing in the background.

"This is quite fun" I said, smiling and Thomas nodded, agreeing with my statement, while others agreed as well.

Sudden temperature drop signalled that Zack was approaching the group and he did. He was dressed up as Hawkeye, which was pretty snazzy.

"What are you guys waiting for, we are here to have fun, so let's party!!" Gemini yelled and we all decided to dance around, keeping up with the beat. Laughter and joy filled the room, as we had fun. Some of us even started going around, grabbing sweets from them bowls, while Vicky mostly grabbed chocolate which was her obsession, which was quite odd to see, knowing about her salad obsession.

This whole dancing and jumping around made me really tired so I decided to use one of the chairs and sit down to catch my breath.

I grabbed apple juice on my way to the chair and finally sat down, drinking the whole juice, while watching not to smudge my black lipstick all over my face.

Thomas decided to come over and he sat down next to me.

"So are you enjoying yourself so far?" He asked, glacing at me, raising his voice so I could hear him over the sound of music and the noises that were coming out of the crowd like chatter, laughter and their movements, as their shoes tapped on the floor.

"Yes, it's quite fun. I didn't think I would enjoy it but it's actually pretty fun" I replied, trying to say it as loud as possible to make sure he heard me, and he laughed at my silliness and nodded.

The song finally stopped for the head teacher to step on the stage, in her 'head teacher zombie' costume which is totally creative.

"Hello students, as you already know, this is the time we are going to pick the Pumpkin King and Pumpkin Queen, so what to do is, take a sheet of paper that are placed in the middle of each table and write one female and one male name from this school that you would like to nominate" she announced and we all went for the paper and pens and after two minutes of brain storming I decided on my choice and I've wrote Xander and Rachel, my babes. I ship them, and let's me honest and cliché here, Xander clearly likes Rachel, but Rachel is too blind to notice, but somewhere deep inside she likes him too but she yet, does not realise it, nor wants to admit it to herself.

After all the people have given their papers to teachers, they've all took about 5 minutes to count all the votes. They wrote it down and the Head teacher came out with a smile on her face, with that piece of paper in her hand.

"Now that we know the results, I can happily announce the winners and the winners are... Rachel Tamaki as the Pumpkin Queen" everyone cheered, while I stood up from my chair and clapped like crazy screaming "Hell yeah, Go Rach!!" While Thomas whistled while following my lead with the standing up part.

Rachel proudly stepped on the stage and was given her crown, and she of course had to smirk at Gemini, as she was victories.

Rachel POV

Happiness filled my body, knowing that I've won, this happiness was so strong, I could party all night long. The satisfaction I had knowing that I won't but Gemini didn't filled me more with happiness that I smirked right at her, gaining a role of eyes.

They placed the grown on my head which made me giggle, and knowing that I won, I could just feel that Hiro will become the King, and I'll finally make the stupid zodiac sign jealous of my success.

"And finally the Pumpkin King is..... Zack Black!" The head teacher announced and my world turned upside down in matter of seconds.

He stepped onto the stage and I could see at the corner of my eye, Gemini laughing her butt off, while I was standing on the stage in fear. Not even Sam could help me at this point, this was a nightmare.

"Now the King and Queen may do their solo dance" the head teacher announced and I swallowed my fear, almost choking on it in the process. We both headed off the stage onto the dance floor, me keeping my distance from this creep.

Everyone surrounded us in a big circle and as the song came on, we were about to dance, but fear overpowered me and I took off running out of the hall.

Sam POV

As Zack and Rach were about to have their royal dance, Rachel took off running out of the hall in fear, while I didn't know how to react. I was about to go after her but Xander insisted he would go after her and I had no problem with that.

I came over to the others still in shock.

"Wow, I did not think she would be so scared of Zack. I think we took it too far" Vicky said, laughing nervously, and Zack tagged along with the laughter, and I just looked at him in pure shock and when he noticed he kept on laughing.

"Sorry, but we were just messing around, I am not that grumpy nor seem like I hate everything that my eyes can see" Zack replied to my confusion and everyone else's,  as he chuckled at it.

Just in the right time when Xander and Rach came back, Rachel obviously calmer and knowing the whole story about Zack, she no longer felt that much fear towards him, a slow song came on.

Obviously all the couples went dancing and to my surprise Rachel decided to dance with Xander.

Suddenly I felt like someone was pushing me and it was Vicky. I wasn't sure where she was pushing me until I bumped into Thomas who got pushed towards me by Gemini.

We looked at each other, then looked down awkwardly.

"Hi" I said simply, and regretted it because that was the most awkward thing I've said right now.

Thomas started to rub his neck while looking around nervously.

"So eh, would you like to dance?" Thomas asked, smiling shyly.

I smiled and nodded, taking his hand and dragging him onto the dance floor. He placed his hands on my hips while I placed my arms around his neck and we danced along to the music.
